Asset dashboards have created slow, rigid workflows and have limited effective life cycle tracking
The single dashboards do not help my team or the company as a whole. I feel the dashboards are not helpful because the search features are not customizable. The software is web-based and the server is extremely slow. To improve Endevor, its cloud or web-based server capabilities should be increased so that the software is faster. The ability to customize reports should be increased.

We've used it for traditional help desk and defect tracking endeavors
It is the Swiss Army knife of software applications. If you have a process, SBM can be easily used to track and report on that process We've used it for traditional help desk and defect tracking endeavors, but we've also used it for HR, Marketing, and even some non-traditional government…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"They provide answers and solutions."
"The management and information CA Endevor Software Change Manager provides is very useful."
"Adaptable to respond to all customer needs: It is configuration management software."
"Any question that an auditor has about our processes and approvals is all stored in Endevor."
"The quick edit function allows our dev staff to make modifications easily as well as maintain version control in case they want to regress or go back to a prior version."
"I have been in this world for quite a few years and I have not seen anything that is even close to doing what Endevor does."
"The tools are specifically designed for mainframe environments, providing features tailored to the unique requirements of the systems, ensuring there are no mistakes."
"My understanding is that Endever is one of the better software exchange management systems out there."
"Estimates from all teams are visible in one general ticket (PFC)."
"Allows us to automate work flows to provision IS services."
"There was a significant ROI, as the development of weekly metrics from Excel spreadsheets, Lotus Notes databases, Access databases, and some Word documents went from a two to three day affair to a process that now takes seconds."
"The Composer is absolutely a magical tool, allowing you to get a fully functional app based on your process sketch in a couple of hours, without knowing BPMN notation."

Cons

"Endevor has not impacted my organization positively, if at all."
"As a release tool, there probably could have been some additional enhancements, but it was effective."
"Learning the tool for the first time was extremely difficult, and it could be because of all the other processes we had around it. But knowing you can do these things in batch, you can do things in the foreground or online mode, and then these, you have to have a package for. There are these rules, and some of the concepts inside the tool are not clear, like what is the CCID? Why do I have to have one? What is that? And how is it used? As a developer, it's not important to me - I don't know what a CCID is, and I don't care - but apparently it's important to someone."
"Interfacing with some change control products that are not CA's, it's a little glitchy on the approvals of changes. It requires special needs for the users for approvals."
"If I had to comment on an area of improvement or something new in the next or future version, I would like to see AI-assisted coding and impact analysis for mainframes."
"Needs more audit capability when it comes to changes to settings that are made by administrators, as many of these are done through the panels and are therefore not logged as an action against a configuration item."
"It's complex because it depends upon your development architecture. Also, it's reached the limits of automation and freedom given to end users."
"There should be better integration between CA Endevor Software Change Manager and Zowe."
"Response time could improve."
"User interface and links between tickets. For me, Jira is the ideal tool."
"Reporting is generally very good, but people always want more."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It's competitively priced and, as far as I know, it's just an enterprise license. We have found it is worth the money."
"It's worth the value. The pricing is fairly good, justifiable for the return on investment."
"Licensing is fairly simple, you don't need multiple licenses."
"The product is expensive."
"The solution is very expensive."
"Just make sure if you are going to license, ensure you license the right features."
