Centralized monitoring has improved visibility and standardizes profiles across multiple sites
One area where Cisco Intersight could be improved is making the interface and troubleshooting workflows more intuitive, especially for users who do not work with the platform every day. Sometimes finding the exact information needed or understanding certain alerts can require navigating to multiple locations. I would also appreciate more actionable recommendations alongside alerts rather than just identifying an issue and leaving the next step entirely to me. Overall, the functionality is strong, but improving usability and making troubleshooting more straightforward would enhance the everyday experience. Apart from usability, Cisco Intersight could benefit from smoother integration with third-party monitoring and IT management tools. Having alerts, performance data, and infrastructure information flow more seamlessly between platforms would reduce the need to switch between different systems. Performance-wise, keeping dashboards responsive when managing larger environments would also be important. I would also like to see more practical documentation, particularly step-by-step troubleshooting guides and real-world examples for automation workflows. These improvements would make the platform more accessible and efficient for everyday operations for new and existing users. Smoother integration with third-party monitoring and IT management tools would allow alerts, performance data, and infrastructure information to flow more seamlessly between platforms. These improvements, including usability enhancements, would make the platform more accessible and efficient for new and existing users.

Good interface, and an easy initial setup with good community support on the free version
The customization should be improved. We should be able to diversify the machine for AWS. When we get involved with that right now, it becomes very bad. Some areas of configuration didn't work for us. The solution should offer more speed and should be able to stabilize the database environment. We've tried to do this, but it hasn't been solid. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. If we want to do an interceptor, what we need is a really high level of TT programming or a specific configuration to be able to scale it out. It works to some extent, but it's not strong. When it does not implement in our center we have to go and manually fix it. The solution should be able to better scale the number of users, especially when you're using the cloud. The solution should extend better into the Microsoft community and companies should be able to run it on Azure Cloud.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Cisco Intersight is a very effective tool for data center infrastructure management."
"Using Intersight with this small team makes our job easy."
"I find the integrations to be the most valuable feature."
"Intersight is the best solution with the data center, and I like it because of the integration with HashiCorp, Kubernetes, and each cloud, as well as the orchestration of the data center system and integration with Pure Storage, Veeam, HashiCorp, and Umbrella."
"I rate it a ten out of ten. I don't have any issues with it."
"The best features Cisco Intersight offers are its policies, which represent a big jump in difference compared to Cisco UCS Manager."
"We enjoy having an inside view of all the data centers and all the EdgeX nodes within a single portal rather than going into the EdgeX connections one by one."
"Cisco Intersight allows us to manage our data center remotely, which is crucial as our data center is located in a different physical environment."
"The most valuable aspect of the solution is the interface on the console."
"Eucalyptus should see good momentum if AWS propagates the theory of Hybrid cloud as the APIs in Eucalyptus are greatly compatible with AWS and serves as a great private cloud option for enterprises."

Cons

"The unique problem with Cisco Intersight is that it's not supporting some players."
"More products should be made compatible with iWORK, including more software and hardware."
"Regarding pricing for Cisco Intersight, all the prices from different vendors have drastically increased during these four years, so I would say it's expensive."
"When new features are added, the service becomes full of bugs and does not work."
"I do not have notes for improvement."
"The firmware management in the S-Series is not as Cisco described when we purchased it. You should be able to manage firmware without bringing the host down, but that is not the case."
"Cisco Intersight needs some improvement in terms of stability. Hybrid cloud management and proper hyperscaler tie-up are other areas for improvement."
"Technical support from Cisco has been mixed. For complex issues, it's challenging to get the right engineer quickly unless you have a specific contract like CX."
"Customer Service: Requires improvement Technical Support: Good but could have been beeter"
"When we get involved with that right now, it becomes very bad."
"The customization should be improved."

"It's just the standard licensing cost. There are no additional fees."
"Cisco Intersight is not cheap, but it's not the most expensive product either."
