Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"It's not heavy on the system.""The solution is easy to use.""Avast Business Endpoint Protection's best feature is its user-friendliness.""The ease of deployment and the command center that they have are the most valuable. It is basically self-monitoring. It doesn't require that much tinkering after you deploy or install.""Avast as a product is as easy as it gets - everything is outlined and transparent in terms of licensing.""It's straightforward to set up.""The performance is good compared to other products that slow down the laptop, post-installation.""It has increased productivity. IT threats are kept at a minimum because of this product."

"The web filtering is the most valuable feature. The OTG client was the determining factor.""The web content filter is the most valuable feature.""The DNS proxy is also valuable. It has nothing to do with blocking websites, which we can do by sending all our DNS requests through WebTitan. However, the DNS proxy gives us more information about the machine sending the request. If you cross-reference that information with WADA, you can determine which user is making the request and create a user-specific policy or profile.""It's extremely stable. I would say it's flawless. We did have some concerns that, if it did fail, all internet access would stop for our people because the proxy wouldn't be there. That concern has subsided over the years because it's proven that it doesn't really fail.""The most valuable feature is web filtering, where we are able to blacklist and whitelist sites on the fly.""Among the valuable features of WebTitan are the ability to white-label it, which is important for us, the fact that it is fully a cloud platform... and the ability to integrate with Active Directory""One of the most valuable features is the setup, right out-of-the-box. We rarely touch anything to do with WebTitan. That low administration is one of the huge features.""I can go in and unlock something easily if I need to. For an adult, I can reset it if something has slipped by. It's very easy to set it up and block what I need to block."

Cons
"Avast Business Endpoint Protection would be improved with more frequent updates.""It could have a 10,000-feet overview of the whole infrastructure because the software is easily installable on the whole infrastructure and not just the infrastructure, but also the workstation themselves. I would love to have a 360 view of the whole network and basically see from where a test is coming, and if there is an instance in the cloud that is actually misbehaving or if there is a workstation that is infected and stuff like that. It can also have some kind of AI to detect all those things and then cut off the connection from that machine. In Cortex, you can link the logs, reports, and all that stuff. You can also see the full picture of when it happened, and you can trace it back all the way to a file or something else. I would like to see similar functionality in Avast Business Endpoint Protection.""The accuracy of the scanner could be improved.""I would like to see better protection and more spyware included with the free version.""It could download faster during deployment.""It reduces network and bandwidth speed.""It should have proper and timely updates to deal with new viruses as they come onto the market.""The solution needs to be more secure and work to protect us better from people trying to mess with our systems."

"On occasion, we whitelist a site and it still gets blocked. To get it working, we have to remove it and then re-add it a couple of times, until it finally takes hold.""The only thing I can think to change would be to give more options under the various categories for what you want to be blocked. There should be a way to be super specific.""I would like to have a live chat feature with their support. This is one of the things that I like that they haven't offered yet. If they have live support, then at least I can work with an engineer when I have a problem and not have to wait for the engineer to respond.""There were a few little glitches in the beginning when rolling out the client app that resides on laptops.""The interface is a little dated and a little awkward at times. That's a minor problem. It's workable.""The Oauth1 protocol has a lot of issues with authentication and it made it very difficult to initially authenticate with the API.""I've been trying to install an OTG on Windows 7 machines, and I simply can't get it to work.""I wasn't aware of WebTitan's Azure AD integration until now. The takeaway is that those types of enhancements should be broadcast from TitanHQ a little more openly than they are."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "It is $75 per license for a year. There are no additional costs."
  • "I am using the free version."
  • "We are on a monthly subscription for Avast Business Endpoint Protection."
  • "If you become a partner, you will receive the wholesale price."
  • "I am using the free version of Avast."
  • "There are no costs other than licensing."
  • More Avast Business Hub Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "The cost could be lower, though it is not currently prohibitive for larger companies."
  • "The pricing is good. It's a substantial cost, but they've held their prices over the years, which has been good."
  • "We pay an annual subscription for this. They have good pricing. They are not expensive compared to other solutions that we evaluated. I like the fact that it is just one price for the year. I don't have to worry too much about fluctuations."
  • "There are lots of products out there, and most of them are a lot more expensive. Overall, I'm very happy with SpamTitan. It has been a great solution for a very small library."
  • "The licensing, although I can't remember the exact cost, was very affordable. I want to say it was maybe $40 per license."
  • "It's very aggressively priced, which is something that we definitely like."
  • "WebTitan helps reduce costs associated with web filtering. In the event that somebody was compromised due to browsing the Internet, there will be at least one device offline. The time and energy spent cleaning that thing up and getting it back online, as well as having that user set up with some sort of a solution so they can continue working, makes it well worth the money. If a single device has been compromised, my time and the potential of having to buy additional hardware is worth at least a couple thousand dollars. Worst case scenario, if our entire organization or the majority of our organization got compromised, then it could get into the 50,000-plus for recovery. It depends on if it is a massive ransomware attack where it has pretty much crippled our entire business."
  • "For licensing, if I remember right, we told them how many users we have, and they told us the price, which we okayed. There were no add-ons. There might be a slight increase like everybody else, but there weren't any add-ons."

    Overview

Built on the largest, most globally dispersed threat detection network in the world, Avast Business Endpoint Protection Solutions deliver superior, enterprise-grade protection that keeps small and medium businesses safe from today’s threats - and tomorrow’s.

TitanHQ WebTitan is a secure web gateway (SWG) tool that helps businesses control the web content that can be accessed by its employees. The solution provides complete protection from online threats such as viruses, malware, ransomware, phishing, and comprehensive content filtering. To block malicious sites, WebTitan uses a crowd-sourced approach and obtains a constant stream of URLs for analysis. In contrast to many other DNS-based systems, which only work at the domain level, WebTitan works at the path level and is capable of blocking individual web pages rather than entire domains. With the solution, you have granular control over the types of sites that can be visited by employees, and a wide range of malicious sites are also blocked, preventing malware and ransomware infections, data theft, data exfiltration, and fraud.
