Has provided centralized monitoring for backup operations and reduced deployment times
The benefits of Dell Data Protection Advisor are that deployment and enablement are very easy. You can see everything in the backup infrastructure centrally. The real-time data gathering and monitoring process is robust. The predictive analytics feature in Dell Data Protection Advisor provides predictions about backup size and capacity for future periods.

An affordable product that offers a reasonably good technical support
I rate the product's initial setup phase an eight on a scale of one to ten, where one is a difficult setup phase, and ten is an easy setup phase. The product's installation phase took me around two weeks. On average, it usually takes about a week or two to deploy when everything is in place. The solution is deployed on a hybrid cloud from Azure.

Pros

"The product's ability to give predictions and advice on how to protect data is incredible."
"The most valuable aspects of the solution are the compression and the deduplication, and it has all the technology we require in a backup solution."
"My impression of the stability of the solution is that it is quite good."
"The deduplication is probably the most valuable feature of that requirement."
"DPA can provide daily report cards for our auditors, which fulfills our reporting requirements."
"As an example, we improved our RTO and RPO."
"My advice to others is if you are using Dell EMC, DPA is a must."
"The platform's most valuable features are data protection and retention."
"I like the autofill-over feature and the simplicity of the solution."
"We use this solution as an integrated backup solution and it is integrated from the backup provider to the Nutanix solution."
"Nutanix can converge legacy-style rack mount servers, so it is highly scalable."
"Nutanix has its own backup system known as HYCU, as well as its own virtual server."
"Nutanix, in my opinion, will eventually take over."
"Nutanix Mine Integrated Backup is useful for those who run an infrastructure where there might arise a need to do some transition or want to opt for digital transformation."
"Stability-wise, I rate the solution a nine out of ten...Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a nine out of ten...I rate the technical support a nine out of ten."
"Our primary use case for the solution is to back up our devices and equipment for employees and some equipment in airport software."

Cons

"Customization of reports or creating new reports can be difficult. Users need to have a deep knowledge of SQL. 70-80% of customers can't seem to understand how to do it. They don't know how to address reporting. If Dell EMC could simplify it, it would benefit the end-user."
"Some minor adjustments could be made regarding the graphical interface and customization options."
"The product could be improved by addressing intermittent collector failures affecting status reports' accuracy."
"From a service perspective, improvements are needed at Dell because when customers call, it takes a long time to get a response for calls or emails. Response time is the main problem that needs addressing."
"Dell Data Protection Advisor is somewhat complicated, but this depends on the software limitations."
"The stability of the solution needs improvement for stand alone users."
"EMC, Dell as of late has dragged behind in their Java protocol, keeping up with Java and security vulnerabilities."
"Dell EMC Data Protection Advisor is not very scalable."
"I would like to see the multi-cloud improve."
"This solution could be improved with regards to the hosts that integrate with the platform itself. Each of the hosts integrated with the storage and networking only provide one instance of a backup."
"Nutanix is not secure enough, and it needs to be more resilient."
"The solution could be cheaper and they should include more education or marketing materials for users to understand how to use the solution."
"It could be cheaper."
"The pricing could be improved. It's an expensive solution."
"The solution's setup process should be simplified."
"The price of the product is an area of concern where improvements are required."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"You have to procure the license when you are ordering or quoting for Dell Data Protection Suite (DPS). DPS is bundled with the suite and comes with a license. However, if you purchase NetWorker separately then you will have to procure the license for DPS separately."
"The product pricing has been satisfactory, particularly with the economy of scale in our agreement."
"If the customer has huge lineup of Dell Products then they receive discount on the pricing."
"You need to make an upfront payment for three, five, or seven years and renew the licenses for support. We can do an annual maintenance contract with Dell. I would rate the product's pricing a six out of ten."
"The product is affordable."
"For pricing, I would rate Dell 2 out of 5. It's affordable."
"It's not very expensive — I think the price is fair."
"On a scale of one to ten, where one is affordable or low, and ten is expensive or high, I rate the price as two."
"Nutanix Mine Integrated Backup is fairly priced."
"While Nutanix Mine is extremely expensive for small businesses, it is a very cost-effective product for enterprise businesses."
"I rate the pricing a five out of ten because the price is average."
