Druva inSync and Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 are competitive in the backup solutions category. Users indicate that Druva inSync has an advantage in pricing and support, while Veeam Data Cloud offers superior features, justifying its higher cost.
Features: Druva inSync offers a cloud-based architecture, strong security compliance, and easy usage with features like geofencing, deduplication, and Office 365 backup. Veeam Data Cloud provides granular recovery for selective restorations of mailboxes, SharePoint, and OneDrive files, and a user-friendly interface that supports compliance.
Room for Improvement: Druva inSync users highlight high costs, slow backup performance, and difficulties in managing multiple Office 365 tenants. Enhancements in encryption, backup time reduction, and on-premise capabilities would be beneficial. Veeam Data Cloud could improve granularity in backups, deduplication, and integration with external storage options. Long-term retention support with deduplication and easier solutions for complex environments are desired.
Ease of Deployment and Customer Service: Druva inSync deploys smoothly in public cloud environments and offers highly rated but variably responsive customer service. Veeam Data Cloud provides deployment flexibility across on-premises and hybrid clouds, with technical support praised for its speed, though both could improve targeted technical assistance and documentation.
Pricing and ROI: Druva inSync's premium pricing can be prohibitive for SMBs, yet it provides ROI via bandwidth savings. As a cloud-only solution, it lacks an on-prem option. Veeam Data Cloud's pricing model is complex and often considered expensive, but it allows competitive per-user licensing. While cost-effective according to users, it can become costly depending on scale and features.
The organization has experienced ROI from Druva inSync through bandwidth saving, storage, and manpower optimization.
For Office 365, Microsoft has already done a good job securing their own data center, so additional backup is basically just getting another copy for on-prem safety.

One area that needs improvement is the pricing of Veeam Backup, as it can be expensive at twenty-eight dollars per user for one year.
Rather than giving a help database, which is an ocean of information to search through ourselves, we should be able to open a ticket and have them guide us on how to do it.
In future updates of Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365, I would like to see mail archiving functionality.
From my perspective, Druva inSync is reasonably priced.
Transitioning to a cloud solution was not cost-effective for us.
The initial onboarding plus the initial expenses are slightly more when compared to another cloud-to-cloud backup.
