A robust product that needs to improve the functionality it offers related to API lifecycle management
Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a six to seven out of ten. My company consists of around 7000 employees, and we use the solution as an integrated service in around 300 to 400 systems, both internally and externally, making it a huge number. Our company uses the solution every minute and every second, and we can't function without it.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable feature of this solution is that you can connect with different applications."
"There are always continuous improvements that are happening."
"The flexibility offered by Oracle Service Bus, especially in the latest versions, includes abstracting underlying processes and enabling drag-and-drop mappings from source to destination."
"The communication between applications is already defined, which means that you don't have to redefine your service infrastructure at the lower level."
"The stability is consistently high, with only one notable issue encountered."
"Even though we had been using Oracle BPEL, we had to go with Oracle Service Bus because it is able to handle JSON inputs, and we were amazed by its flexibility in accepting incoming messages."
"With Oracle Service Bus, we can connect with different types of systems. Another feature I like the most is the security feature."
"We are using Oracle Service Bus to connect between API management and microservices, for example, for data transformation, bringing data from a specific form in one service to another form in a different service."
"The most valuable features are the monitoring, ease of use, and easy to understand development GUI."
"The GUI and IDE features of this solution are easy to work with and to develop. We find application management easy using this solution. It is a stable product"
"It is easy to develop. It has a very wide range of features. The older versions are very stable, and there are no issues with the product."
"TIBCO has proven to be far superior, and we later realized that the capabilities that TIBCO had were far, far superior to what Oracle was able to offer so we chose TIBCO instead."
"The product’s most valuable feature is stability."
"The most valuable feature is that it is a service-oriented architecture, SOA-based."
"The solution is very stable."
"This is a user-friendly product stack and provides you with a reliable, robust, and high-performance Integration solution."

Cons

"With the most recent version, 12c, I'm still getting used to using it, learning how to use it, how to configure it. The Oracle documentation is OK, but there aren’t a lot of good examples for me to follow."
"There are issues, especially if you want to create some compensation in your service bin."
"The weak point of OSB is the single point of failure."
"The microservices portion of Oracle Service Bus needs some improvement. Compared to MuleSoft, MuleSoft is much easier to use and deploy than what is currently available in Oracle Service Bus."
"If they can containerize this, that would be nice. If they can provide docker images and offer support for those containers, that would be great."
"It would be ideal if they could optimize it a bit."
"The error-handling capability can be improved"
"The initial setup is likely complex for many organizations."
"The solution is very expensive when you use multiple components, it would be better if this could be reduced."
"I don't like the product's API management platform, as it doesn't offer users enough functionality to help with API lifecycle management, making it a product that is way behind its competitors."
"The biggest disadvantage of TIBCO is that it is expensive; it's just too costly."
"If TIBCO could be able to sort the size of their base image in the Container edition, it would be really marvelous. Right now it's around 299 MB. We'd really want it to reduce to a few MBs."
"Issues with the support, the fees, and the termination of the professional services are reasons we are looking for other solutions."
"Whenever there is some kind of challenge or whenever there is a client issue, when we want to report it and offer some proactive solutions, we don't get proper assistance or support."
"Migration to cloud solutions or products should be made convenient, transparent, and easily understandable."
"The stability of their latest version is not on par with their classic version 5.X."
