The main issue with Tricentis Tosca is its cost, which is very high. Although using Tosca can reduce the number of testers needed compared to open-source tools like Selenium, companies might still need to focus on resources. I would recommend Tricentis reduce the cost of its licenses. I rate the overall solution a ten out of ten as I am satisfied with it.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable of this solution is the no code option. It offers drag and drop when it comes to development and removes the need for a developer."
"The UI is user-friendly."
"It provides automated testing. Instead of us doing manual testing, we can utilize Leapwork, and it tests most of our critical processes. In the next phase, we also plan to do some process work with it, such as using Leapwork to create reports or provide certain extracts of data."
"The automation engine is very strong, and it is very competitive in the market in terms of features. They develop a lot of features."
"Makes optimal use of Model-based Test practice in getting Object-references from the application."
"The platform's most valuable feature is model-based testing, which is effective for test case design and optimization."
"The most valuable features of Tricentis Tosca are all the test automation functionality. It is a full-scale automation tool."
"The most valuable features of Tricentis Tosca are the ease of use, you do not need to program if you do not want to."
"It's a simple tool, particularly in terms of system testing. You can also convert and automate using Tricentis Tosca with ease."
"The most valuable features of Tricentis Tosca are the Salesforce scanning. There are two scanning for Salesforce applications. There is Salesforce scanning and normal application scanning. Object identification has been really useful in Tricentis Tosca."
"We can also create customized functions. For example, if something isn't supported in Tricentis Tosca Commander, we can create our own function to integrate it with Tosca Commander, so we can utilize it and integrate with the macros."

Cons

"The initial setup is difficult."
"The only thing that I don't like about the product is the need to deploy agents on the laptops of people doing the testing. So, you have an agent on a server, then you have an agent on the laptop of the person who is doing the testing, and that seems like a lot of stuff and a kind of anti-cloud. Why do I have to deploy agents on people's machines in order to do something in the cloud? I'm sure they're doing that so they can monitor their licensing and all that stuff, but it is not necessarily a friendly process."
"This solution could be improved by offering better reporting related to the integration into Azure DevOps."
"It is a very comprehensive tool, and there is a significant learning curve to being able to adopt the tool. Because it does so much, there is only so much that you can learn. You can, however, do some simpler things right away. They do have a kind of boot camp where some of their experts engage with you, and during that time, you can work on the top initiatives that you want to do, and that's a good process. After you start using the tool, there is a lot more that you would want to do."
"They can make it more stable. I have used this tool for SAP applications. They have an alliance with SAP, and it mostly worked fine, but there were a few glitches. However, we got the required support from the Tricentis team. They are coming up with their new versions and upgrades with respect to how the Tricentis systems as cloud applications are updated, and it would be good if they have a robust accelerator pack."
"Making it more stable would be good because we get around 90% stability."
"The support we received from Tricentis Tosca was good, but it can improve."
"In terms of areas for improvement, Tricentis has a variety of tools, even its test management tool called qTest. Tricentis Tosca does have integration with different Tricentis tools, but the integration is geared towards a larger organization perspective. For very small organizations that have minimal licenses, the integration needs to be improvised. For example, I belong to a smaller organization that has only one license, so the capability that the tool provides for integration isn't sufficient because my company needs to have separate workspaces. When Tricentis Tosca is going to be running, it is going to use that license, but my company wants another separate workspace to record, relay, and test. This is what my team has been struggling with, and the mechanism is probably there, but that needs more time and investigation, so I can't say that I'm one hundred percent certain that Tricentis Tosca, in terms of integration for a smaller organization is insufficient. Another area for improvement is that Tricentis Tosca is currently just a Windows-based tool which affects the market because nowadays, Windows isn't the only operating system, for example, there's also Apple or IOS that's moving much faster than Windows."
"Security, UI, and basic performance improvements could be done to the product to enhance its use."
"I would like to see more implementation of AI on the self-healing aspect. That would be like the next step."
"I have found that some of the functions could be missed in the solution for new users. They are not obviously present."
"The solution needs to improve its simulation of mobile environments. Right now, that aspect is really lacking."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The product is not cheap."
"We got a deal on it for the first year. We're paying $8,000."
"Although the product is slightly more expensive than tools, its automation capabilities and reduced scripting needs justify the cost."
"My understanding is that it's an expensive product, although I don't know the specifics with regards to pricing."
"Tricentis Tosca is an expensive tool and the licensing is not simple."
"It is expensive."
"I would like to see better costing packs. There are several features but USD $11,000 for one license is expensive."
"Tricentis Tosca is not expensive at all."
"Pricing for Tricentis Tosca could be improved because it's very expensive."
"I'm not sure if I'm at liberty to talk about the pricing, but it has some significant costs. For example, you have to pay a license and maintenance fee. Then the rest of the terms are negotiable. We have to consider what we need and what benefit we get from it."
