Strong single sign on security comes packaged with simplicity in this on-premises-only solution
We do not have a huge usage load in our implementation of the product at our company. We know this because we have been working with clients and speaking with them as users and they literally have thousands of users on the product. Based on their testimonial and their lack of problems in performance, the scalability is there. In our company on our projects, we stay in the range of only hundreds of users, which is very small in comparison. As far as the number of people we require for maintenance, we are the level two maintenance with the vendor. To use and to configure on the client's side — for our clients — they really should never require in excess of one person full-time or the equivalent. Sign&Go has got a pretty low administrative requirement as far as maintenance is concerned. On our side, as far as the second level of support, I would say we get very few requests for actual issues with the product. The product stability is good. So, as far as running the maintenance on our end, we tend to only have a request is when a client needs to integrate a new workstation or do something else to expand their operations.

Has an easy initial setup process, but its technical support services need improvement
The product's technical support could be better. The integration project requires a lot of technical details, so we need to find it quickly and easily. There was a large community of knowledge in the past. We kept it together and got the results. The community that works around the particular technical issue is shrinking. It used to be a specialized community that would help with the process. These particular areas need improvement. Broadcom is still using a hybrid cloud model, with some workloads on-premises and some in the cloud. They must start with the cloud adoption and move as many workloads to the cloud as possible. The on-premises environment is becoming stable. They need to rebuild that cost and the software. The product's pre-sales, technical support, and installation could also improve.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The on-premises deployment meets restrictions and the end-user is able to control all the configuration in their own IT environment."
"Because of all these reasons and by comparison, we almost always recommended Ilex as the best solution for the sake of prompt and efficient project deployment."
"Before we had this role-based control, we manually requested the security team to create a profile in the right place and to give individual access for each new hire, and now Identity Manager reduces the manual requests for on-boarding someone and helps ensure that when a new hire comes in, they automatically have the same access as everyone else on their team."
"I like that it is easy to diagnose. It has a version of a virtual appliance so we can download it, run it, configure it, and it would take about 10 to 15 minutes to configure the cluster or so."
"Through the implementation of Identity Suite Virtual Appliance have created a supremely quick and convenient way to install (Identity Manager / Governance / Portal) with even high availability."
"The ability to customise the screen, and create a technical solution suited to the business requirements including delegation, password management and role based access."
"I don't see any issues with CA, and everyone in the business is happy with CA and their support."
"It has improved our user management; it is definitely streamlined."
"The solution is user-friendly and easy to use, the initial setup is pretty simple, the stability is good, and the scalability potential is there if a company needs to expand."
"Ease of use for the configuration of provisioning accounts through an account template concept for an OOTB connector."

Cons

"There is no software as a service or PaaS (Platform as a Service) offering from Ilex."
"There is no software as a service or PaaS (Platform as a Service) offering from Ilex. The only option is on-premises integration."
"We are actually looking at something to make it easier from a user front end."
"User interface and usability are mainly the features that need improvement."
"The product has a lot of need for improvement. Our issues are being raised back to the vendor as enhancements."
"Symantec is only on-premises, not on the cloud."
"Version changes are long and tiresome."
"The Identity tool needs to do more kinds of reporting for audit purposes. It doesn't really track any of the metrics that are useful to us, at this point."
"Stability needs some work. There are some issues with the back-end infrastructure."
"Currently, it is difficult to create these connectors in this solution."
