Has significantly improved document-driven workflows and reduced processing time across finance and HR functions
Automation Anywhere has evolved significantly and upgraded itself to provide agentic AI and AI-based automation solutions for document automation. The product has matured considerably over time. We can create workflows that can call an API. We can include prompts in particular workflows for ChatGPT-related functions, connecting to an LLM and RAG to perform tasks. For document automation, modern features are available to train documents, ensuring high accuracy and repeatability over time. The system is very easy to use. I recently completed a course in document automation, typically designed for people involved in coding and technical aspects. Though I understand coding comprehensively, I don't do actual coding. The course was very accessible. Currently, extensive coding isn't necessary due to the hybrid model incorporating GenAI aspects, low-code, no-code capabilities, APIs, and numerous pre-built objects in Automation Anywhere. The features include GenAI-driven prompting methods and workflow creation capabilities. In these workflows, we can create decision boxes and call APIs without coding. We simply pull objects, drop them, connect them, and add minimal coding when needed. The most crucial aspect isn't coding but rather sizing the automation and fleshing out the details. Automation Co-pilot takes notes and performs automated analysis. It can extract details from videos, summarize conversations, and provide detailed information. During calls, it identifies instructions and performs tasks such as preparing reports and reconciliation. Automation Anywhere can also connect with Microsoft Co-pilot. Through Co-pilot, real-time operations can be executed, allowing direct interaction between vendors and automation through this component.

We've used it for traditional help desk and defect tracking endeavors
It is the Swiss Army knife of software applications. If you have a process, SBM can be easily used to track and report on that process We've used it for traditional help desk and defect tracking endeavors, but we've also used it for HR, Marketing, and even some non-traditional government…

Data processing efficiency increases with workflow automation but could improve on handling high volume data
The most valuable feature of Workato is that billing is based on task actions; whatever actions we take on the Workato platform will determine the task consumption and billing for each workflow. More optimized workflows lead to less billing for clients. Furthermore, they have introduced a Copilot feature for automation, helping build recipes and code with simple prompts. Additionally, they are developing AI solutions for clients. These are some top features, along with various others implemented per client specifications, such as CICD implementation and runtime connection changes. The benefits of using Workato for our customers include automating business workflows and data integration. By addressing their manual efforts, which are time-consuming and prone to errors, Workato helps clients reduce costs while increasing productivity. We implement solutions that enable seamless data integration between different systems, minimizing time-consuming manual processes. A positive impact we see is cost reduction, as manual efforts are significantly lowered. For example, in production support teams, manual processes are streamlined through CICD implementation, allowing for a seamless integration of different environments with minimal errors and faster deployment.

Quotes from Members

Pros

"Automation Anywhere stands out because it has brought productivity to the organization, improved customer service, accelerated business growth, and allowed for faster innovation."
"You do not need to have IT skills. I come from a finance background, so I can attest to the fact that you do not need IT skills to use Automation Anywhere to leverage it on your teams."
"Sometimes the customer will not provide any data. Using Automation Anywhere, we can easily automate to capture the customer data. Then, we can use that customer data inside the Cisco Unified Wire Voice Portal."
"What I appreciate the most about Automation Anywhere is that the end-user experience is superior to any of the other tools on the market that we've looked at."
"Automation Anywhere has made it very easy for you to install, they've got the tools to make it very simple for you to create a quick, small application and to get out there."
"Automation Anywhere has had a huge impact in my organization, especially in saving time and compliance-related process automation by reducing errors drastically and ensuring quick processing of requests with proper logs available for the audit team."
"Allows us to automate work flows to provision IS services."
"There was a significant ROI, as the development of weekly metrics from Excel spreadsheets, Lotus Notes databases, Access databases, and some Word documents went from a two to three day affair to a process that now takes seconds."
"Estimates from all teams are visible in one general ticket (PFC)."
"The Composer is absolutely a magical tool, allowing you to get a fully functional app based on your process sketch in a couple of hours, without knowing BPMN notation."
"It's easy to understand, makes flows and is efficient."
"It is easier to use than other technical open-source technologies."
"Personally, I enjoy using Workato, and my company feels that it results in significant time savings since it is easy to understand and allows new team members to onboard quickly."
"The most valuable features are easy integration, quick tab to develop, quick tab to market, and interactive integration platform."
"The integration was done within a week, what we thought might take us two months to complete."
"Workato has positively impacted my organization by improving processes overall, as it has saved time because it was easy to connect through the UI without needing technical, detailed coding experience."
"Workato allows us to streamline our operations by replacing multiple legacy systems with a single integrated platform."
"I definitely recommend Workato to others; it is the best product in our technology stack, allowing us to integrate legacy systems and address diverse requirements."

