Has provided reliable alerts and helped identify infrastructure issues through detailed reporting
The best features of CrowdStrike Observability include the way they show issues to the client or agent, and their data collection method is interesting because they use an agent-less approach in some cases, collecting data from infrastructure such as firewalls. Additionally, they have the agent, but the presentation in the management console is excellent as we have observability end-to-end with the servers and all the services configured in the use cases. The intelligent alerting feature is excellent and configured on our console, being highly effective as it detects real alerts and just warnings or real issues. Identifying performance bottlenecks is important because they collect numerous MD5 or hash keys including movements or playbooks. The way they organize that in the console is excellent, allowing you to have reports detecting issues, which not only includes detection but also provides solutions to those issues.

AI-driven insights have reduced downtime and improved cross-team collaboration
We encountered some challenges while using Dynatrace. Although the initial setup was smooth, fine-tuning alert thresholds and custom metrics took some time. Another challenge was that Dynatrace charges based on host units, so we had to carefully plan our agent deployments. The licensing model is expensive. Additionally, the complexity of setup is an issue. While OneAgent and auto-discover services are powerful, the setup is more complex compared to other tools such as Prometheus and Grafana. These integrations are simple and basic, but Dynatrace setup requires more complexity based on the environment. For new users wanting to use Dynatrace, it is difficult. However, the AI-related solutions and metrics took us to the next level for identifying and fixing things. Dynatrace requires an agent for operation. OneAgent is powerful, but it is also resource-heavy. On lightweight nodes or older systems, the agent can slightly impact performance. If Dynatrace could implement a lightweight agent behavior, we could make things faster. Additionally, if Dynatrace could add a long-term retention policy so that we could store more data and find fine-grained details, that would help us. While Dynatrace managed edition supports on-premises deployment, the SaaS version depends on cloud connectivity. For highly regulated or air-gapped environments, setup and updates can be challenging. Although the initial setup is smooth, if someone wants to fine-tune it and fully understand the tool end-to-end, it could be tricky.

Pros

"CrowdStrike Observability offers strong predictive analytics capabilities, and the intelligent alerting system helps minimize noise and optimize IT resources effectively."
"The price is worth it."
"The dashboard and user interface of CrowdStrike Observability are quite good, and the support is responsive."
"I find the most effective feature of CrowdStrike Observability to be its cloud vision and attack surface vision, which enhance network traffic analysis."
"CrowdStrike Observability is a signature-less solution where you don't need to update your endpoints or the CrowdStrike Observability agents regularly, and it is completely based on AI and ML search engines."
"The log aggregation and correlation of data are notable features that enhance our operations."
"In the logs and the trajectory, it shows detailed information about where the source of infection comes from, how it travels, and how to reach there."
"The intelligence database provided by CrowdStrike is very impressive."
"Regarding a single solution that could provide real answers, Dynatrace will help because it will give you a lot of data, based on what I've heard at this Performance 2018 conference."
"It alerts us, or can detect, potential problems which are building up."
"Some of the main benefits are being able to quickly identify when transactions start to slow or run into issues, or hiccups if you will."
"The alerting systems are definitely the most valuable feature. The AI engine, "Davis," has proved to be a game-changer for us, as it helps to alert us when there are anomalies found in our applications or in their performance... letting the Davis engine find those anomalies and push them to the top, especially as they relate to business impact, is very valuable to us."
"The daily metrics which help us analyze the page composition and the corresponding performance metrics so we can quickly and easily determine when something has changed, to aid in root cause analysis."
"If we had one solution that could provide not only data, but real answers, if we deployed Dynatrace, and it got its own baselines, and then it told us, "We saw an anomaly, here's a problem ticket, somebody needs to look at that," that would be tremendous."
"Has helped us find issues such as application suspension and to improve web services data."
"From a core-product perspective, Dynatrace is doing everything that we ever asked for."

Cons

"From the different deployments I have worked with, the shortcomings of CrowdStrike Observability are often because of what clients are able to share with CrowdStrike."
"Technical support received a rating of 4 out of 10."
"Integration with Huawei should be more straightforward."
"The customer service is not satisfactory for me. The support is only available in English, and my users in LATAM regions such as Peru and Colombia require local language support, which is not currently provided."
"We had some difficulties at the beginning, but at this moment they are improving, so probably in some months I will give them a ten."
"The areas of CrowdStrike Observability that have room for improvement include the approach towards customer issues, where resolution takes time."
"The pricing is very high and small companies cannot afford it. They should reduce the price because the backend infrastructure is the same."
"For reporting or log management, having a longer duration for backup without needing to purchase a paid subscription would be beneficial. Currently, there is a default ninety-day backup period."
"The service should be improved such that it is more useful to its clients."
"Better root cause detection and improve root cause categories. In some cases, the root cause points out only a clue of what has happened."
"It was difficult to initially use the solution, how to use it and where to navigate."
"The functionality needs improvement."
"The one thing that I do not like about Dynatrace is their Web UI dashboards are very slow."
"Make sure older frameworks, like PHP 5.3, are supported."
"It is not clear what are our long-term strategy should be to upgrade (Appmon vs Dynatrace)."
"It needs certain UI changes to make going back to certain Windows easier. Certain windows open up in a different category with different set values and throw you off if you are not used to it."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"The price of the solution is expensive."
"I feel the price is good for what the product does."
"Its price is quite high. Although it is worth it, it would be better if its price is reduced. They base their prices around licensing. Their prices are based on agent licensing and consumption licensing. Both of these can be a bit cheaper, but if they are the best in the market, as I consider them to be, I assume that their prices will be higher. They are delivering the product for that price."
"It is quite expensive for startups."
"The licensing model is confusing in solutioning clients for the number of hosts needed to deploy."
"Surprisingly, it is quite expensive. That is something that we could always see: Improved pricing and the overall construct on how do we use each license in regards to usage of the tool."
"Make sure your leadership buy-in is in place. Ensure leadership understands that an APM solution is a fairly expensive, so they know what they are getting into."
"Our annual costs were about the same for both AppDynamics and Dynatrace."
