We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"We enjoy having an inside view of all the data centers and all the EdgeX nodes within a single portal rather than going into the EdgeX connections one by one.""Our organization uses Cisco Intersight since it helps manage our physical infrastructure.""What I like most about Cisco Intersight is its manageability.""I like Intersight because of the integration with HashiCorp, Kubernetes, and each cloud because Intersight is the IO module.""Provides an overall view using a single portal.""Intersight can validate our environment.""Cisco Intersight has valuable features for workflow automation and inventory administration.""The tool helps to manage Cisco servers."

"vRealize has products created especially for virtualized infrastructure by VMware. Its main features are great.""You log in, you see everything that's happening right then. We can also export that, get information, print it out, show it to people. That's a big deal. People want to see that transparency. It's great that way.""Like most organizations, our training budgets are tight. Without an intuitive product like vROps, we wouldn't be able to get the insight that we do into our environment on a day-to-day basis.""It allows us better visibility into our virtual infrastructure than we could get through vCenter or other tools by providing us a lot of metrics. vROps is good at spotting problems.""We went from using industry standard KPIs to going to a complete on-demand model based on the algorithms from vRealize Operations. It has enabled us to drive more utilization out of our existing compute infrastructure to the point where, for a period of six months, we didn't purchase a single server or any additional compute. We were able to continue to sweat our existing assets.""I like the monitoring aspect. One of the biggest things in our environment is being able to see what the entire vCenter environment looks like. The health status, being able to determine when we're having issues with resources, utilization, memory, or CPU.""Its ability to resolve an issue from within the application rather than going somewhere else to resolve it.""Instead of having a lot of people spend time doing manual tasks, it allows us to have dashboards and instantly show us any issues that we have, rather than trolling through log files."

Cons
"When new features are added, the service becomes full of bugs.""The usability must be better.""The solution needs some enhancement in order to build the cluster in two nodes.""The product could be easy to use.""Cisco Intersight needs some improvement in terms of stability. Hybrid cloud management and proper hyperscaler tie-up are other areas for improvement.""In the future, the solution needs to plan on an extension to cover a broader range of objects since, at present, there are some Cisco devices within the range of Intersight UCS that it can't manage.""The unique problem with Cisco Intersight is that it's not supporting some players.""An area for improvement in Cisco Intersight is automation. It needs more automation capabilities. Apart from enhanced automation, I want Cisco Intersight to integrate with third-party monitoring tools in its next release."

More Cisco Intersight Cons →

"The database services in the tool as backup services are friendly and can be deployed in the release to production. However, in the new features, I would like to include more online documentation that can help service generate early alerts.""VMware vRealize Operations (vROps) should improve instant monitoring. Currently, the monitoring is on an interval of five to ten minutes, if I want to know what is happening now I cannot.""It could be a little bit quicker to drill into.""If I had to think of one thing that could be improved, I would probably lean towards making it easier to pull dashboards from vRealize Operations into other products, like a company-branded dashboard that would display in a NOC.""When we first bought it, our vision was to use role-based access, give application teams access to view a dashboard for their stuff. We found out that the vROps tool can't handle more than about 20 concurrent sessions... We have some 3000 applications.""Adding some intelligence to VMware Aria Operations, such as event correlation, and some level of AI apps will improve the solution, similar to what we see with the more advanced monitoring solutions that we don't currently have.""For the most part, we have found it to be user-friendly. It has gotten better over time since the first version of vROps that I used. The interface has really improved since then.""In the beginning, I picked up an implementation that had been designed wrong from the ground up."

  • "The pricing: It's expensive."

  • "I would like to see a free offering. Cost is always a factor in any sort of line. Obviously, the value added is there and it's worth it."
  • "We have seen ROI in performance. It used to be our company was giving out eight CPUs to all servers. That was bad performance-wise. People were seeing slow compute times for their applications."
  • "Pricing could always be cheaper, but it's acceptable."
  • "vRealize Operations has proved to be a cost effective solution for our big environment."
  • "As we continue to implement it across multiple environments, it reduces costs as well."
