Trustworthy and provides good availability
Our administrator found the solution easy to use, but once that administrator left, it felt very overwhelming to the individual who took it over. It could be more of a knowledge transfer situation that didn't happen, but we didn't know if it was easy to use. Precisely Assure QuickEDD is deployed on the cloud in our organization. The implementation of QLED helped us with our recovery time objective and was a seamless transition. In order to utilize the product to its fullest potential, users should be knowledgeable of what it offers. They should also form a relationship with the person who is their representative. Overall, I rate the solution an eight or nine out of ten.

Backup operations have become reliable and reporting now simplifies hybrid cloud protection
Veeam Data Platform has Veeam Enterprise Manager as well as Veeam ONE as valuable features, which allow us to generate various kinds of reports that are required for the customer. Instant VM Recovery is a good feature of the high-speed recovery features in Veeam Data Platform, and Continuous Data Protection (CDP) is also a good feature. Ransomware protection is a good feature added in Veeam Data Platform from version 12 onwards, and the ability to create immutable repositories is also a good feature in Veeam. The analytics part of Veeam Data Platform is a good solution because I have worked on various backup technologies such as EMC NetWorker and NetBackup. However, I have not used the analytical parts currently but will check it out. Streamlining processes as well as saving money are benefits that Veeam Data Platform provides for the end user, as it allows for application-aware backups and database backups without the need for various kinds of licenses that other backup software requires. Veeam offers socket-based licenses, instance-based licenses, and capacity-based licenses, which is a great feature.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable feature of Precisely Assure QuickEDD is the backup system."
"Synchronous applications are valuable."
"The most valuable feature is the instant recovery."
"Storage gateway feature is very flexible."
"It really just works, we don't have backup issues anymore."
"Veeam is cheaper than our older solution and more reliable, and we spend less time to check and relaunch daily backups in error."
"There are many features that include the SQL table-level restore, Instant VM Recovery, and SureBackup, which are valuable to us."
"The solution is stable and the performance is good."
"The ease of use of the product and overall confidence in the product and Veeam support are valuable."
"My customers find the backup and recovery ease of use is the most beneficial feature."

Cons

"Our administrator found the solution easy to use, but once that administrator left, it felt very overwhelming to the individual who took it over."
"There should be more interactive dashboards."
"For me, I have trouble with large VMDK files (multi TB) regardless of where I place the proxy and while there are several others who have similar results, Veeam hasn’t seemed to find a solution for this yet."
"Backup compression. It has got better but still could improve somewhat."
"The backup and integration could be improved."
"I have a problem with the VM. When we started doing a backup, it takes a snapshot for our virtual machines, but when we try it two or three times, in some cases, our virtual machines go to a consolidated state. I don't know why this problem happens. But I still think Veeam is a top-ranking solution."
"The solution could improve by allowing the ability to do monitoring and traffic aggregation in the whole virtual network environment."
"The replication functionality only works for VMware environments. Veeam has a backup agent for AIX operating systems, and we will like to see the replication functionality available for the AIX operating system. Additionally, if the backup functionality for AIX to be included in the Veeam console would be an advantage."
"The support, reporting part and customization should all be improved."
"The downside is when you need to backup physical servers as usually most organizations aren't running a 100% virtualized environment so that can be an issue."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It is expensive. The cost varies based on your requirements. If you want to manage it, there is an extra cost."
"Veeam Data Platform's pricing is affordable."
"Veeam is more reasonably priced than some competing products."
"Our licensing cost is $200 a year."
"Veeam Backup Replication is inexpensive for small workloads."
"I consider that the product's price falls under the middle range category."
"I acknowledge there are concerns about pricing, specifically in gaining more customers for VM. We've encountered difficulties in convincing them due to pricing issues. So, I rate it a six."
"The product is expensive."
"The pricing and licensing is better than the competitors, but it could be better."

Disaster recovery planning is something that seems challenging for all businesses. Virtualization in addition to its operational flexibility, and cost reduction benefits, has helped companies improve their DR posture. Virtualization has made it easier to move machines from production to…
