Advanced security reporting has protected high-traffic betting platforms from constant attacks
I don't see room for improvement to Cloudflare Web Application Firewall. One thing I don't know much about because we have a dedicated IT team for that, and I'm not involved with Cloudflare much anymore. But if I were to compare them to F5, I would like to see more features that F5 offers. F5 has an option to bring the whole infrastructure, the whole WAF and all their packages, Bot Management, and everything else on your infrastructure. You need to install certain services from their side, and then you can choose if you would like requests to hit your servers immediately or if requests need to be proxied through F5 backbone. That would be a nice addition because we have 90% of the traffic as legit traffic coming from whitelisted servers. If it comes from whitelisted servers, I don't need to go every request through the backbone; I could easily just IP whitelist everything. Then I could maybe have Bot Management on my infrastructure that drastically reduces the price of Cloudflare. I would like to see Push CDN more improved in the next release of Cloudflare Web Application Firewall. And maybe something similar to Pushpin that Fastly has, which is an option where you can push messages that then can be scaled globally over the network. From our perspective, if we have a listener that listens for stock updates, I would just need to have one processor that pushes those updates to the Cloudflare API, and then Cloudflare would broadcast that message to all listeners. Cloudflare will check the order of the message, and if you, as a customer, are not connected or have some kind of network issue, when you reconnect, you will receive the latest state and missing updates.

Provides comprehensive executive vulnerability scanning report for applications
Dashboards are very helpful for showcasing Top 5 attacked applications, Top 5 Vulnerable applications, and Top 5 Vulnerabilities affected in Applications. It helped me to prioritize the resources to secure and showcase the same to management. We don't need to analyze manually to identify all the applications and logs to find top priorities. The Apptrana helped to identify it.

Has significantly improved threat visibility and reduced false positives through intelligent bot detection and real-time analysis
The best features of Radware Cloud WAF Service that I prefer most include the bot protection. Its deployment was very smooth and flexible when I started deploying it. The reporting and visibility feature of the Bot Manager are noteworthy, as the dashboard gives clear insight into the traffic, activity, and block threats. The AI threat intelligence feature is quite impressive. In terms of blocking unknown threats and attacks, I assess Radware Cloud WAF Service as quite impressive; if I have to rate it out of 10, I would rate it eight and a half. The automated analytics for looking at events with Radware Cloud WAF Service is generally fine, and whenever we use it, it gives almost perfect results. In API protection with Radware Cloud WAF Service, we have multiple applications that we are using currently, and whenever there is any threat related to an API, it helps us provide detailed insight. Additionally, whenever there is unusual API traffic, it helps us monitor and detect threats.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The solution protects our application, which runs on the HTTP protocol, from DDoS attacks."
"Cloudflare WAF provides protection through rules and functionalities like Cloudflare's SDRAP."
"The most valuable part of the solution for us overall is exactly that it is a Software-as-a-Service product."
"We like that there's load balancing, firewall capabilities, DDoS protection, et cetera, all covered by Cloudflare."
"Technical support has a very fast response time and they are helpful."
"Very glad the WAF rulesets works out of box, and requires very little tuning or maintenance."
"Someone with a basic understanding of networking and security will be able to implement the firewall's basic features within 15 minutes."
"The stability of Cloudflare Web Application Firewall deserves a perfect 10 out of 10."
"We use Indusface AppTrana as a firewall."
"AppTrana helped us to protect the public-hosted Web, API, and Mobile applications by acting as a strong WAF solution which has Machine learning compatibility that analyzes and blocks the Behavior DDoS attacks."
"Our environment is safe due in part to behavior and anomaly detection, which provides IP-based, subnet-based, and country-based blocking."
"Radware Cloud WAF Service offers better protection and can even provide significantly better security."
"What I appreciate most about Radware Cloud WAF Service is that it includes all the aspects that an organization wants to run smoothly, such as overall configuration and real-time protection methods, customization of rule creation, fast deployment, and vital visibility in environment maintenance."
"The isolation feature is the most important one because everything is going directly to Radware first and then it goes into our system. What we get is the filtered version of everything that would otherwise come directly to us."
"Radware Cloud WAF Service has positively impacted my organization by providing peace of mind for the team and regulatory compliance, since having the application properly protected meets our banking field requirements."
"The API Discovery is also very good because the application is outsourced, which means that we don't have the code. API Discovery allowed me to discover precisely how to orchestrate the API so that I could see the results."
"A favorite feature of the Radware Cloud WAF Service is the OWASP Top 10; this is the basic feature, and they are getting into AI, which makes it quite smart."
"The solution requires very little maintenance; we install it, it works without any problems, is reliable, and we can almost forget about it."

