Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The standard backup and restore feature is most used.""The most valuable feature is the duplication.""One of the things that I do like about it is that it has a very good deduplication feature.""I would recommend it if there is a general case.""Arcserve has a feature called virtual standby (VSB), which has been very helpful because I already have a hot standby copy of my critical infrastructure. If something breaks, I can spin up that virtual standby copy in less than five minutes and ensure that my data is available to everyone and that business continuity is maintained.""We are satisfied with Arcserve UDP. The most important feature that we use and why we choose this product is the RHA feature.""There are many backup options available in this solution. For example, you are able to do backups of servers, email, OST files, and users. This is a complete backup solution which is very good.""The most valuable feature of Arcserve UDP is live replication."

"The technical support is good.""The most valuable feature is the ease of use.""One of the most valuable features is the integration. Another good feature is the instant recovery.""It is a rock-solid backup solution. That's all, and that's what we were asking for.""It's very easy to work with and it's very reliable.""The most valuable feature is the internal recovery.""Veeam Backup has many valuable features and every feature is different. I have created backups for file-level backup, VMware or hypervisor virtual machines, physical machines, and workstations as well. Every time, I learn something new.""Strong performance with a high level of compatibility."

Cons
"Based on my experience, whenever we need support, there are difficulties with communication when trying to resolve the issue.""Arcserve UDP is in the middle range of complexity. The interface can be developed a little bit more to be user-friendly.""I had an issue with Arcserve UDP during the failover and the secondary machine didn't get back online, even though it ran automatically. I faced the issue during a crisis situation. However, I haven't faced such a problem again.""We are looking at scaling up to the cloud and using immutable copies on the cloud. Arcserve UDP 8.0 does have the immutable feature supporting AWS, but I'm looking for multi-cloud support. So, I'm waiting for Arcserve to release that in the next release.""The speed of restores should be improved. We have found the speed of large restores rather slow.""We could not go into granular details of retrieving backup information.""Its interface can be improved. I find it unintuitive.""The solution can use a lot of bandwidth when the scheduling is not done, it should auto-schedule itself. For example, if there are 50 users connected in the network at 12 o'clock and the backup is not scheduled. At this time the network offices are going to have performance issues when it is doing a backup. Having a feature to auto-schedule a time when the network is not being used often would be beneficial."

"Veeam Backup Replication could improve by making the monitoring system free. If I would like to have any monitoring system by Veeam I have to purchase it. It should come free with the solution. They should provide a monitoring system to make the work easier and smooth.""They need full cloud integration such that an on-premises backup can be offloaded to the cloud for storage.""Veeam Backup Replication could improve by having better integration with the cloud. Additionally, they do not have direct integration to S3 or Azure storage for the backups of the VMs. This feature would be beneficial because we have to go through the scalable repository which I do not like.""Occasionally, in the course of upgrading one's virtualization platform, the backup can be ruined.""This is an expensive solution.""Device backup could be improved.""The stability for AIX machines could be better.""The integration with other solutions should be improved."
