I find AWS App Runner perfect for small to medium services where I want to avoid operational overhead. In my experience, the best features AWS App Runner offers include fully managed container deployment, auto-scaling out of the box, which is very helpful for me, built-in HTTPS and load balancing support, easy integration with ECR and GitHub, and minimal setup compared to ECS and EKS. That was an overhead for us. The simplicity of deployment is my favorite and greatest feature of AWS App Runner. It reduced setup time from hours or days with ECS and EKS to minutes. There is no need to manage clusters, set up clusters, networking, or scaling policies manually. It eliminates all those manual steps. I appreciate the auto-scaling feature very much with AWS App Runner. Auto-scaling works well for unpredictable workloads, which is excellent. AWS App Runner has positively impacted my organization by allowing us to deploy services much faster while reducing DevOps overhead. Engineers can focus more on application logic instead of infrastructure. After using AWS App Runner, we reduced our DevOps team from five DevOps engineers to two DevOps engineers. The reduction in DevOps engineers after using AWS App Runner directly saved costs. It reduced our resources, and reducing resources directly impacts the overall operational cost.
