In ERP, mostly people are looking for financial solutions for GL, ERP, AR, and assets. The embedded AI is very beneficial for automations, and it provides a lot of help to customers. With Oracle ODA, users can simply chat with the system to enter expenses and Oracle AI performs processes automatically, saving time for customers. Features like reporting and dashboards are the main ones.
The data entry process is very time-consuming. Without using options like ODA, manually entering data in the GLS screen or Oracle invoices is a time-consuming job. The screens could be improved, as a lot of mouse clicks are required, and multiple fields need to be entered. Although it has a workaround with spreadsheets, the screen interface could be better.

Many of our clients previously had decentralized architectures with multiple applications, struggling with financial and management reporting. The solution offers a wider stack and scope of applications, catering to multiple client bases and application requirements. Its UI also provides a good user experience, which helps with client adoption.
The solution has several advantages as a SaaS product. It continuously improves and enriches its product with quarterly upgrades and new updates. It stays on top of industry best practices and standards, which isn't always possible for businesses. Since the tool is cloud-based, it's much easier to manage and maintain compared to client deployment models. Oracle manages the infrastructure, so it doesn't require much management effort on our part.
The AI functionality is great. In the latest release, they introduced about 50 AI features. A digital assistant integrated into the product helps users navigate through different communication channels like chat, audio, and voice. It provides recommendations and insights quite well. They also have AI for document handling, like scanning and creating invoices automatically.
They have a product for predictive analytics used mostly in manufacturing industries. It integrates with IoT sensors to perform predictive analysis on production machines. They also have an analytics-driven UI with alerts to help users take action based on collected data.
We did face some challenges during the implementation of Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP. Certain requirements were not met by the standard functionality, so we had to customize and build custom applications on top of the solution. But overall, I think it stacks up well as a standard product.
It should improve their customer support. Sometimes, service requests stay open for a while, and we don't always get clear resolutions. They're still scaling up to handle the frequent updates and changes that come with a SaaS product.

I worked with Oracle E-Business Suite for about ten years and also with custom Oracle applications. I stopped working with Oracle E-Business Suite about four to five years ago when I transitioned to Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP.
The implementation time can vary greatly. Some small-scale implementations take about 8-9 months, while larger global deployments can take 3-4 years. I don't think much needs to be simplified in the implementation process. The tool keeps improving the features and product stack, and they have a framework with standards and guidelines for implementation.
Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP is reasonable and recommended for medium-sized enterprises. It might be a bit expensive for smaller businesses, but it is a good product if they have sufficient users.

I use Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP for various processes, such as recording to report, ordering to cash, procuring to payment, and hiring to retire. I also use it for enterprise performance management.
Unlike traditional ERPs, where adding a column is customization, personalization is in the tool. OTBI is built-in, providing many pre-delivered reports and dashboards. It's cloud-based, so it's OpEx instead of CapEx. Oracle Integration Cloud Services offers pre-delivered APIs for easy integration with systems like payroll and Salesforce.
The OCI layer allows for AI, ML, and Gen AI capabilities. It can provide insights on payments, offering discounts for early payments or showing interest for late payments. The open platform allows bots, mobility, and Gen AI integration.
There are two main areas for improvement. First, the licensing and pricing model confuses customers, especially after going live. Different components like EPM, ERP, and OIC are charged differently. Second, the manufacturing functionality needs more maturity, especially for non-process-based manufacturing. We've raised this with Oracle, and they've acknowledged it. They might address it in future patches.
Functionality-wise, I feel there's a lack of manufacturing, especially discrete manufacturing. The product is not that mature in this area. They need to work hard on it. They have developed AI and ML solutions for manufacturing, but I haven't deployed those yet. Compared to SAP, especially for manufacturing, Oracle still needs to work a lot.
For stability, I haven't seen any significant issues. Oracle legally claims 99.99 percent uptime. I haven't encountered problems with over 30 global customers where the system is down. They have backup data centres everywhere. The backup site is available with zero data loss if something goes wrong with the main server.
I would rate the scalability of Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP as ten out of ten. The reason is that everything is now hosted by Oracle. They've recently released a self-service console for end users. During implementation, they ask for information to size your hardware. Oracle has controls in place - if CPU usage reaches 75 per cent, they'll automatically expand your hardware. The self-service options, especially for environment refresh, have greatly improved. What used to take 15 days now can be done almost instantly. They've given customers control over task initiation and completion, which is really good.
The main competitors for Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP are SAP and, to a certain extent, Microsoft Dynamics. Each has a slightly different target market. Dynamics is more for small to mid-size businesses with a smaller budget. SAP always has the upper hand when it comes to manufacturing, but otherwise, it's fairly good competition.
I work with all enterprise applications, not just Oracle. I often do assessments for customers to determine which solution would be the right fit for them. Sometimes I recommend SAP over Oracle, or Dynamics, depending on the customer's needs and what they're trying to achieve.
The initial setup process for Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP is not that complex. They provide FDBI templates. It does self-validation of data. For example, if you're migrating customer master data, which might have seven or eight different tabs, it validates and gives errors if there's conflicting information. It's much easier compared to on-premise applications where we used to write TC for data migration. The configuration is quite flexible.
I rate the overall solution an eight out of ten.
My main use case involves being a data modeler in the data warehousing world, and in order to do the analysis, I should understand the source data. That's the reason I ask for Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP access so that I can understand what data we have in the source and how I can consume that source data to build our data model. That's the first step.
For example, if I want to do data modeling for general ledgers or the GL module, I need to understand the base tables that I have in Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP, how they are connected so that I will get a better understanding of how to design the fact tables and the dimension tables.

We are using ERP Cloud for all our models. This consists of all our finances, HR, CRM, and supply chain management. I particularly work for the SCM segment.
The best part of Oracle ERP Cloud is that everything can be found in a single place. We as an organization, have our finances planned, HR Code uploaded, time and labor, payroll, supply chain, and CRM embedded in the single system.
The solution is ever-evolving. Each quarter, the product and the system have new purchases, dependencies, and improvements. There is a constant need to stay alert about new updates and change whatever is updated according to the requirements. Most of the changes are odd and require no need to access from the user side. It isn’t a disadvantage but a part of the evolution of the product.
The additional features depend on the case. There is, however, always room for improvement. Oracle can make the system more stable which includes some changes as some of the use cases were not available in Oracle's systems and the element’s value needed to be defined. This is one of the limitations of Oracle ERP Cloud.

If we implement multiple modules, the number of people for deployment depends on the structure or work plan. For example, if you have to configure a complete system, and the time period is six months, it might require four to five people. But if the same is not defined, then it will take more people. It is challenging to decide how much human resources will be required. It depends on the case and the scenario.
In terms of maintenance, in the initial period, more effort and workforce are required. Once the system is stable, the number of people can be reduced. The maintenance depends on the structure of the organization. Some organizations have a central maintenance team that has four or five people who are responsible for maintaining or working on every model. Some organizations have specific teams working on specific modules. It majorly depends on the nature of the projects.
The price is average compared to other vendors. The licensing is on a yearly basis depending on the subscription pattern. There are no extra costs apart from licensing.