Cons

"I have experienced some difficulties with Cloudflare's support as a customer based in India."
"Their documentation could be better. They don't have documentation that explains everything well. They have documentation for everything you're looking for, but they lack a single piece of documentation to tie everything together. As a new user or beginner, it took us a little bit of time to figure out how to put all these things in place."
"The product can improve by having more multitenancy capability, which is currently not available."
"The blocked logs are difficult to read at times."
"Cloudflare Web Application Firewall should improve visibility for a customer."
"The dashboard could be more user-friendly."
"Cloudflare should update the version of the ModSecurity core rule set that they run on."
"Cloudflare Web Application Firewall should include port forwarding features."
"The solution should add an enhanced dashboard to make it easy to navigate."
"AppTrana should improve its backend and frontend connections and loading speed. It is slower compared to other cloud solutions and sometimes it does not sync properly with front-end options and backend."
"Radware Cloud WAF Service has drawbacks when compared to other WAF solutions, particularly because we were checking other solutions that support custom ports for application onboarding."
"Additionally, alert messages for DDoS attacks or other things take time to reach us, causing delays in our response."
"The implementation was hit or miss for the first few months. They did some tweaking and, since then, there have been no problems."
"I'm not sure about how much historical traffic data we can access. Knowing the ability to view traffic from six months back would be beneficial for audit and compliance purposes, especially if an attack happens on an application."
"Something that could be added to Radware Cloud WAF Service would be a bit more training and not having to depend so much on the vendor, because sometimes when you have to configure advanced policies it requires a lot of experience and dependence on the vendor to provide support throughout the implementation of those advanced policies."
"There is a lot more that is expected from Radware's automated analytics for looking at events. There needs to be more context of where protection is required these days."
"In Radware Cloud WAF Service, the areas that have room for improvement include customization and personalized integration, as we faced multiple issues with those aspects during our deployment."
"Radware does not have much online training available to help customers get the most out of this solution."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The pricing model is very straightforward compared to the competition. You just pay per month for the product and usage."
"It is not too pricey."
"We pay $210 per month for CloudFlare WAF."
"The solution is expensive."
"Cloudflare Web Application Firewall is more affordable than other solutions."
"The annual licensing fee is $10,000 USD."
"Cloudflare offers different types of subscriptions for businesses, enterprises, and personal users, and the pricing is negotiable."
"What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? I believe the pricing is not the best, but it's reasonable and acceptable. We also use the McAfee system in parallel. In terms of pricing, its okay - not great, but not bad either. It falls in the middle, which is acceptable. In terms of support licensing, last time, we were searching for a solution, and we considered products from resellers rather than directly from the cloud provider. However, the pricing we encountered was exceptionally high. As a result, we are inclined to select support from the reseller."
"Indusface AppTrana is an affordable and cost-effective solution."
"We evaluated other options and, if I remember correctly, one of them was Fortinet, but they didn't seem as effective as Radware. But the price was the biggest difference. Radware had the best price for our type of network and level of scaling."
"The pricing is fair. We compared Radware to others using industry reviews and Radware is at the top right now."
"We are paying $20,000 annually for six licenses that provide basic WAF functionality."
"The pricing is fair; it's neither particularly cheap nor expensive."
"I believe the prices are fair."
"The price is a bulk average."
"The pricing is fair."
"For the current market, the price for Radware Cloud WAF Service is exactly where we want it to be."
