Backup has become straightforward for our clients but deployment insights are still limited
Azure is quite a broad topic, so it is really difficult to give a straightforward answer to that question. Easy deployment for easy configurations is straightforward, but you can make it as difficult and complex as you can within Azure. It also depends on the actual environment. In most cases that we are involved in, it is between two and five people.I am overall satisfied with the pricing and licensing policy of AvePoint, as pricing compared to other products is competitive. I would rate this review as a seven.

Backup has protected our office data and now restores individual emails while admins configure settings
Although Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 is a Backup as a Service, it should give slight leverage to the admins to do more of their own configurations. When it comes to Software as a Service, we do need to agree on certain things, as we do not have much control over the software. If Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 can improve, it would be better. It could be slightly better, but it is acceptable. As long as support is provided in a timely manner, it is good. I cannot tell it is fully bad or fully good. If I were to give a rating of one to five, I might give 3.5 to four. Rather than giving a help database, which is an ocean of information to search through ourselves, we should be able to open a ticket and have them guide us on how to do it. As an end-user, different levels of admins exist—a fresh admin and a more experienced admin. They need to encourage us to open a ticket quickly, and from there they should guide us straightforwardly with the steps to follow to achieve the desired outcome.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable features are the email backup and the SharePoint backup."
"I rate the overall solution a 9 out of 10."
"The recovery options in Microsoft 365 are not adequate and it does not help to recover data from the recycle bin that is older than 90 days. The solution has made us more efficient and helps to recover data that is older than 90 days."
"Overall, this is a good product and I can recommend it to others."
"It is a very good and stable solution...With AvePoint's support, our experience has been exceptional"
"For me personally, the best feature in AvePoint Cloud Backup is mostly its ease of use."
"The SaaS feature of AvePoint Cloud Backup is very strong."
"The backup and recovery functionalities of the product are very useful."
"Once you set it up, it works very well. You do not have to go back to reconfigure it– it is very easy to use"
"The scalability is good."
"Technical support in Veeam is good."
"Veeam Backup does backup and restore very well, comparable to Acronis, and we have found both Veeam Backup and Acronis to be very easy to use and integrate naturally for administration."
"The most valuable feature of Veeam Backup for Office 365 is the ease of use. You only need to create a folder in your drive and it's as simple as dragging and dropping files to store them."
"The most valuable feature is the capability to back up not only to the cloud but also to your local environment so a copy of your data can be kept on-prem."
"Overall, it's a very good product."
"I believe the solution is very scalable. We can continuously add mailboxes and sites."

Cons

"The component in the product that can be improved revolves around the area where the tool should focus on providing more of a custom touch to the policies."
"The product's price is an area of concern where improvements are required."
"For improvement, AvePoint can provide details on how the tool's backup scope works."
"AvePoint Cloud Backup's pricing could be lower and more flexible. Particularly, when dealing with smaller customers or more minor businesses, obtaining competitive pricing for bundles rather than on a one-by-one basis remains challenging."
"The configuration could be made easier."
"It is not a traditional restore process and it is somewhat limited in what we can do."
"The restoration could be faster."
"For me, it is very difficult to say how AvePoint Cloud Backup can be improved because I am not working on those implementation projects."
"The installation could always be a little bit easier. You do need to be a bit technical."
"Veeam Backup for Office 365 can improve by adding more features with Microsoft teams. We have many files that we are working on with Microsoft teams and there should be more integration and features."
"We tried to use Veeam for our DRP. It was complicated to use and did not help us with our DRP needs due to our internet connectivity at that time."
"The documentation for the installation is good. However, if you are new to the environment the installation could be difficult. The first time we did it it took approximately four days."
"Its price is a little bit high, but it is a fantastic solution."
"In future updates of Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365, I would like to see mail archiving functionality."
"We have some issues with backing up the on-premises infrastructure, but that is something we will resolve with their technical department and customer support."
"It would be a great improvement to be able to recover cover a VM straight to on-prem."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I am not sure, but I believe that the cost is $7 USD per user."
"I rate the product's price a nine on a scale of one to ten, where one is cheap and ten is expensive."
"The pricing part of the solution is based on a subscription model, which is based on the number of users or storage capacity."
"The platform is more expensive than other vendors."
"It is very good for many of my customers in the banking and finance segments. The price isn't a problem there, but in some other industries, people ask for a cheaper solution. When the price is an issue for the customer, we recommend Veeam, Metallic."
"I would say that the pricing policy of the product is flexible and good."
"It costs a little bit more than other competitors in the market."
"The licensing price is quite high. It's expensive."
"The pricing is middle-of-the-road compared with competing products."
"Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 is expensive, and I rate it an eight out of ten."
"We have 2000 users and pay about $10,000. It may be a little bit more per year. We have an education institute and may have fewer expenses."

"The solution is very, very, very, cheap."
"I'm not sure about the price, but I think it could be lower."
