We can do hourly backups on more systems than ever before, and our RPOs have decreased significantly
As a long-time Commvault customer, we still use the Java console heavily because it is how we learned to do everything. The web-based Command Center is coming along and has most of what we need, but it is a learning process to change our knowledge to the new way of doing things. As Commvault continues to grow SaaS data protection options, there are some that are on my wish list that have not yet made their roadmap. Knowing what is being worked on for future support would be great we can keep that in mind as we are looking at future technologies to adopt.

Pricing and Cost Advice

"In India, this is a very expensive product."
"Its cost is reasonable."
"There is now a subscription based licence option that, depending on your environment, could offer a more efficient method to licence the solution if you are OPEX cost driven rather than CAPEX."
"The cost of an integrator license is moderate and its features cover most customers."
"Licensing fees are billed on a yearly basis."
"The solution is worth the money."
"The solution is expensive. However, there are no additional costs involved. I rate the pricing a five out of ten."
"It was not very popular because of its previous cost, but they have been working on the pricing, and now anyone can afford to use Commvault. They changed the modeling criteria for their pricing. Previously, there was only the capacity modeling based on your content capacity. In this case, they would give you a license and you would have to pay it. Now, most of the environment is virtualized so you can have the best CPU, VMs, etc. You buy whatever you need and pay for what you need."
