Trustworthy and provides good availability
Our administrator found the solution easy to use, but once that administrator left, it felt very overwhelming to the individual who took it over. It could be more of a knowledge transfer situation that didn't happen, but we didn't know if it was easy to use. Precisely Assure QuickEDD is deployed on the cloud in our organization. The implementation of QLED helped us with our recovery time objective and was a seamless transition. In order to utilize the product to its fullest potential, users should be knowledgeable of what it offers. They should also form a relationship with the person who is their representative. Overall, I rate the solution an eight or nine out of ten.

Backup operations have become reliable and reporting now simplifies hybrid cloud protection
Veeam Data Platform has Veeam Enterprise Manager as well as Veeam ONE as valuable features, which allow us to generate various kinds of reports that are required for the customer. Instant VM Recovery is a good feature of the high-speed recovery features in Veeam Data Platform, and Continuous Data Protection (CDP) is also a good feature. Ransomware protection is a good feature added in Veeam Data Platform from version 12 onwards, and the ability to create immutable repositories is also a good feature in Veeam. The analytics part of Veeam Data Platform is a good solution because I have worked on various backup technologies such as EMC NetWorker and NetBackup. However, I have not used the analytical parts currently but will check it out. Streamlining processes as well as saving money are benefits that Veeam Data Platform provides for the end user, as it allows for application-aware backups and database backups without the need for various kinds of licenses that other backup software requires. Veeam offers socket-based licenses, instance-based licenses, and capacity-based licenses, which is a great feature.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Its initial setup is fine; it is straightforward and easy."
"Synchronous applications are valuable."
"The most valuable feature of Precisely Assure QuickEDD is the backup system."
"Replication, Sure Backup and Instant Recovery are very easy to use."
"Instant Veeam Recovery is invaluable as it has eliminated the need for High Availability as you can bring back up applications within five minutes if needed."
"Veeam is very user friendly and you don't need to have certifications to work on it."
"Veeam was able to reduce our overall backup windows while reducing our dedicated backup infrastructure."
"The platform has a useful disaster recovery feature."
"It has improved our organization; I don't have to spend all day troubleshooting backups, so it has freed up a lot of time."
"For us, it's a simple solution for our complex environment."
"I spend 75-80% less time managing backups than I used to, troubleshooting is easier, and it has fewer moving parts than traditional backup solutions."

Cons

"Our administrator found the solution easy to use, but once that administrator left, it felt very overwhelming to the individual who took it over."
"It is expensive. The cost varies based on your requirements."
"There should be more interactive dashboards."
"When you have to renew the licenses you sometimes have some trouble getting rid of the old one and reassigning it to the new one. That's an aspect that could run smoother and could be better."
"The price can be a bit expensive."
"Backup compression. It has got better but still could improve somewhat."
"The replication functionality only works for VMware environments. Veeam has a backup agent for AIX operating systems, and we will like to see the replication functionality available for the AIX operating system. Additionally, if the backup functionality for AIX to be included in the Veeam console would be an advantage."
"There is a bug that prevents enabling the restore button, which is hectic."
"As with any product things can break down."
"We would like to have the ability to perform more things on the web interface. The heavy client is still needed to perform advanced tasks."
"Not covering the physical environment is both a pro and con of the product."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It is expensive. The cost varies based on your requirements. If you want to manage it, there is an extra cost."
"There is a license required for this solution and the price is a bit expensive but it depends on the environment that you have on how much it will cost."
"I rate the pricing a five, depending on the application and environment."
"The licenses are code-based or server-based for Veeam ONE. The last version is 12, and it is host-based, I don't like to move to a code-based solution."
"Several licensing schemes are available."
"I would say that the product is fairly priced."
"Customers require a perpetual license for the product. However, along with the license, they must also subscribe to the support service for one year or three years under a separate contract."
"On a scale from one to ten, where one is cheap and ten is expensive, I rate the solution's pricing a five out of ten."
"Veeam has been raising its prices in the last two years, so it's now lacking some competitiveness in pricing."
