Offers inventory management, basic ERP functions but outdated interface
The interface looks a bit outdated. Epicor acquired iScala, which was originally developed in Sweden. I'm unsure if their intention is to eventually replace iScala with their primary Epicor ERP or continue developing iScala. Initially, it seemed they might replace it, but it appears iScala will remain a separate product.

Integrated workflows have streamlined hiring, purchasing, and daily operations across departments
Areas of SAP S_4HANA that could be improved or enhanced include the evolving aspects of the application over time. There are other SAP applications such as SuccessFactors and Ariba that integrate with SAP S_4HANA. In recent years, SAP introduced an addition called RISE with SAP, which allows companies to use cloud solutions instead of requiring their own premises hardware. SAP partners with cloud providers such as Azure, Amazon, and Google, assisting companies in migrating from hardware to cloud solutions. A challenge that arises is the lack of immediate expertise when raising tickets for problem resolution with SAP, leading to delays. We have asked SAP to improve this area to provide users with better benefits from the cloud solution, as we encounter this issue frequently.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The accounting, purchasing, and basic ERP functions work well. But they are a little bit older, but they work for us. The inventory management is good and necessary for any company that manages stock for production or services."
"The Fiori design is a valuable feature."
"The infrastructure resources are also effectively used. It is very optimized; used in a very optimized manner."
"There is value that has been realized."
"I find the Production Planning Cockpit (PPC) and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) most valuable modules."
"I like the user experience and usability of SAP Fiori, which is one of the main features that we are using."
"S/4HANA is an end-to-end solution and seamlessly integrates with all the SAP Business Suite products such as IoT, AI, Analytics and all other SaaS solutions, and the product is very robust and comprehensive."
"A robust product with integration between all modules."
"The tool's most valuable features are ease of use, high availability, and connectivity."

Cons

"We're facing challenges with iScala in the public sector, specifically healthcare. The system doesn't have sufficient support for the complexities of managing payments for doctors, nurses, and other healthcare staff."
"The tool's high cost is an area of concern where improvements are required."
"SAP S/4HANA needs to bring a feature that allows a great quantity of data compression"
"The install can be difficult. There's something called secondary sales solutions that is not there in SAP. We need to have third-party tools to integrate to do the automatization. The two parts are missing on the secondary sales solution and automation."
"The tool could improve development, particularly during upgrades or conversions from ERP systems to the solution. Adapting the code to the new standards can be challenging, especially when customers try to keep their old ERP developments."
"Support is a challenge. The effectiveness of the SAP support paradigm depends on particular skills."
"Every business has some unique requirements which can mean customizations are required."
"The customer service and support are average. There is room for improvement in response time."
"We are missing these standard packages here in Turkey. Every customer has to build their own solutions for regulatory needs, such as sending invoices to the authority."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Compared to local ERP solutions, it's on the higher side."
"We're not sure yet. I think it was six figures a year, over 100,000. It has straight-up licensing fees."
"SAP S4HANA is expensive and for smaller businesses, it is very difficult for them to have the budget."
"The tool's licensing is very expensive. They've changed their licensing model from the old ERP system to a new model using FUEs, which is somewhat better but still expensive."
"Depending on the solution there can be a different way of doing the license. Most of the licenses are annual, but there are some models where it is that offer pay-as-you-go. Additionally, there are some solutions that offer monthly per user."
"The solution might be expensive."
"Licensing costs are not transparent"
"The tool's price can be reasonable for large organizations, but it might not be suitable for small organizations with a small number of users."
"The problem with SAP is that it offers two licenses, namely runtime license and enterprise license. If you have a runtime license, then you are doomed since you can't take any data out from the tool."
