|---|---|---|
| IT Manager at Canara Robeco | 4.0 | I use Veritas System Recovery for daily backup and restoration, finding it stable with no production issues. It significantly reduced costs by 50-60%, although improvements are needed in integration, documentation, and reporting. Compared to Veeam, both have unique strengths. |
| Sr.System Administrator at Suwaidi | 5.0 | I use Veritas System Recovery for help desk servers and regular IT compliance DR testing. Its ability to perform unlimited full backups monthly is highly valuable, though its pricing and local support could be improved. The product is very stable. |
| Partial Owner at Storage One | 4.0 | Veritas System Recovery is valuable for automating system recovery and facilitating environment migration, such as from physical to virtual servers. However, deployment can be challenging due to complex configuration and policy testing, impacting its automation benefits. |
| Network Administrator at KING FAHD MILITARY MEDICAL COMPLEX | 3.0 | I found the installation of Veritas System Recovery straightforward, but I was dissatisfied overall. Issues arose with recovery and restoration, requiring agent installation on each device, which deterred me from using or updating the latest version. |
| Cybersecurity Consultant at a tech vendor with 10,001+ employees | 4.0 | I use Veritas System Recovery to back up and restore system states efficiently, but the centralized management console needs improvement. Compared to Acronis, Veritas lacks functionality for managing multiple machines using a centralized solution. |
| Sr. Technical Support Consultant at a computer software company with 51-200 employees | 3.5 | I find Veritas a unified, expensive solution offering quick recovery and good ROI. My main concern is its lack of database snapshot protection for ASM. Support handovers are an issue. I rate it 7/10. |
| ICT Solutions Consultant/Systems Integrator at SolutionChest Limited | 5.0 | I use Veritas System Recovery for database and application backups, finding its user-friendly interface and integration excellent. It's very stable and scalable. While I rate it 10/10, I believe the pricing could be cheaper. |
| System Specialist at a manufacturing company with 10,001+ employees | 3.0 | I use this for whole server image backup and restoration, finding it faster. However, the setup was complex, the interface needs improvement, and I sometimes face reliability issues during restoration, particularly with initialization. |
I use the solution for daily backup and the restoration of backup files.
I don't see any scope for improvement in the product since it is a well-established solution. My company has not faced any production-related issues with Veritas System Recovery, as it has stayed quite stable in our environment.
The product's integration capabilities are an area with certain shortcomings where improvements are required. The documentation and reporting areas also need to be improved.
I have been using Veritas System Recovery for ten years. My company has a partnership with Veritas, but we don't sell solutions to others. My company only uses the product internally.
My company has not checked the scalability part of the product.
My company falls between small to medium-sized organizations.
My company has not faced any issues with Veritas System Recovery, so we never had a reason to reach out to Veritas's technical support team.
Apart from Veritas, my company has experience with Veeam Backup. Veritas and Veeam are different entities or platforms that work under different conditions. Comparing Veritas and Veeam is not feasible since both are good in their own ways.
The product was installed in my current organization ten years ago, during which I was not a part of the company, and it was done by someone else.
My company has successfully dealt with the area of compliance with the help of Veritas System Recovery. The solution has helped reduce my company's cost by around 50 to 60 percent.
As my company does not have too many servers to deal with, I feel that price-wise, Veritas System Recovery is a suitable tool for our company. My company has to make yearly payments towards the licensing costs attached to the solution. There is no need to pay any additional fees apart from the licensing costs attached to the solution.
The solution is easy to maintain. There are two people in our organization to maintain the solution.
To those who plan to use the solution in the future, I would say that it is a good product.
I rate the overall tool a seven to eight out of ten.

We use Veritas System Recovery as a help desk server or CA (computer associate). It works well without any issues. We use the solution for regular DR testing that we have to do every year as part of IT compliance. We allocate two or three days to shift our Oracle and Exchange platforms to the DR and then do the testing. The product was very stable and didn't give us any headaches for a long time.
When we consider the backup model of other products like Veeam, their incremental backup just adds to their first full backup. With Veritas System Recovery, we have the option to run an infinite number of full backups according to our requirements. With my cloud version of Veritas System Recovery, I can have a full backup every month, which is not possible with any other vendors.
Other vendors will claim that the original copy is strong enough, but the customers have to ensure that bugs won't cause any problems in the future. However, with Veritas System Recovery, you can run a full backup this month and again run a full backup on the first or thirtieth day of the next month.
Veritas System Recovery’s pricing and local support need some improvement.
I have been using Veritas System Recovery for six to seven years.
Veritas System Recovery is a very stable solution. We did face some small issues while updating the Windows server, but we used to clear them ourselves.
Veritas System Recovery is a scalable solution. More than 14 users are using the solution in our organization.
Veritas System Recovery's technical support is great. We called them two to three times for some backup and off-site backup running issues. They assisted us by replying to us properly.
We deployed the solution through an in-house team. Third party access to data centers and IT resources is very limited.
Maintaining the solution is very easy because it has a good and strong community.
Veritas System Recovery is a great and stable solution. It's like an Apple device, where you buy the solution and forget about your problems. Once you install this product, you will not face any issues while recovering something.
Overall, I rate Veritas System Recovery ten out of ten.

