Empowers effective test automation with comprehensive platform coverage and scalability
There was no free trial in it. So, I studied it through a page that tells how it works. It will be good if a free trial is provided for users. Moreover, I would like to give some feedback on the installation process. There are other tools that are much easier to install and get started with. Eggplant could improve its installation process.

Flow automation software that is user friendly for non technical teams and offers good value for money
If it is a business critical environment that needs to be up 99.999% of the time, LEAPWORK is the solution to go with because the ROI on it is good. We ended up using SmartBear because of how expensive LEAPWORK is. I would rate this solution an eight out of ten.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Eggplant Test is valuable due to its OCR technology, which is independent of underlying technologies and can identify applications based on labels such as 'username' and 'password'."
"We are able to now automate tests, which so far have been manual."
"The biggest advantage has been the ability to improve the quality significantly."
"The most valuable features would be the image recognition and the OCR."
"The solution is a stable one."
"Everything is happening on the layout or display that is used by the user. Eggplant prompts processes, like 'click here,' or 'look for this image.' Eggplant makes it possible for QA people and BAs, working in the actual display, to check if the software is providing the right images, the right text, and the right results. They don't have to go inside the code or to the TCP/IP layer. Everything is happening at the highest level."
"It is easy to set up."
"The most valuable feature is the ability to create code from a flow chart, and then run the code through it."
"The most valuable of this solution is the no code option. It offers drag and drop when it comes to development and removes the need for a developer."
"It provides automated testing. Instead of us doing manual testing, we can utilize Leapwork, and it tests most of our critical processes. In the next phase, we also plan to do some process work with it, such as using Leapwork to create reports or provide certain extracts of data."
"The UI is user-friendly."

Cons

"It has low productivity."
"The reporting function is a bit shallow. The solution does not offer very comprehensive reporting in terms of your test results. The reporting time and the logs are very high level as well. These areas need improvement."
"Eggplant Digital Automation Intelligence could improve by lowering the price."
"The execution times are a little slower, and the two-system architecture that we currently follow could be better replaced with a one-system architecture."
"There was no free trial in it."
"In terms of additional features, it would be helpful to have one package for all testing. You have the manager, the AI, then you have functional, and about 10 different packages for installing."
"The IDE could be even more full-featured. Because I was a developer, I was very spoiled by either Visual Studio Code or Visual Studio for shortcuts. For example, I was able to say "ctor" and hit Tab and it would create a template of a constructor for me... It would be great, when I want to create a new function, if there were shortcut commands like those that helped create all of the functions, or if there were shortcut features to do any of the complex plans."
"Eggplant Test should emphasize on improving its offering in non-Windows environments."
"This solution could be improved by offering better reporting related to the integration into Azure DevOps."
"The only thing that I don't like about the product is the need to deploy agents on the laptops of people doing the testing. So, you have an agent on a server, then you have an agent on the laptop of the person who is doing the testing, and that seems like a lot of stuff and a kind of anti-cloud. Why do I have to deploy agents on people's machines in order to do something in the cloud? I'm sure they're doing that so they can monitor their licensing and all that stuff, but it is not necessarily a friendly process."
"It is a very comprehensive tool, and there is a significant learning curve to being able to adopt the tool. Because it does so much, there is only so much that you can learn. You can, however, do some simpler things right away. They do have a kind of boot camp where some of their experts engage with you, and during that time, you can work on the top initiatives that you want to do, and that's a good process. After you start using the tool, there is a lot more that you would want to do."
"The initial setup is difficult."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It is scalable, but it is a matter of money in the pocket. You can scale it, but then you have to have additional licenses. The licensing approach of eggPlant is not the best."
"Eggplant Test is a very expensive solution."
"It probably has a yearly license."
"This solution is expensive when compared to the market. However, the reason it is more expensive is because of its stability, high performance, and for its support of any technology."
"End-to-end testing isn't possible for us because of the licensing problems. It's very expensive, so we only have two development/execution licenses."
"Make a smart decision about the number of developer- and execution-only licenses you purchase to maximize your budget. We found that going heavier on execution-only licenses has been a way to reduce our costs and maximize our ability to benefit from the software."
"The product is not cheap."
"We got a deal on it for the first year. We're paying $8,000."
