Has provided reliable alerts and helped identify infrastructure issues through detailed reporting
The best features of CrowdStrike Observability include the way they show issues to the client or agent, and their data collection method is interesting because they use an agent-less approach in some cases, collecting data from infrastructure such as firewalls. Additionally, they have the agent, but the presentation in the management console is excellent as we have observability end-to-end with the servers and all the services configured in the use cases. The intelligent alerting feature is excellent and configured on our console, being highly effective as it detects real alerts and just warnings or real issues. Identifying performance bottlenecks is important because they collect numerous MD5 or hash keys including movements or playbooks. The way they organize that in the console is excellent, allowing you to have reports detecting issues, which not only includes detection but also provides solutions to those issues.

There are improvements needed for Elastic Stack. It is mostly based on Lucene, and the heart of Elastic Stack is Lucene, which has some limitations. Anything built on top of Lucene often feels an add-on, and that includes vector databases. Elastic Stack can store vector embeddings as well and perform AI and machine learning tasks out of the box without excessive configuration. The main improvements involve increasing speed and compression capabilities; I have seen databases that claim to achieve significantly better compression. While Elastic Stack can manage vast amounts of data, if the mapping is not specified correctly, the indexing time can be slow, especially with many events per second. Improper mapping usually means that every document received gets indexed for all fields, which is not desired. Elastic consultants typically optimize this, but out of the box, as data volume increases, scaling becomes necessary. They are working on these improvements in new versions.

Pros

"The price is worth it."
"The intelligence database provided by CrowdStrike is very impressive."
"CrowdStrike Observability is a signature-less solution where you don't need to update your endpoints or the CrowdStrike Observability agents regularly, and it is completely based on AI and ML search engines."
"The log aggregation and correlation of data are notable features that enhance our operations."
"The best features of CrowdStrike Observability include the way they show issues to the client or agent, and their data collection method is interesting because they use an agent-less approach in some cases, collecting data from infrastructure such as firewalls."
"In the logs and the trajectory, it shows detailed information about where the source of infection comes from, how it travels, and how to reach there."
"The intelligent alerting feature is excellent and configured on our console, being highly effective as it detects real alerts and just warnings or real issues."
"CrowdStrike Observability offers strong predictive analytics capabilities, and the intelligent alerting system helps minimize noise and optimize IT resources effectively."
"The centralized logging capabilities of Elastic Stack have helped me streamline my logging processes significantly because there are many open-source tools available, such as Filebeat and Logstash, to collect the logs."
"The detection rules in Elastic Stack are the most valuable feature. The search capabilities are excellent and fast. As we collect logs from workstations and devices, the detection rules run on top of the logs and detect any suspicious activity, raising alerts accordingly. Integration with Elastic Stack depends on the specific integration. Elastic provides some bridging integrations that make it easy, but require custom integration. Most integrations are simple, but customization can be challenging because we need to do some parsing. There's something called Elastic Common Schema, and we need to parse the source logs to match this schema, which can be a bit challenging."
"I have experienced a return on investment from the use of the solution."
"The only beneficial aspect of Elastic Stack is that it's open source."
"Elastic Stack is mainly used to monitor servers and APIs. It helps ensure the software's availability and sends notifications at the right time so the system is not down for a long time. The tool's stability and advanced features, such as anomaly detection, are the most valuable features. The benefit of using it is real-time monitoring."
"The tool's most powerful aspect is its search engine capability. It's a highly effective and powerful solution for searching. We use it in professional and student projects at universities, and it delivers promising results."
"The tool is huge, and it performs brilliantly. I tested it for malware, and within two weeks of launching, the product alerted me about a network intrusion. This was a tough test for it, but it performed admirably. The alerting system is excellent, and searching through logs is incredibly efficient. What's impressive is that all three products or options are integrated into one solution. This means I don't need separate logging, monitoring, or antivirus solutions."
"The scripting model in Elastic Stack allows me to query logs and then put the data into Grafana."

Cons

"We had some difficulties at the beginning, but at this moment they are improving, so probably in some months I will give them a ten."
"Technical support received a rating of 4 out of 10."
"We had some difficulties at the beginning, but at this moment they are improving, so probably in some months I will give them a ten."
"The pricing is very high and small companies cannot afford it. They should reduce the price because the backend infrastructure is the same."
"For reporting or log management, having a longer duration for backup without needing to purchase a paid subscription would be beneficial."
"The customer service is not satisfactory for me. The support is only available in English, and my users in LATAM regions such as Peru and Colombia require local language support, which is not currently provided."
"For reporting or log management, having a longer duration for backup without needing to purchase a paid subscription would be beneficial. Currently, there is a default ninety-day backup period."
"Integration with Huawei should be more straightforward."
"Elastic Stack's search capabilities can be challenging, especially when searching for precise data from past years, such as two or ten years ago. Its indexing performance for exact data retrieval may decrease as the data volume grows. Therefore, I believe there is room for improvement in the product's search functionality. It needs to improve its pricing as well."
"It should facilitate easier manual integration."
"The main issue related to Elastic Stack is in the area of its licensing."
"Improvements are needed in the solution in areas like SOAR and TIP, where there are certain shortcomings."
"It lacks a clear NDR (Network Detection and Response) feature. If Elastic could enhance this aspect, it would significantly boost its capabilities."
"While Elastic Stack can manage vast amounts of data, if the mapping is not specified correctly, the indexing time can be slow, especially with many events per second."
"The tool's pricing can be improved."
"When people try to move the data from another source to Elastic Stack for visualization, they face challenges when connecting to Elastic Stack from such different sources."

"I rate the solution's pricing a six out of ten."
"We are using the open-source community version of the product."
"The pricing is reasonable."
"The product is expensive."
"I used the open-source version of Elastic Stack, because of which I did not have to pay anything."