The tool helps automate system recovery. The solution is most useful in scenarios involving restoration to a different environment. For instance, when migrating from a physical server to a virtual one, the tool facilitates conversion.
The disk imaging feature with Veritas System Recovery could potentially enhance our data protection strategy. However, currently, it's not widely adopted, especially for servers, due to factors such as pricing and licensing. While it could benefit desktop systems, none of our customers have opted for it.
The tool's deployment could be easier. The deployment itself isn't the issue; rather, the problem lies in configuring policies and testing everything before it's ready. We invest a significant amount of time in preparing for various scenarios. However, we often encounter situations where changes have occurred since our initial preparations. This can render the automation less valuable.
Veritas System Recovery's scalability is not an issue.
It's worth noting that Veritas has different support teams for different products, and the level of support can vary significantly between them. It used to be one of the best. Unfortunately, in recent years, we've observed a decline in the overall support quality across all Veritas products.
"In the past, as partners, we could easily reach higher-level technicians to solve issues quickly. But now, all cases start with level one support, which is slower. This change hasn't improved support quality.
Neutral
I rate the product's ease of deployment a five out of ten.
The tool is a last resort. We primarily focus on preventing situations where its use becomes necessary. While we sell and test this tool, our customers don't frequently need to use it because it prevents such scenarios from occurring in the first place.
The feature most relied upon for our NetBackup customers differs. Generally, customers prefer having manual control over the recovery process rather than relying solely on automated solutions. None of our customers currently opt for the automated solution because they prefer maintaining control over the process.
I would recommend Veritas System Recovery to others. Overall, I would rate it an eight out of ten.

The installation was straightforward.
I was not happy with the product. I didn’t even install the latest version. I had to install the agent on every PC and every server. We faced issues with recovery and restoration.
I have used the solution for more than ten years.
We had 20 users. We also had to maintain the solution. I checked the scans, storage, Active Directory, and switches. I had to do everything.
There is no local support. We have to give remote access to the support team to provide a solution to our issues. We didn’t want to go through the hassle of raising tickets, as we had to have a dedicated person to communicate with the support team every time.
It takes a few minutes to install the tool. We faced issues after installation. Sometimes, the services stopped. There was a communication issue. The tool did not register the location properly. Troubleshooting was very hard. We had to raise a ticket to the support team every time.
It is a good product, but troubleshooting was an issue. I was not happy with the product. Overall, I rate the tool a six out of ten.

We use Veritas System Recovery to take a backup onto the machine itself, and we may export it to a centralized storage location before the restoration process.
The solution captures the system state, so when we restore the system, it will be restored to the state it was in at the time of the backup. This makes it easy to restore.
Veritas System Recovery Manager offers some manager solutions, but there is room for improvement. If we are managing multiple machines, System Recovery can be installed. However, when compared to other solutions such as Acronis, Veritas' centralized console could use more functionality. Veritas Backup Access is a centralized solution, but if we want to manage it as a central solution, the centralized management console needs improvement.
I have been using the solution for one and a half years.
The solution is stable.
The solution is scalable.
The initial setup is straightforward. The solution was used for a standalone setup that only took half an hour.
I give the solution an eight out of ten.
We use the solution when it meets our client's requirements.
I recommend the solution to others because it is easy to use and we don't have to be technical people.
We use Veritas for system recovery, backup and cloud data production. I'm an IT consultant.
The best thing about this product is that it's a unified solution and doesn't require the installation of any other solution, whether it's in a virtual environment, or on-prem. Compared to its competitors, Veritas gives a lot, offering good recovery quickly with your system requiring the minimum RTO and RPO.
For most organizations these days, their main concern is to protect their database and I think Veritas could make some improvements in that regard. Our database is on the ASM and I think the product could be integrated with that so that we can protect the database snapshot. Currently, Snapshot doesn't work on an ASM-based database and the ability to do that would improve the solution.
The solution is scalable.
The solution is scalable.
The technical support is okay although we sometimes get caught in the crossover between shifts and our case gets handed over to a new support person without any briefing on the status.
Yes, It is a unified solution
It will give you a very good ROI in a long run.
This is definitely an enterprise-level product so it's an expensive solution as well as being expensive in relation to similar products on the market.
I rate this product seven out of 10.
Our primary use case of this solution is for the backup of our databases and applications. We have it deployed on-premise. We resell this solution.
It has a user-friendly interface and configures and integrates nicely with other products. Monitoring and reporting features are also good.
I don't think this product is perfect but so far I have not had any issues with it.
The pricing could be cheaper.
It's very stable.
It's very scalable. For the deployment, we had three people but it can be done by only one person. It's a very straightforward deployment one person can do it. One person can do it but we have a team of two administrators that do the management.
We use this solution day-to-day.
Since the deployment, I've logged about three of four cases and their responses are usually very prompt. I am very satisfied.
I was previously using Veeam Network Backup for general network backup.
The initial setup was very straightforward. We had some firewall issues. The deployment took around a week.
We deployed through our technical team.
We also looked at Dell EMC. We chose Veritas because it's far more straightforward.
I would rate it a ten out of ten.
The primary use case is that we take an image of the whole server, whether it's virtual or physical and then in case it's needed, restore the whole image.
It's much faster to restore the image than to install Windows and software by itself.
You can back up the whole image, not just files and folders, but the image from the server, and you can restore the whole image.
This solution needs an easier interface that is more comprehensible. Also, sometimes we have issues with restoring images when we initialize the servers. In addition, the reliability is sometimes lacking when restoring the image.
It was not straightforward, it was somewhat complex. I would give it a rating of eight out of ten regarding the setup.
I have been looking at Clonezilla, which is a kind of freeware software based on Linux system, and then I looked at Acronis.
