Cloud-based management transforms branch network operations efficiently
The most useful feature of Cisco Meraki MR Wireless is its cloud-based management. Configuring Cisco Meraki MR Wireless is easy because it's a cloud-based solution. Once you connect it, it gets registered on the cloud. You can configure it through there itself, and you don't need to be at the site while configuring. Layer 7 traffic shaping helps with bandwidth management, and now you have the five gigabit port on the AP itself, so the bandwidth increases. No other wireless OEM provides a bandwidth of five gigabits. I have worked with the Network Analytics feature in Cisco Meraki MR Wireless, and it's used on the cloud. The Meraki controller, which is a cloud-based controller, allows us to manage multiple Cisco Meraki MR Wireless APs and monitor their performance, user connectivity, signal, and the AP performance itself. Regarding security features such as Air Marshal and WIPS, the Meraki 1700 series has the WIPS feature. We have used the WIPS feature to prevent rogue APs and to enable the security features in the wireless itself. You don't need to buy any other separate security devices, making it a very effective and useful feature.

Segmentation and remote management have optimized secure hybrid networks and support flexible customization
I find that the most valuable aspect of Ubiquiti WLAN is its ease of segmentation and management, allowing me to tag interfaces without needing to spin up an interface. My feedback on the Unifi management system is that it has made managing my devices and ecosystem easy, allowing me to manage remotely and physically while maintaining a new layer of security for device policies.I would say I am fine with the security features from Ubiquiti WLAN; I have not had any issues managing devices or applying different layers of security.Mesh networking is one of the best for me; especially with my isolated Wi-Fi network, it is managed easily using Ubiquiti.I mostly work with on-prem deployment, but I have a transparent outlay into my network on the cloud for remote insight without using cloud storage on my devices. My deployment for cloud is essentially a virtual private cloud for storage, and I am considering an integration to store videos on Ubiquiti devices, moving them from on-prem to the cloud.I am totally satisfied with the functionality of Ubiquiti WLAN for my clients; it does exactly what I need. For pricing, I rate Ubiquiti WLAN as cheap when compared to others.Ubiquiti WLAN is the only one that provides unlimited capabilities for customization, which I greatly appreciate compared to Cisco options.I have not requested technical support from Ubiquiti before because I usually solve issues on my own if they arise.I rate this product a nine out of ten overall.

"Cloud management is something I appreciate; it's an easy product to manage in comparison to many others."
"As a user of the product, the biggest advantage for me is that it works seamlessly; users can switch between access points, and it works great."
"Some of the best features with the wireless solution are that you have a cloud console, so you don't have to create or manage your own instance of a controller."
"The Meraki controller, which is a cloud-based controller, allows us to manage multiple Cisco Meraki MR Wireless APs and monitor their performance, user connectivity, signal, and the AP performance itself."
"The most useful feature of Cisco Meraki MR Wireless is its cloud-based management."
"I have found Ubiquiti WLAN scalable. We have approximately 200 users using the solution in my organization and do not plan to increase usage."
"The scalability of Ubiquiti WLAN is very good, and my customers are small, medium, and enterprise companies."
"Ubiquiti WLAN has good performance."
"It is a very stable solution. Stability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten."
"Its most valuable feature is pricing."
"The only way to re-adopt AP's is to do a hard reset of the device."
"It is a cost-effective solution."
"The solution has a pretty simple approach to WLAN, you can manage it for free with a one-off purchase, and it offers a very good hotspot manager with very good interfacing, very nice documentation, and an initial setup that is quite easy."

Cons

"To do that effectively, I really need accurate floor plans, which I don't yet have. Without having the full picture, I'm operating somewhat blind and have to be careful."
"Overall, Cisco Meraki MR Wireless is a bit pricey; that's the main and probably only disadvantage."
"Regarding service support, Cisco Meraki does not provide direct support. When raising incidents or support tickets, the support is not always effective."
"The challenge with Cisco Meraki MR Wireless is that for any Meraki device, you require internet connectivity to get it registered on the cloud."
"My main concern is that Cisco Meraki MR Wireless is overpriced, has limited functionality, and the hardware is not prepared for any further improvements in terms of features."
"This is not a simple solution like you might find with other vendors."
"It does require some maintenance from my side, including troubleshooting and fixing occasionally."
"Ubiquiti WLAN only supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi radio and would be improved by including support for 5GHz."
"It is not a stable solution."
"I think the main area for improvement with Ubiquiti WLAN is that they need to be far more specific in explaining the advantages of one product versus another. They have many access points - over 30. We often get questions about the right product for specific circumstances, and it's difficult to answer them clearly."
"The support needs improvement. The official support is kind of complex. It's not that straightforward compared to Cisco and Aruba."
"The technical support is not good."
"I think the coverage could be increased."
