Cost-effective and provides a good mobile application, but the UI must be more advanced
The solution is similar to Workday. It can be used for employee-related things like timesheets and attendance The timesheets in Paycor are better than those in Workday. The UI must be more advanced. Workday is faster compared to Paycor. I have been using the solution for a couple of months. I…

Decades of use have delivered secure, customizable control for public sector operations and finance
I have just completed three assessments: one on inventory demand planning, another on using artificial intelligence to bring supplier contracts in portable document format directly into PeopleSoft. PeopleSoft works both internally as well as with third-party products that integrate seamlessly with PeopleSoft. PeopleSoft operates both from a need-to-know-only basis as well as being able at the same time to do group purchase and realize large quantity purchase discounts. My clients have used marketplaces, and it is really industry-specific whether they use one or not, or if there is even one available. I would rate this product nine out of ten.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The timesheets in Paycor are better than those in Workday."
"Once you get the feel of it and learn how to use it, the ease of use and performance are the most valuable features."
"I would rate scalability a nine out of ten."
"The feature that I have found most valuable is having the sources so that you're able to adapt the product to your needs. That was a big benefit."
"The beauty of using the on-premises solution is having customizations according to business requirements, because business requirements are not always aligned with the out-of-the-box product."
"We're able to do far better data collection using CRM; far better than anything we had in the past."
"With the way that my agency uses PeopleSoft, the most valuable feature of it is the ability it gives us to track our contracts and the release against those contracts."
"The customizations allow us to come up with a lot of complex labor rules. In the Philippines, there's a lot of different kinds of rules you need to be in compliance with. The solution offers up a lot of flexibility and customization that is perfect for our region's requirements."
"Our end process is going through multiple procure-to-pay systems, so the most valuable feature of PeopleSoft is the collaboration that it provides between our procurement/purchasing and accounts payable."

Cons

"The UI must be more advanced."
"My developers want to use more HTML instead of the specialized tool, PeopleTools because, they say, it's better from a user perspective."
"They cannot go and get a report that easily."
"I would like to see better support, bug fixing, and documentation."
"First-level support is poor, but second-level support has been fantastic."
"The Time and Labor module is not that flexible."
"An area for improvement would be PeopleSoft's global payroll capabilities, which could be easier to use."
"The bugs are always in the latest release, so I always tell my client to be one release behind, let somebody else find all those bugs, and their response time in fixing those bugs sometimes takes a little while."
"The turnaround time is a little long."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The tool is cost-effective."
"I don't know if they are still providing licenses or if they have suspending licenses."
"PeopleSoft has a yearly maintenance fee."
"The expenses related to the solution are nominal."
"The tool is expensive."
"The licensing cost for PeopleSoft is 3,500 per course and the annual subscription fee is 6,500."
"I would consider this to be an expensive product, but the quality justifies it."
"I would rate the pricing an eight out of ten, with ten being expensive."
"The main issue we have with the solution is that it is very expensive."

The pricing is customer-specific, so I am not generally privy to what the pricing for licensing is. However, generally, I think PeopleSoft is certainly cheaper than cloud solutions.