Cons

"We are still looking into some of its current capabilities, like IT Bot."
"Technical support needs to be much faster."
"Triggers work in the attended mode on Automation Anywhere. I would love it if we could use triggers in the unattended mode too. This way we can use the feature more in our IT sector. E.g., when any service or folder is accessed by unauthorized person, we want to be able to get an immediate trigger, even on "out of office", this would be helpful for my organization."
"The pricing, setup cost, and licensing of the platform are the worst. This is my major concern and complaint."
"The OCR can be a little better because sometimes while scrapping, it leads to data loss."
"The customization feature should be made more user-friendly in order to enable the use of external reference components."
"I want Automation Anywhere to work on IQ Bot further to help evolve the tool more and create a certain set of solutions using IQ Bot. They can maybe use better machine learning algorithms to come up with better accuracy for OCR extractions. This is an area that I want them to work on."
"Automation Anywhere could improve by incorporating better integration with DevOps."
"Reporting is generally very good, but people always want more."
"User interface and links between tickets. For me, Jira is the ideal tool."
"Response time could improve."
"The management dashboard in the solution is an area with shortcomings that needs improvement."
"The data flow and debugging processes need improvement, especially for tracing issues."
"The customization capabilities could be enhanced significantly. Having used other integration tools such as Boomi and MuleSoft in the past, the features in Workato appear to be at a primitive stage."
"Based on my experience, it would be really beneficial if the unit tests were improved because when you change a recipe significantly, they do not work anymore, and you have to remake them all."
"Currently, Workato is a low-code platform without native programming capabilities. I would appreciate having a dedicated programming language for tasks like transformations and functional programming."
"There are areas of Workato that have room for improvement, and they continue to develop their AI capabilities."
"However, their API management is not very good, and their EDI pieces are not strong."
"I would say customer support is good, but I cannot classify it as very good as my personal experience varies."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Despite being less expensive than UiPath, Automation Anywhere remains cost-prohibitive for many small and medium-sized businesses."
"They are already coming out with a community license, which is really good. That's something that I wish to have."
"In the Indian market, I feel that for mid-size companies, such as ourselves, that having multiple bots costs a lot. If Automation Anywhere wants to expand in the Indian market, they will need to look at their pricing."
"The licensing cost of Automation Anywhere is better than UiPath and Blue Prism."
"Cost-wise, it is fine. A lot of medium businesses prefer Automation Anywhere. The development cost is also lower."
"We would like them to change the license model of charging per bot."
"The pricing and licensing of Automation Anywhere plays an important rule in the Indian market because in the Indian market $10,000 USD is too much. Hence, the pricing tends to go down depending on the customer relationship with the partner: A starter pack is $10,000 and an enterprise pack is $100,000. If you go through an implementation partner, you can get good deals. They can save some money."
"The cost can be reduced a little for users."
Information not available
"On a scale of one to ten, the pricing is around a six. We have a consumption model and the pricing is higher. If you are using any kind of ML-based approach, machine learning, or some advanced analytics, you may have to pay more."
"Workato is an expensive solution."
"Speaking about price, I would say that it's market-related. Also, there are costs in addition to the standard license fees since different add-ons depend on what you require."
