Room For Improvement

Iboss struggles with Mac support, ISP integration in India, and needs improvements in security features and cloud integration.
JumpCloud users want better device management, security, support, integration, interface, reporting, and compatibility, especially for Apple devices.
StrongDM needs setup simplification, better pricing for small teams, feature improvements, and enhanced documentation and communication.
It is not as intuitive as the rest of the platform.

Network Administrator at a educational organization with 51-200 employees
Our iboss subscription access should be more secure with an OTP or VPN etc.
I believe the mobile device management, the MDM side of JumpCloud, could be enhanced further for more complex scenarios, and a more intuitive user interface for certain administrative tasks would be beneficial.
System Administrator at Mensa Brands
This would be helpful, especially for AWS users, by providing broader support for different cloud platforms and private cloud environments.
Senior DevOps Engineer at Alibaba Group
A tutorial on how to use some new features, such as RADIUS, or use cases that show the best practice on how to solve some cases would be beneficial.
Technical Support and Engineer at EIKON Technology
StrongDM has limited MFA and passwordless options, relying heavily on time-based one-time passwords (OTP) or Duo, lacking support for true passwordless setups like biometrics or hardware YubiKeys, and it does not support per-session MFA.
Senior Analyst at Toll Holdings Limited
It would be beneficial to have better control and alignment between frequent updates and improved communication regarding possible negative effects on existing customer bases.
Senior Data Engineer at a non-profit with 1,001-5,000 employees

Regarding pricing, setup costs, and licensing, iboss is not cheap, and that's my only concern.

JumpCloud licensing is based on how many users they register in JumpCloud, and each user can have multiple devices, up to three devices.
Technical Support and Engineer at EIKON Technology
My experience with the pricing, setup cost, and licensing of JumpCloud has been positive, as I am happy with the support provided, and this setup cost is effective.
System Administrator at Girnarcare

Cloud gateway has strengthened remote web security and now needs better Mac and ISP support
The problem our organization had is that iboss failed for the Mac devices. It is not able to give a successful agent for the Mac agents. That is where in 2025, we had to migrate to the Palo Alto-based platform. If your use case is for just Windows laptops, you can consider this platform as an option One issue is the data center resiliency part. In India especially, they are not tied up with the Tier 1 ISPs like Tata or Airtel; they were having Tier 2 ISPs and encountered many issues reaching few major sites that my organization depends on, and they were having problems that they could not fix quickly. They also lack a mechanism to route that traffic within their data center; rather, they ask customers to make a pac file change to route it to Singapore explicitly. It would be better if they route from their backend , i mean even if I send it to India DC, they should be able to route it internally to make that work; however, they fail to do that and ask the customer to route it in the pac file. Another suggestion is that in China, they do not have the proper setup; they used to have numerous problems with slowness and lack of premium circuits in China as well. That leads to multiple sites working slowly with latency-related issues. So the main issue is the ISP-related problems that need to be solved.

Unified directory and device management has streamlined remote workforce security and onboarding
JumpCloud can be improved in several areas. Some users feel the initial configuration can be complex, especially for larger organizations, and better guided onboarding could be helpful. Additionally, while its reporting and integrations are strong, more granular and customizable metrics and real-time alerts would be beneficial for advanced use cases. From my team's perspective, there is often a desire for even more intuitive administrative controls, particularly when managing complex policy sets. Enhanced integrations with specific industry-specific applications could provide even greater efficiency. It is about refining the user experience and expanding compatibility. Another area for potential enhancement could be customer support and resources. While generally good, faster response times and more comprehensive or specialized documentation could further improve the user experience, especially during complex deployments.

Centralized access has improved privileged control and now provides strong audit visibility
I believe StrongDM can improve its initial setup and onboarding experience for larger enterprise environments like Scania, where we have a lot of processes. Integrating different teams, access policies, and existing identity workflows requires substantial planning. Additionally, I think the dashboard customization and reporting could be more flexible for operational teams, though new teams find it manageable. Once the platform is fully integrated, it provides significant value. Apart from the onboarding experience, I would also mention that the templates for enterprise onboarding and policy setup could benefit from innovative thinking tailored to organizations managing large AWS and Kubernetes workloads. Enhanced customization in dashboards and reporting would further ease operations and provide better insights.
