Managed cloud services have helped accelerate experiments with flexible configuration options
Sometimes the costs associated with spinning up a service, especially managed services, have implications. For example, if I create a Glue job, that will create S3 buckets and other resources that have cost implications, but once I clean up a Glue job, it does not delete the other accessory resources. Sometimes, I have to go hunting for what resources Amazon AWS might have provisioned and how it is costing behind the scenes. It can be complex depending on your level of expertise. It is not as easy to get started, especially when it comes to secure practices. Amazon AWS is more hands-on than other platforms.

A scalable and stable solution that has good scalability and is easy to setup
It is a scalable solution. I have yet to have a scenario regarding automatic scale and if there's an increase in resource requirement or need. We have yet to have that scenario. We have yet to test that. The scalability was more than manually adjusting and increasing whatever I had to do. I rate it eight out of ten.

Pros

"AWS is easy to manage."
"Amazon AWS is a stable solution, it is far more stable than some others."
"The product offers a lot of functionality."

"AWS has improved our organization by driving efficiency in our product development cycles."
"There are so many references that I can refer to, and their technical support is great."
"The advanced level of production-ready Docker hosting, one-click application deployment, and the truly flexible pricing."
"As a strategic solution, it's really good because it will avoid a lot of cost if you are building your data center, for example, or from scratch."
"The control is valuable. It's really easy to use and you have good control of your solutions."
"The dynamic vertical scaling is a unique feature."
"We almost don't have to maintain our servers."
"Jelastic is exactly what we expect from a PaaS vendor: easy-to-start, easy-to-manage, container based technology, support for vertical and horizontal auto-scaling, and all this without vendor lock-in."
"If you are looking for a great PaaS product, don't hesitate to check Jelastic!"
"The technical support is extremely helpful, and they have a very good support team."

Cons

"I want to use AWS as a full solution for my website - for domain and website hosting, and everything in between - however, I was not able to find everything together."
"They should really consolidate and make things simpler rather than offer you hundreds of random options."
"There is a feature called Kinesis, which has to do with image processing. There are a few artificial intelligence tools that Amazon AWS should improve on."
"They need to improve the engines' availability of services since they have been reducing that availability."
"The cost of the product is an area of concern where improvements are required."

"For now, some customers are requesting support of Docker containers for Windows."
"The backup functionality needs to be improved."
"The security layers also need to be improved because there is no clear layer or tier of security in the solution."
"Lacks better integration into enterprise storage products."
"I would like to see better integration into enterprise storage products."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Pricing is good. It's average."
"It is decently priced. The competition is also bringing its own cloud offerings, such as from Oracle."
"It is quite expensive in my very personal opinion. Going on-prem in a data center is, for sure, not as expensive as going to AWS, but when it comes to a point where you are raising and growing, it simply makes a lot of sense to stay in AWS. It is awesome in that way. I am not aware of any extra costs."
"The price tends to be higher, but that is a usual case when prioritizing reliable backup solutions for servers and other infrastructure."
"It seems to be reasonable. It's the first one that I've used as a cloud platform, so they've set the benchmark for me, and now, I'm comparing everything else to them."
"Some customers will provide their own license and others will purchase it directly from AWS."
"As a startup business, it's very well priced, but if a number of transactions go up, clients have voiced that they are in a situation and feel a type of pressure and desire to move out of AWS."
"Technical support is expensive."
"Pricing for providers is revenue-shared based. Providers should invest in hardware to set up the Jelastic cluster."
"I would rate the cost 3 out of 5. There are additional costs other than licensing fees."
