Drag and drop workflows have simplified data mapping and currently improve my cloud database work
The IPaaS Connector, which I have found most valuable, is part of Google Cloud SQL. Google Cloud's user interface is really good, which improves efficiency in my database operations. The UI is excellent, making it easier to understand what we are doing. Currently, I am working on IPaaS Connector, so it is really just a clickable interface without writing any code. I simply use drag and drop and connecting lines, and it is working. Google Cloud SQL's global infrastructure improves our database's latency metrics because we are using Gemini in our project. Since both are products of Google, it makes our product faster.

Real-time analytics has transformed daily decisions and delivers fast dashboards from streaming data
The best features SingleStore offers include fast data recovery and data compression by 80 percent. Having the information in sheets helps me to process the information quickly. Simplicity in T-SQL is another aspect I appreciate. Data recovery and sheet-based processing help my team on a day-to-day basis by enabling us to handle information efficiently. I would like to add that the data compression by 80 percent helps us in an excellent way since we are very fast in obtaining the data for our dashboards and the compression of the information is great. SingleStore has impacted my organization positively by enabling us to run low-latency analytics and model-driven use cases at scale, which is quite difficult for OLAP and OLTP databases alone. It has been very helpful because our internal clients are happy to have the data and make data-driven decisions easily. Making decisions based on data within a two-hour delay to the transactional database is excellent since we went from twenty-four hours to two hours. I think the best contribution is decision-making with data that is close to reality. Reducing that delay from twenty-four hours to two hours has significantly affected my team and business outcomes by increasing productivity. We have been able to serve all our customers, and they are very happy. We can deliver to them on time.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Google Cloud SQL is very easy to use and easy to set up; it brings the benefits of being simple to perform queries, store data that I needed to store, and extract data when I needed to extract it quite quickly, without having to set up a full database and queries around it."
"What I like the most about Google Cloud SQL is that it handles the management, which allows us to concentrate on our applications."
"Its most valuable feature is that it's scalable; I can start off with a base of a lot of data and move as much as I want without a lot of infrastructure changes, so I can run a release model experiment on a thousand people and, if that experiment is a success, run it on a million people without any changes while keeping it much more cost-sensitive for me to do it."
"As a cloud product, we're always on the latest version of the solution, it self-updates, and it's easier to maintain so you don't really have to worry about the operation side of it."
"The most valuable features are that it's easy to use, simple, and user-friendly."
"It supports different databases, like Postgres and MySQL."
"Google Cloud's user interface is really good, which improves efficiency in my database operations."
"The solution is easy to use. I am impressed with the tool's features and functionality."
"The paramount advantage is the exceptional speed."
"MemSQL supports the MySQL protocol, and many functions are similar, so the learning curve is very short."
"SingleStore has impacted my organization positively because the output and performance of the app have been improved."
"The most valuable feature is the ability to create pipelines, streamline and extract data from the pipelines."
"SingleStore has impacted my organization positively by enabling us to run low-latency analytics and model-driven use cases at scale, which is quite difficult for OLAP and OLTP databases alone."
"It's a distributed relational database, so it does not have a single server, it has multiple servers. Its architecture itself is fast because it has multiple nodes to distribute the workload and process large amounts of data."
"MemSQL is a very powerful database."
"The product can automatically reinstall and reconfigure in case of a shutdown."

Cons

"They could improve documentation and dashboard stability for efficient user experience and database management."
"Google Cloud SQL needs to improve its support for high-end I/O operations. On-prem systems with high I/O capabilities perform better, as Google Cloud SQL takes more time to handle the same tasks."
"When discussing media files, such as images and audio files, stored in Google Cloud, concerns about handling large amounts of data arise."
"I would like to see better availability of the product in different regions. It should also improve the security with encryption."
"To create a seamless data integration, the title integration of these databases with the data integration platforms is essential. This is what we would like to have in a future release."
"In my opinion the most vulnerable problem with Google SQL is each SQL node is provided with a public IP address."
"Sometimes the sharing with third parties or configuring that in Google Cloud SQL is not the most intuitive."
"The monitoring part could be better."
"We don't get good discounts in Pakistan."
"There should be more pipelines available because I think that if MemSQL can connect to other services, that would be great."
"It is not the optimal choice for direct data collection through queries, and it's more suited for aggregation tasks."
"Having the ability to migrate servers using a single command would be extremely beneficial."
"For new customers, it's very tough to start. Their documentation isn't organized, and there's no online training available. SingleStore is working on it, but that's a major drawback."
"SingleStore can be improved in the aspect that the Azure pipelines do not have many parameterization features compared to others, for example, AWS."
"There should be more pipelines available because I think that if MemSQL can connect to other services, that would be great."
"I have noticed that SingleStore can be improved because the integration of SingleStore with DataDog is not good."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It is not expensive, especially considering the significant reduction in database management time."
"It's really cheap. It wouldn't be more than, I believe it's around 50 euro per month for running a cloud SQL."
"From a financial perspective, Google Cloud SQL is on the cheaper side."
"The pricing is very much an important factor as to why we use this solution."
"You need to pay extra costs for backup and replication."
"While the platform’s pricing may be higher, it aligns with industry standards, considering the quality of service and features provided."
"The solution is affordable."
"The product's licensing is not expensive. It is comparable."
"SingleStore is a bit expensive."
"Using it for analytical purposes can be cost-effective in the long run, especially in terms of infrastructure."
"They have two main options: cloud installation and bare-metal installation, each with different pricing models."
"I would advise users to try the free 128GB version."
