Backup operations have become faster and daily recoveries run smoothly for on‑prem workloads
When compared to other tools, the deduplication in Cohesity DataProtect is very fast, and the restore performance is better than other tools. Global deduplication ensures that only unique data blocks are stored, significantly reducing storage consumption. Cohesity DataProtect's dashboard displays options and errors clearly, making it easy to access and understand how to fix issues. Cohesity DataProtect's ability to start processes automatically without manual selections enhances its reliability. Cohesity DataProtect's architecture ensures that agent installations automatically reflect in the dashboard, allowing for seamless integration into backup jobs. This improves operational efficiency, ensuring backups can be triggered without manual refreshes. Additionally, the user interface is intuitive, and the respect of the N-1 rule during updates helps prevent client-affecting issues.

Easy to use and mange with reasonable pricing
The main feature is a specific file type. If we want some PDF files just to back up, the prefix is very easy, and we do everything in Veeam backup. It's straightforward to set up. It's stable. The solution is easy to use. You can centrally manage it. It's potentially free to use.

"The implementation and training are all done through the sales engineer, which provides for a seamless and great experience when it comes to starting with a new vendor."
"Cohesity is a cost-effective storage designed for secondary or archival data. It also integrates well with a number of other systems, like VMware, Pure Storage, or AWS with its large array of APIs available to the user."
"Cohesity DataProtect is a converged solution that simplifies backup and allows use of the backed-up data."
"We are saving valuable datacenter rack space, which is critical as we evaluate co-location options."
"The most valuable aspect for me is that I don't have to deal with media in terms of tapes like our existing system does."
"Stability is not an issue, it has been working pretty nicely."
"Veeam is very useful for the Hyper-V environment."
"The most valuable features are backup and restore, and this solution is also easy to use."
"It's powerful and user-friendly."
"The interface of this solution is quite good."
"The most valuable features of Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows are the backups, ease of use, and report manager."
"There is no trouble or lack of features within this solution, which is the reason we have chosen this solution to work with."
"The solution is meeting all of our client's requirements. It has good performance."

Cons

"Cohesity cluster upgrades have not been as easy as a single button click. They are a manual process that requires upgrading each node into a cluster individually."
"Technical support being outsourced is a downside but not different from every one of Cohesity's competitors."
"The support team sometimes takes a long time to resolve issues, although, in our experience, these have been specific things like SQL blobs."
"Faster backup and restores, reduced costs of backups."
"You need to put the full name instead of a few letters while searching for backup. It should also improve customization."
"For Oracle DBs, we have observed a few bugs. This can be done better."
"Sometimes, getting help from support can be difficult. On a scale from one to ten, I would give their support a rating of three."
"In terms of what could be improved, their UI requires a manual refresh. It doesn't seem like it updates itself sometimes when you're moving from screens or waiting for a change to take effect, so you have to manually refresh."
"Updating sometimes gives us a problem by taking too long or causing other problems."
"With the currency exchange, the solution ends up being quite expensive."
"Interface could possibly be improved."
"I would like to see the ability for incremental backups and reverse backups."
"I would like to have more flexibility in terms of reporting details about the backup."
"I would like there to be more integration with other platforms."
"In the next release, I would like to see it easier to implement."
"I would like to see the capability for remote installation of third party applications added( Like installing WinRar MS Office etc..) , and Firewall for servers."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The solution's pricing is quite high, more so than that of its competitors, Veeam, Veritas and Rubrik."
"Ensure that you understand the per TB licensing model. Also, Exchange backups are not native to Cohesity and require Kroll."
"Licensing is per node and per protected terabyte. You will also pay 10-15% annually for support."
"The solution's pricing is in the mid-range, where it's neither costly nor cheap."
"The tool's pricing is average."
"The pricing model is impressive and very effective."
"Pricing, setup costs, etc. are pretty typical. The initial cost for Cohesity was less than other products the we evaluated. Cohesity's pricing does offer benefits as DR target costs are less than other solutions. You are not charged for DataProtect licensing for target DR data consumption."
"With respect to pricing, make sure that you look at both Rubrik and Cohesity as they are very similar and are quite competitive."
"The solution is inexpensive, more so than other products."
"We have an annual license."
"It is less expensive than one of its variants."
"Pricing is based on license packaging and duration. Longer term licenses are less per year and license packages also offer a discount."
"There are costs in addition to the standard licensing fees, and pricing can be a disadvantage or a weakness for this solution."
"We purchased a three-year license, and I think that the prices are ok."
"We are on an annual license to use Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows. There are not any additional fees to use the solution."
"For the licensing of Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows, the customer can choose to pay monthly or yearly. It's up to the customer."
