I use the solution in my company, especially if an application is down and it is considered to be a P1 issue or a critical issue. The network team will blame the application team, while the application team will blame the infrastructure team, and the infrastructure team will blame the network team, so the ball keeps on rotating. Instana Infrastructure Monitoring provides a perfect and accurate analysis of where the problem lies, so it helps stop the blame game in the company. If the problem is at an application level, it will tell you what level the issue is at, and if the application is developed in Java, what needs to be changed.
What is our primary use case?
What is most valuable?
Predictive analysis can be considered to be the most effective part of the product when it comes to monitoring. The product is very cost-effective. I have seen that for 80 percent of our company's customers, after reviewing the product or taking the demo comes the commercial part, and mostly, the customers feel that it is a very cost-effective tool.
What needs improvement?
The product’s scalability is an area with certain limitations, making it an area where improvements are required.

Stability-wise, I rate the solution a nine and a half out of ten.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Scalability-wise, I rate the solution an eight out of ten.
I have not worked much on other technologies, like SAP or VMware's virtualization part, on-prem infrastructure, or cloud infrastructure. Instana Infrastructure Monitoring is so fast and easy to adapt that it works fine. I have not explored other operating systems or infrastructure solutions because my company doesn't have that customer scale. Most of our customers are on-prem or on AWS or Azure, but Instana Infrastructure Monitoring adapts to their infrastructure very well. My company came to know how well Instana Infrastructure Monitoring adapts to our customers' infrastructures when we take care of the PoC phase.
Around 12 to 15 people in my company use the product.
How are customer service and support?
I rate the technical support a nine and a half out of ten.

What was our ROI?
Though I can't comment about the return on investment part, I feel that it is a fruitful investment. If any company goes for Instana Infrastructure Monitoring, then it won't let that organization down. If you invest 140 to 150 USD a month in the tool, you will not regret it.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The cost of the tool is around 130 USD per month.
What other advice do I have?
The tool automatically integrates with more than 250 products.
Speaking about how the tool's automated root cause analysis aids my company's operations, I would say that the tool goes into so much depth that it will drill down to the actual code where the problem lies and where the changes need to be done at the code level.
I recommend the tool to others. The BFSI segments or the government segments in India should definitely try the product.
I rate the tool's ability to adapt to the scale and complexity of our infrastructure a ten out of ten.
There is a need to maintain the product regularly. I am directly involved with the maintenance part of the product.
I believe that since Instana Infrastructure Monitoring is a leading product, as per the reports on Gartner's website, I rate the product a ten out of ten.
