Secure and simplify API management with effective deployment options
In our organization, we use Oracle API Platform Cloud Service primarily to host and manage our middleware APIs. Our middleware APIs are registered on this platform and exposed to a fixed domain, which supports our organizational goals effectively Since our enterprise has many APIs, Oracle API…

Easy to deploy APIs and easy to manage CORS configuration
I have used WSO2 Store and WSO2 API Manager at the architecture level. I worked on two versions, namely WSO2 API Manager 2.6.0 and 5.7.0. I have also worked with WSO2 Identity Server versions 5.7 and 5.11. There are certain things that Apigee handles better than WSO2 API Manager. The user interface of WSO2 API Manager is much easier than that of Apigee. The scope of flexibility was much greater in Apigee. In WSO2 API Manager, we had little flexibility and were restricted to a specific software or tool. On the other hand, we had the scope of customization in Apigee.

"Oracle's APIP CS is a platform capable for consistently covering the complete API Lifecycle from design to retirement, supporting an API-first approach."
"Oracle API Platform Cloud Service's UI is quite user-friendly and supports a hybrid deployment model."
"I find the customizable dashboards convenient. When you have a privatized dashboard, it's easy to log in, get an immediate snapshot of what's happening, and quickly address any problems."
"The most valuable features are the easy integration with the Oracle cloud, and that it's easy to use."
"The solution is stable."
"All API usage is now governed and tracked."
"The Gateways are communicating with a Management Service, which lives in the Cloud, to send usage information or to fetch changes for the deployed APIs."
"The security mode and the deployment process are significant assets, offering simplified deployment and effective troubleshooting options, including Docker support."
"A complete integration suite and a good platform."
"WSO2 API Manager has a user-friendly model."
"Its open-source features are very good, especially for your production work."
"The documentation is good."
"The most interesting feature is its Mac-based function."
"WSO2 API Manager is open-source, which offers a range of features not found in other open-source API tools."
"It's a good product."
"API management lifecycle is the most valuable."

Cons

"In future updates, we might be interested to see more enhancements after exploring the existing features over the next year."
"There should be closer integration between the API Platform Cloud Service and the Identity Cloud Service to allow IDCS Applications, protecting backend systems, to be linked to the API Applications that consumers use to access APIs."
"Even when an API is functioning correctly, there seems to be a glitch within OCI (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure)."
"Oracle API Platform Cloud Service provides an API documentation tool, which is quite outdated."
"In the next release, I would like to see more security policies and for it to include an on-cloud gateway."
"The solution's cost in terms of scaling could be better."
"I would like to see enhanced support for SOAP Service and the corresponding WS-Security policies."
"The professional support and licensing aspects of WSO have been a challenge."
"In WSO2 API Manager, we had little flexibility and were restricted to a specific software or tool."
"WSO2 API Manager should improve its marketplace subscription model and documentation in order to reach a higher level in the market."
"WSO2 API Manager could improve by adding external API security features, which is one area where there is room for enhancement. Internally, API security is strong, and all other necessary features are already available. It has a solid marketplace, supports both Docker and standalone setups, and offers great enterprise integration. The developer portal has greatly improved the user experience, making it simple and user-friendly wherever we’ve implemented it. Overall, it’s not as complicated as other API gateways."
"Lacks some new features and updated functionalities."
"From a product perspective, the first thing is that although the documentation provided by WSO2 is good, it could be much better. We're in the middle of a complex migration, moving away from VMs to Kubernetes with the latest version of WSO2 and good documentation is essential to us right now."
"Dashboards for application monitoring of the APIs would be beneficial, allowing us to check for faulty APIs."
"We had some problems with the reverse proxy not being able to invoke fully qualified domain names, so we have to build some custom scripts to solve this issue."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The pricing is for each logical gateway (a logical gateway can have multiple physical nodes)."
"The solution is expensive to scale."
"Pricing depends on the specific services used."
"Oracle API Platform Cloud Service is a cheap solution."
"There is a subscription-based pricing structure and also the open-sourced version available."
"WSO2 API Manager is a costly solution, and its pricing is not competitive enough compared to other products."
"My previous company paid about 1.2 million dollars, and my current company pays about 300k. Both companies are at the enterprise level."
"I think the other competitors that are providing the same solution are quite expensive. WSO2 API Manager is quite cheap."
"We use the open-source version — the free version."
"It is costly, around ten thousand per year, per instance"
"We have not opted for the paid version of WSO2 but we have implemented the free and open source WSO2 software to a great extent and it is working as per our expectation."
"For our projects, we found the pricing to be a little high."
