Gained full visibility and streamlined threat detection through behavior-based insights and AI integration
Initially, we got to have a lot of false positives when we onboarded, but nowadays it's quite smooth. We have fine-tuned our security policies and allowed different levels of policies to get rid of those false positives. Currently, we are getting a fairly good amount of incidents that are not false positives or benign, but actionable items. The process is streamlined. In the initial days, the operations used to get involved in a lot of benign and other activities, but now the process is streamlined. We are leveraging the auto-detection and remediation plans. The operations teams are now more involved in other business roles as well, not just looking into the logs and fetching out what's happening there. They have fixed a lot of things. Initially, they didn't have IAC code drift detection, cloud posture management, or security posture management, but they have those now. They purchased different vendors and did a merger with that. They have now Prisma Cloud that gets integrated and now they are working with Cortex Cloud. Everything that was negative has now been addressed, and the product altogether looks to be in a very better and mature shape now. Currently, it's more or less detecting the workloads with AI-based best practices. Since most organizations are consuming AI agents and other things, we are looking forward to seeing what other feature enhancements Palo Alto can support in that.

Have maintained strong endpoint protection through behavioral analysis and daily monitoring
I previously mentioned that Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business doesn't have built-in DLP, which was a concern. I think they could add it in the future; however, antivirus cannot provide a proper DLP solution, but they can offer a mix of DLP, similar to Trend Micro Apex One, which provides some sort of DLP file management. Nonetheless, we need a proper DLP solution such as Forcepoint or Symantec, whichever suits us. We'll be conducting performance evaluation in the next quarter while working on other projects. More value means a better GUI, user interface, and comprehensive reporting capabilities. In Sophos, we receive a daily system-generated report about what is happening, plus an alert system. The reporting system in Trend Micro is also excellent; I receive an email every day at 10:00 AM with a report for the last 24 hours.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The biggest positive impact I see from Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks is a significant reduction in the number of people required to manage it."
"Its interface and pricing are most valuable, and it is better than other vendors in terms of security."
"It blocks malicious files, prevents attacks, and doesn't require many updates because it is a very light application."
"The positive impacts I see from Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks include a complete 360-degree view of our security posture altogether, being a uniform platform where we are ingesting logs from multiple resources."
"The stability of the solution is very good. We have about 100 users on it right now, and we use it twice a week."
"Palo Alto is constantly adding new features."
"Cortex XDR is stable, offering high quality and reliable performance."
"Automation and playbooks have helped me significantly, as Cortex Xnor's playbooks predefine the workflow of the automation, such as response processes, alert triggering, and enriching the context, efficiently detecting and blocking malicious attacks with firewalls while eliminating workload and speeding responses for next-generation operations."
"The solution is secure."
"It's flexible, and Kaspersky Endpoint Security's performance is good. Also, the pricing is fine."
"After almost ten years of use by a client, Kaspersky has not allowed any penetration of ransomware or any other viruses."
"We use it at our enterprise, and it's been extremely beneficial."
"The security of the solution is very good; it helps us avoid viruses very effectively, and the solution is very user-friendly and easy to use."
"The tool's interface is good."
"As far as it functions, it works fine."
"It is very reliable, user-friendly endpoint security software."
"Working as part of our security stack, it has protected us from countless attacks."
"We've not had any issues with scalability. If an organization needs to expand, they can do so quite easily."
"It is very lightweight on the workstations, not slowing them down while still doing its job very well."
"Auto-Remediation"
"This is a great solution - it helped us a lot without business and improved the security we're offering to our customers."
"The most valuable features of the solution include the endpoint navigation protection, the protection related to the EMS service, as well as the control and the cloud integration capabilities."
"Speed"
"It is excellent endpoint protection for mobiles that does everything it says it will."

Cons

"I would like to see some additional features related to email protection included."
"They are charging for Network Traffic Analyzer (NTA) services, so if the per GB data could be provided at a certain level free of cost or at the same cost which the customer is taking for the entire bundle, that would be better."
"The solution lacks real-time, on-demand antivirus."
"I don't like that they have different types of licenses. For example, if users select a license, they think they will have all the platforms they need to improve their network or security. But after some time, Palo Alto Networks changed their licensing, and some of the features that, for example, were free at the beginning now have a cost. I think the integration can be improved. For example, a lot of tools are just integrated through APIs."
"The product's pricing could be better."
"Currently, we are monitoring all USB drives and ports but we would like to improve our device control capabilities."
"Being able to filter the events to see those that are related to the actual alert would save time spent by the engineer."
"Cortex XDR could be improved with more GUI features."
"The product is expensive."
"I would like to have more forensic features. For example, if we are hit by an attack, I would like to have tools to investigate what kind of attack, who has attacked, how it was attacked, and what we could do to stop this kind of attack in the future. I would like to have more forensics capability built into Kaspersky."
"Licensing fees are expensive."
"We have experienced problems with downloads and integration in the past."
"There are times when we see an agent has been disabled on a machine, and we are not able to determine the reason."
"The solution could be more secure. It's an aspect the company needs to be mindful of."
"The reports and email notifications have room for improvement."
"The product needs to incorporate training programs or webinars for users. The solution needs to improve its support as well. It also needs to detect ransomware."
"Their customer support should be better. We started having some issues with it, and we didn't get the required support."
"I'm not happy with Webroot Business Endpoint Protection, for only one reason. It seems that it slows down my interface when I'm doing programming in Microsoft Access, tremendously."
"I want Webroot to be easier to use and set up. It is not very intuitive."
"They should provide more information on the type of cyber attacks."
"An updated UI would be nice, but is not hardly used."
"It needs to improve the problems with the faster connection, and have a huge reduction in false positives."
"Its detection capability for certain attacks should be improved. It should have better and wider detection for certain malware attacks. It could also have some sort of RMN."
"Usually, when it comes to reliability, McAfee and Norton are at 99 percent. Webroot's percentage is lower."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The tool's price is moderate."
"It's way too expensive, but security is expensive. You pay for your licensing, and then you pay for someone to monitor the stuff."
"I feel it is fairly priced."
"The solution has one subscription for endpoint protection and one subscription for detection and response. The two licenses combined give you the BRO version."
"Very costly product."
"Every customer has to pay for a license because it doesn't work with what you get from a managed services provider."
"The solution is expensive. It's pricing is on a yearly-basis."
"Cortex XDR's pricing is ok."
"The solution is comparatively priced."
"It is quite standard, because we use the volume licensing."
"I prefer paying for a yearly license because it has some discounts. One of the companies I work for pays for the Business Select license, for 100 users."
"We pay a yearly annual subscription for this product."
"This solution is priced lower than some of its competitors. The support from Kaspersky is purchased separately."
"We have approximately 700 licenses for this solution and we pay annually."
"The product is available at a low price."
"I received a very good deal with Kaspersky."
"The solution doesn't cost too much. It's about 30 Euros a year for each endpoint. It's pretty affordable for us and for many other companies."
"We evaluate other options using multiple choices, best value, management and functionality."
"With Webroot Business Endpoint Protection, I can select a yearly billing cycle."
"If you purchase for clients, then you are the managing billing entity. It's better to either get a monthly subscription check from your clients, or to prepay for the year (so as to not keep cash in reserve to pay the bill each month) IMHO."
"I can't recall the exact pricing, but I believe there is a monthly fee of $20-30 per user."
"We are on an annual subscription for the use of Webroot Business Endpoint Protection."
"The solution is very cost-effective."
"From a pricing standpoint, I would rate it a four out of five."
