Centralized dashboard and real-time picture of the network improve efficiency
We have integrated Auvik Network Management with PRTG and our ServiceNow ticketing tool through API. It automatically creates notifications and sends them to Teams and our ticketing tool. It saves a lot of time. It saved 40% to 50% of our time. Auvik Network Management's network map, together with the dashboard, gives me a real-time picture of my network. It allows me to see the inventory under all sites and devices. My company has 55 sites. Whenever I want to go to a site, I can navigate the network path, and it provides me with the topology directly from source to destination. It shows all events, such as downtime or critical warnings, in an easy-to-use manner. It provides information about device interfaces, device bandwidth, latency, etc. I just need to click to view more detailed information. I have never found a scenario where Auvik Network Management did not allow me to find my site or any device. I can use global search to find my device or site and get the information easily. However, proper configuration within Auvik is critical for accurate reporting, covering all interfaces and their utilization. Using the automated documentation capabilities of Auvik Network Management is very easy. Over the last year, I have been continuously exploring this, finding that the API integration with our other platforms is straightforward, as it just requires configuration on both ends for proper communication. I didn't find any issue so far. It has been awesome. The network map dashboard of Auvik Network Management gives me full visibility into my network, making it easy to troubleshoot issues with inbuilt tools such as traceroute, ping, and SNMP. It helps diagnose problems quickly without having to type commands manually. Real-time performance insights from Auvik Network Management are very critical for my organization as we currently manage 55 sites with over 2,000 devices, and we need to keep track of numerous services such as Active Directory, DNS, and many protocols, so Auvik is essential as it consolidates everything on one dashboard. Auvik Network Management has decreased our mean time to resolution by 40% to 50%. It allows us to see traffic flow in real time without needing to guess. I can just log into the Auvik dashboard and quickly get results. Auvik Network Management helps my organization troubleshoot network issues proactively by providing alerts and monitoring. Instead of waiting for user feedback, we receive alerts on issues such as high latency or device failures directly on the dashboard. The impact of Auvik Network Management on reducing business disruptions related to network issues is significant. It reduces our downtime, improves security, and simplifies complex tasks into straightforward ones, making it the best tool for managing our complex network. We have configured multiple notification channels. We get alerts through email or integrated platforms such as Teams, which helps streamline communication. It makes it easy to collect information from various devices. We just need to configure the collector, IP addresses, and connections, and get approval from both ends. It creates a unique ID, and it can communicate with those devices.

Utilize artificial intelligence for faster issue response and seamless ITSM integration
The data gathering capabilities and the automation, which utilizes artificial intelligence, are the most valuable features. These capabilities help us gather more information and analyze it faster, leading to better responses to issues. The tool is also excellent at integrating with ITSM services, providing a seamless alerting system for our customers.

Pros

"The impact of Auvik Network Management on reducing business disruptions related to network issues is significant."
"It's very intuitive. It does a good job of showing you individual nodes on the network and their relative positions to one another, with pertinent details on each node, all in one location."
"My favorite feature so far is the alerts section. We've got our main company at the top, and then all of our customers are underneath that. We can either filter by a single customer or one of their sites specifically, or look at it from the top down and see the whole picture. It's an easy way for me to be able to have a high-level overview. I can see the status of all of our sites simultaneously without having to really dig in and get super granular, unless I want to."
"The network discovery feature allows us to put in a subnet and have the software automatically detect all devices connected to that subnet."
"The network management piece has been the most advantageous. First, it alerts us about network devices that are under duress or having issues. Second, it has historical data. That allows us to go back, if, for instance, a switch is having problems, and see if it is something that trends at a certain time of the day, or a certain day of the week."
"Our mean time to resolution has been decreased by half an hour."
"One of the features we appreciated the most about Auvik Network Management (ANM) was the auto mapping of the networks and quick and easy installation."
"It's all intuitive and straightforward. The out-of-the-box alerts provided everything I needed, but I've made a couple of additional alerts. You can schedule maintenance windows in Auvik, and the solution won't send any alerts during that time."
"Some of the best features of eG are, in terms of APM, they have complete modules between application performance monitoring, server monitoring, and even storage and network-based monitoring."
"The data gathering capabilities and the automation, which utilizes artificial intelligence, are the most valuable features."
"Single pane of glass to review status of the full environment."
"Its ability to monitor failures and to restart a Windows service when it fails."
"After trying many products with little satisfaction, we can finally say that we have found the best product on the market to monitor Citrix environments."
"What I like about eG Enterprise is that it's easy to use. It's a simple product. You can get up to seventy-five to eighty percent of the required information based on real user experience and diagnostics."
"Some of the best features of eG are, in terms of APM, they have complete modules between application performance monitoring, server monitoring, and even storage and network-based monitoring. The UI is also quite good. They have some standard AI-based capabilities, even though it's not quite as advanced when compared to Dynatrace. eG has some good, basic APM capabilities."
"What I like about eG Enterprise is that it's easy to use, it's a simple product, and you can get up to seventy-five to eighty percent of the required information based on real user experience and diagnostics."

