We use Ivanti Tunnel to provide and publish access to on-premise applications The product's interface needs improvement. I rate the product's stability a ten out of ten. One of our Ivanti Tunnel's customers manages 300 end users, and another customer manages 200 end users. I rate its…

User management has simplified internal VPN access and now provides clear visibility and control
I do not use any role defining features because it is a really small organization, so it wasn't required, but it is there if needed. I have seen OpenVPN Access Server integrations such as LDAP, RADIUS, PAM, and SAML, but again, due to the size of the company, it wasn't necessary and we didn't have it inside the company. However, it was nice that it is already embedded inside. We haven't used much in terms of integrations with OpenVPN Access Server, so it's hard to say. We only used basic features there. My advice for others looking to implement OpenVPN Access Server is that it is at least worth trying if you need a fast and easy implementation solution without technical overhead and you just need VPN access, which is supported by all operating systems and mobile operating system vendors. It is definitely worth a try. OpenVPN Access Server was purchased directly from the website, not on the AWS marketplace or through a partner purchase. I would rate this product an overall eight out of ten.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The technical support team provides good services and faster response times."
"I have set the default routes to the VPN server so that all traffic is encrypted."
"The solution is reliable, easy to use, and open source. It's free at no cost."
"If you're looking for a solid solution to establish VPN tunnels between sites, be sure to put OpenVPN on your list to check out."
"The main benefits that I have seen from using OpenVPN Access Server are that it is simple, easy, and secure."
"It allows our employees to work remotely across Mac, Windows, and Linux platforms."
"In my opinion, the most useful function in OpenVPN Access Server is the user management feature, which I regularly use to manage the users and the concurrent sessions."
"There is support for multi-factor authentication."
"It is open source and therefore affordable for small projects."

Cons

"The product's interface needs improvement."
"I think right now the GUI part of it is locked out behind the pay wall. It could use something that gives it a very basic, minimal, graphic interface for logging in, for the community version. That would probably be a good step forward."
"It should automate our processes."
"We occasionally have internet issues which affect stability."
"I would like to see a simpler interface, so that we can make the connection between the local network using the LAN IP."
"There could be an easier way to set up the solution. However, if you use the provided information that comes with the solution there should not be a problem."
"I rate the price for OpenVPN as overpriced at the moment."
"The high availability deployment is not very straightforward. They can make it simpler. OpenVPN does not support some of the additional protocols that Pulse Secure and Cisco AnyConnect support. They can include support for these additional protocols."
"The logs should be made easier to read."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The product has average pricing."
"Begin with the community version and upgrade to paid one if the need arises."
"Open VPN Access Server is open-source and free of charge."
"I don't need to pay for its license since it is an open-source tool."
"It is an open-source solution, so we don't pay for anything."
"The product's pricing is good value, definitely. It is one of the best features, I would say. Evaluate the product before seeing which type of licensing is good for you. I think there is a good evaluation method available for OpenVPN, so you can just evaluate if it meets your needs. Then go forward with the right licensing policy."
"One of the valuable features of OpenVPN is that it is free for a single user."
"The product offers yearly as well as monthly subscription plans. It has moderate pricing."
"I would say the product's pricing is a good value. I would recommend to other companies to implement it. I've seen other software, in tandem with the service, to be very expensive."
