Has supported centralized management of all Apple devices while ensuring high security and compliance
I have not encountered many areas for improvement, but there are feature requests submitted to Jamf Pro for reporting purposes that they are working on. Jamf Pro continues to increase its capabilities. One improvement I would recommend is integrating Jamf Setup Manager as an inbuilt feature. Currently, it is a separate tool that needs to be installed and integrated with Jamf Pro. Having zero-touch capability as an inbuilt feature would eliminate the need to work with scripts and configurations. The pricing of Jamf Pro is relatively high. Jamf Pro does not have a fixed price for all organizations. Based on my experience, they offer discounts inconsistently. Due to the high pricing, many organizations are moving to InTune and Workspace ONE. There are many other tools in the market for Mac OS device management, such as ScaleFusion, Addigy, and Kandji. Small organizations are moving to these alternatives, and larger organizations with fewer security concerns are moving to InTune. Despite being expensive, I still rate Jamf Pro highly because of its security features and comprehensive management capabilities for Mac OS devices.

Streamlined endpoint deployment has improved configuration and security workflows
It's a great tool that provides a lot of assistance from the Windows perspective with configuration and many other things. The newest feature that came up with AI is particularly valuable. I haven't used much of Windows Autopilot as it's very new to me. It's a cloud-based technology from Microsoft for performing the setup and pre-configuration of Windows devices. The way it assists in automated setup and streamlined deployment is great. I don't see any cons as of now.

Pros

"It is a first-rate product and well known in the industry as the gold standard for Apple device management."
"It's as easy as procuring the licensing for the apps and then setting it to the volume purchasing back in Jamf."
"I am most excited about a feature that is called User-Initialed Enrollment."
"The most valuable features are the restrictions, Lost Mode, Self Service, and full implementation of anything Apple will let MDM manage."
"The most valuable feature is the self-service, which lets users install their preferred application instead of installing all applications and filling the machine with junk."
"We were able to dramatically enhance our cybersecurity, and better support our users."
"Being able to easily deploy apps and patches to our client computers with minimal hands-on time from our techs has been huge."
"The most effective feature of Windows Autopilot for managing deployments is the automation."
"The solution is very stable."
"The way Windows Autopilot assists in automated setup and streamlined deployment is great."
"The most valuable aspect of Windows Autopilot is its automation features, which allow preset regulations and configurations."
"Its most valuable feature is imaging, it takes very less time for processing."
"Windows Autopilot automates much of the setup process when delivering computers with a specific image to multiple employees simultaneously. It streamlines the configuration loading process, making it more unattended and yielding consistent results. This eliminates the need for an engineer to input data on each machine manually."
"Windows Autopilot's most valuable features are its automatic enrollment functionality and ability to detect and configure new devices seamlessly."
"It is the only choice if you're managing Windows devices with Intune and Azure."

Cons

"It would be great for Jamf to provide templates for commonly used tasks like updating an operating system, packaging commonly used apps like Office 365, or enabling FileVault."
"Jamf could improve versioning as in outright blocking OS upgrades OR improving maintaining every application’s update feature. As of now, only some apps, like Flash, have managed updates."
"The user interface could be somewhat easier in terms of finding things."
"I would like to see Jamf add more training tutorials and documentation."
"Currently, you need to scroll through pages and pages of icons (we have many icons that have been uploaded), and it can be tedious."
"Training should be more accessible and cheaper."
"Jamf Pro could be improved by providing more out-of-the-box integration with other systems such as Active Directory, Single Sign-On (SSO) solutions, and other IT management tools."
"There is still no feature for properly patching T2 Security Chip-enabled Macs."
"The Azure and Intune platform is not always available and quite often, there are service outages."
"Windows Autopilot could improve its user interface. While it is a good tool, there are other options available that are more user-friendly."
"The Azure and Intune platform is not always available and quite often, there are service outages."
"We encounter issues with re-registering devices in the Azure domain."
"They could provide an executable and user-friendly wizard for installation and automatic removal, making it easier for users."
"If Microsoft can automatically add the license serial numbers, or have a method for us to get those serial numbers added to Windows Autopilot, apart from having to go through the device manufacturer that would greatly improve the solution."
"Windows Autopilot could improve its user interface. While it is a good tool, there are other options available that are more user-friendly."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"We have signed a licensing contract for three years. There is an option to buy an annual license subscription, but we opted for three years as it came with a 25% or 30% discount."
"With respect to pricing, Jamf Pro is the better bet."
"JumpStart is available at an additional cost."
"It seems fair. It could be a little bit less, but you have to pay for a product. You can't get something for free. You get what you pay for, so if you put in a little bit of money, you're going to get a good quality product."
"Cloud is worth the small increase in price, but make the switch before you need it, and not during a global pandemic."
"The price difference between Jamf Pro and VMware Workspace One is not very much, but when counting the cost of my time, Jamf Pro is clearly much better."
"They have a standard pricing model which they follow, and it's global."
"The cost of Jamf is certainly worth the investment."
"We are required to have a license for either EMS, E5, or E2."
"As far as I know, there isn't an additional cost specifically for Windows Autopilot itself. You'll need to consider the licensing fees for the software you install on the machines, such as Windows and Office. Overall, it is a valuable tool that simplifies the deployment process, making life easier for those involved."
