Utilize artificial intelligence for faster issue response and seamless ITSM integration
The data gathering capabilities and the automation, which utilizes artificial intelligence, are the most valuable features. These capabilities help us gather more information and analyze it faster, leading to better responses to issues. The tool is also excellent at integrating with ITSM services, providing a seamless alerting system for our customers.

Real-time monitoring has improved our banking API performance and supports detailed business transaction analysis
The real-time monitoring is what we can see for anything that is needed in terms of CPU, memory, or the connections or the sessions related. It's real-time monitoring of performance of each of the components, which is what we need and use all the time. It's highly effective, I would say. Infrastructure visibility, transaction monitoring, to check the actual user experience in terms of the response time, MRT and all those things. We do the component monitoring like the API performance and the connections and all those things, but we also do the business process monitoring and business transaction monitoring.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"EG monitors all infrastructure elements (all OS, all database, storage, network, and web server) from a single console."
"Customer service is fantastic!! They are very responsive and always follow up to ensure a solution has been provided."
"Sometimes when we face issues with the new technologies or very old technologies where we cannot enhance the service, they move to work with us directly and start doing some development on this area which is very good for us."
"Enormous capability to monitor Citrix environments."
"The auto-configuration or auto-Thresholding is very important because it saves a phenomenal amount of labor and setup costs and time."
"The data gathering capabilities and the automation, which utilizes artificial intelligence, are the most valuable features."
"Customer service and support are superb."
"What I like about eG Enterprise is that it's easy to use. It's a simple product. You can get up to seventy-five to eighty percent of the required information based on real user experience and diagnostics."
"After installation of APM, we realized the value within five or ten minutes."
"We previously had an operations team continuously monitoring applications. Now, they just have set things up and our developers can monitor, view, and act on them, accordingly."
"The time saved is significant as we have gone from four hours to one hour, which means we are saving a lot of time."
"AppDynamics Database Monitoring's dashboarding is its best feature."
"Overall, it is a very strong product, with most of the features that we need, and other than some usability improvements, I think it is a very great product."
"The most valuable feature of AppDynamics is Proactive Monitoring and Alerting."
"The most valuable feature of AppDynamics is its ability to track the transactions between different applications."
"It's good for a larger scale deployment such as what my company is working on."

Cons

"eG Enterprise's licensing could be cheaper. Even compared to Dynatrace, I think the price is quite expensive considering the APM functionalities, even though they have other benefits such as info monitoring."
"Dashboards are difficult to create, and not so useful."
"Needs to improve the networking monitor capabilities."
"The solution needs to enhance the management dashboards."
"The UI looks a little dated and could do with a refresh."
"would like to see improvements in the alarm display console."
"The UI looks a little dated and could do with a refresh."
"I can understand why they designed the user interface (UI) the way they did, but sometimes in the management of the eG Manager, it can be a bit clunky."
"The main concern is the extensions and their documentation, particularly for the installation of Azure app services. It is lacking some documentation, which is why we are always with the AppDynamics team for support to get the details."
"Yes, the custom dashboard. Making custom dashboards is really tedious. I wish there was just a drag and drop to slap things together quickly."
"Rolling out version upgrades is a difficult job at times."
"The solution's pricing could be improved and made more competitive."
"I definitely want to see some drill down capabilities, especially at the database layer, because the snapshot gives me up to a certain point where I can see the wait states."
"One aspect that requires improvement is the agent. Without an agent, gathering sufficient information on applications is challenging. Additionally, the agent sometimes creates performance issues in production environments."
"We have hundreds of services and multiple shared health rules for alerting for each of them, AppD has no easy way to pull up all the health rules for a particular service to send off the each app owner to validate alerting thresholds."
"Setting up one of machine agents was kind of a challenge."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The cost for eG Enterprise is almost $100,000 for one hundred and fifty services. It's subscription-based and the payment is yearly."
"They are aligned with other enterprise solutions."
"It'd be nice if the price was lower. That would be an improvement."
"We paid about 300,000 Saudi Riyal for the solution and it was quite affordable compared to the competition."
"If using eG for virtual desktops, carefully calculate whether per named user, per concurrent user, or per server"
"They gave us a good price, when they were found out we were looking at other products because their price was very high. We were looking at another solution, then we came back to them was because they brought the price down. We selected them for three years."
"The product is very cheap."
"eG Enterprise is much cheaper than the other products it competes with."
"We do not have any issues with the price."
"We have purchased a few licenses for AppDynamics Database Monitoring and the price is high."
"There is an annual cost for the use of this solution."
"It could be a bit lower, but looking at the scalability, functionality, and other things, you can understand why AppDynamics is so expensive as compared to some of the cheaper products that don't have that full single pane of glass they've got. Dynatrace has got three different elements that you need to log into just to get a full view, which is not so good, and because of that, it is a bit cheaper."
"The pricing of the solution is reasonable for what features you receive."
"It is not a cheap tool, but you also save in manpower to setup because it is easy and fast. At the end of the day, I think the revenue is much better. BUT, they have an awful co-term mode of licensing."
"We buy the platform's yearly subscription."
"The license fee for Application Analytics is in the range of 2.5 million over three years, with extra fees for service contingencies."
