A robust product that needs to improve the functionality it offers related to API lifecycle management
Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a six to seven out of ten. My company consists of around 7000 employees, and we use the solution as an integrated service in around 300 to 400 systems, both internally and externally, making it a huge number. Our company uses the solution every minute and every second, and we can't function without it.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The core is very stable."
"The process-oriented solution allows you to define choreography and orchestration."
"One of our clients is a signature company and developed on a classic Java enterprise application using OpenESB, and in one year they saved £20,000,000 on development and maintenance."
"OpenESB pushes the organization to clearly define service boundaries and interfaces. So it motives the business and the development teams to clearly define their business services and processes they want to implement. OpenESB supports fine and coarse-grain granularity for the services and supports top-down and bottom-up approaches for the services, processes definition, and composition."
"ESL Gaming used OpenESB for its scalability and processes 1 billion of messages daily with a large configuration deployed on a private cloud."
"One of the most valuable features is being able to implement business processes while keeping track of the design from BPMN to a BPEL Implementation."
"One of the most valuable features is being able to implement business processes while keeping track of the design from BPMN to a BPEL Implementation."
"Millions of people were connecting every month on the system and there were no issues."
"The most attractive and beneficial feature is the ease of development."
"The solution is very stable."
"It's very stable and reliable."
"It is easy to develop. It has a very wide range of features. The older versions are very stable, and there are no issues with the product."
"The most valuable feature of the solution is that the performance is robust."
"The technology is really easy to learn."
"The product’s most valuable feature is stability."
"TIBCO has the platform in terms of speed and ease of use."

Cons

"Regarding its management, a web console being able to synchronize distributed instances would be great."
"The documentation of the product must be improved. It could be tricky to find the right documentation on a topic since the documentation is spread in many places."
"The documentation of the product must be improved. It could be tricky to find the right documentation on a topic since the documentation is spread in many places. I advise the new joiner to contact the community to get entry points and additional documentation. Tutorial and Video must be present to take up the product."
"The documentation needs to be better — maybe they could add more accurate tutorials."
"Cloud deployment is weak and needs to be improved."
"Cloud deployment is weak and needs to be improved."
"The Studio is a good tool based on NetBeans, but some of its features have to be improved, liked local schemas management."
"The documentation needs to be better."
"The solution is very expensive when you use multiple components, it would b better if this could be reduced."
"The biggest disadvantage of TIBCO is that it is expensive; it's just too costly."
"Issues with the support, the fees, and the termination of the professional services are reasons we are looking for other solutions."
"The intermediate version that we are using has stability issues. These stability issues should be resolved, but it seems like TIBCO is not focusing on resolving these issues. The resolution timelines are quite high even for high-priority incidents. Its price should be lower. Its licensing cost is considerably high as compared to other ESBs."
"In the configuration, where we need to customize, it takes more time than we expect it to, ideally."
"Migration from BW 5.x to 6.x still has issues."
"The stability of their latest version is not on par with their classic version 5.X."
"The initial setup process could be easier."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The cost for the prediction instrument is high because it is charged per instances based on prediction, but the rest of the solution is free."
"There are two versions. The first is the community version, which is free and contains the last part of the feature, but if you want to get the Enterprise version, you'll have to pay €60,000 which covers support and two instances on production."
"The Community Edition is a full product you can use in production, it does not have limitations like other alternatives."
"The licensing cost is a challenge for quite a few customers."
"The biggest issue disadvantage of TIBCO is that it is expensive."
"Price-wise, I would say that the product is expensive."
"The price is on the higher side. For the same price, if I go to the previous version, I would have got a lot more capacity with similar kinds of features."
"Its licensing cost is considerably high as compared to other ESBs."
"When it comes to cost, TIBCO is much more competitive than a product like Pega."