Cons

"The NetFlow app can be a bit compressed and difficult to customize for better readability."
"When mapping complex network architectures or nonstandard things, the map doesn't always accurately reflect reality. Sometimes the interface is pretty sluggish. It's much worse if the customer environment is relatively large and complex. But even if you split a site that's large into a couple of multi-sites, The performance is still a bit slow sometimes."
"It requires a lot of hands-on maintenance when it comes to cleanup. That's probably the biggest problem I've had, because I don't have a dedicated resource to manually clean up stale records. I have a customer where it shows 4,000 devices because of the duplication of devices that I have to clean up."
"They can maybe provide some more best practices or guidance around how large a network should be. They can provide some cutoff points, such as, if you have 30 network devices, you might want to chunk that into a smaller subset or site. They can help you better plan and design how to create your Auvik sites, especially if you have a large environment."
"The map would be the first thing I would like to see improved because sometimes the maps get really odd-looking and the automated placement of things on the map, devices on the map is sometimes not right. In fact, I was just looking at the map and something got moved. I'm sure it didn't get moved, it's just that Auvik realized it was supposed to go somewhere else. So the map could be better if there was a little bit of manual manipulation that you could do."
"The network mapping is just okay when I consider what I would typically see in a network map... that whole overview map in a single pane of glass can be pretty messy and a little bit of a performance hog on computers."
"Auvik only covers the physical network devices. It doesn't include remote apps working in the cloud, but I'm hopeful that they'll have that at some point. It maps virtual machines and physical devices but not low-level cloud systems."
"There have been times when our SNMP community strings were incorrect or weren't updated for whatever reason, and Auvik kept trying to scan them. Changing it was a pain, and there wasn't a way to extract that from Auvik. I understand there are valid security reasons why we wouldn't want to do that sometimes. In those situations, we had to recreate those community strings and reapply them to various devices."
"I would not buy this product again knowing what I know now. It takes too much time and it is still not where it used to be."
"Application TCP latency is an area with room for improvement, but I believe this is already on the roadmap."
"Dashboards are difficult to create, and not so useful."
"The solution should improve on the security side and include some more API integrations into wider application platforms."
"It'd be nice if the price was lower."
"Application TCP latency is an area with room for improvement, but I believe this is already on the roadmap."
"Their dashboards could use some improvement. The ability to customize them a bit more."
"Needs to improve the networking monitor capabilities."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Among the products considered, Auvik stood out for its competitive pricing."
"The pricing gets pretty expensive because it is per device that is managed. It is not per site, so it can get pricey."
"The value is there. It's not that expensive per device and it's licensed per device. Unlike some of the other tools that I use, it's not real expensive. It's a good value for the price."
"The pricing could be tiered so that you get a discount for more devices. We're fairly early on in the billing process, but it could be slightly cheaper."
"I do not have a whole lot of information on the pricing, but our pricing seems to be okay. Internally, we have not had any issues with it, so we have not had the need to discuss pricing."
"While their pricing aligns with competitors, the benefit of having these additional devices monitored for free makes Auvik a compelling option."
"The pricing is good for what it does. It has been a few months, so I do not remember exactly how much it was. I believe for our network here, it was about 2,000 a year, so the pricing was good. A lot of printers and things of that nature are not one of the charged devices."
"Auvik is affordable. The license was under $4,000 annually for our setup. That covers a lot of switches, firewalls, and integration. It was well worth the price. I think it's around $20 per device per quarter."
"It is not expensive."
"We paid about 300,000 Saudi Riyal for the solution and it was quite affordable compared to the competition."
"You may get some monitoring products with certain licensing you may own. Some of these can take ages to configure and setup, along with needing a license to drive the software."
"It'd be nice if the price was lower. That would be an improvement."
"They are aligned with other enterprise solutions."
"The product is very cheap."
"eG Enterprise is much cheaper than the other products it competes with."
"They gave us a good price, when they were found out we were looking at other products because their price was very high. We were looking at another solution, then we came back to them was because they brought the price down. We selected them for three years."
