When they introduced the new version of VMware Aria Operations, they also introduced more alerting components. This is very useful because it allows you to create alerts for various types of situations, helping you prevent many bad outcomes once you can detect issues on time. The Troubleshooting Workbench is the place where you can monitor this, as well as objects' metric tabs - there is a lot of freedom in how to utilize the alerts feature. It is very helpful in preventing big amounts of work.
I do not see many differences between vRealize and Aria Operations - VMware managed to change brand names without ruining the effectiveness of the product. Of course, they added some new features and the best one among them is the Management Pack Builder. We were among the beta users of this feature back when it was introduced in the spring of 2022 and hoped that it would become a permanent thing. Luckily, it is now available and everyone with low to no code knowledge can connect to data sources. This is extremely useful and allows for more customers to use the product. It is really a win on both sides - users' and the product's.
