The solution is useful for application development, but the user interface and user experience must be improved
The product must be made easier to use. The design is a bit tricky. When we log in to the Alibaba Cloud Marketplace and browse products, they look very small. The user experience must be improved. Alibaba Cloud must increase its partner network and brand awareness in our country. It will give our customers more opportunities to scale and save in the long run.

Managed cloud services have helped accelerate experiments with flexible configuration options
Sometimes the costs associated with spinning up a service, especially managed services, have implications. For example, if I create a Glue job, that will create S3 buckets and other resources that have cost implications, but once I clean up a Glue job, it does not delete the other accessory resources. Sometimes, I have to go hunting for what resources Amazon AWS might have provisioned and how it is costing behind the scenes. It can be complex depending on your level of expertise. It is not as easy to get started, especially when it comes to secure practices. Amazon AWS is more hands-on than other platforms.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The cost of hosting the solution is very reasonable; it's quite inexpensive and the solution is very secure."
"What's good about Alibaba Cloud is its database service. It's also good in the virtual machine area."
"Otherwise, the cost of Alibaba Cloud is reasonable, and service-wise, it's also good because it has many available services worth trying."
"We cut our costs significantly by migrating our infrastructure to the cloud, and Alibaba Cloud employs a pay-as-you-go model, so that minimizes many costs for us."
"The installation is easy."
"We use the solution to run VMs."
"The most valuable feature of Alibaba Cloud is the communication it allows between two servers."
"We use the product for storage and as a VPN."
"Technical support has been great."
"With the pay-as-you-go model, we don't have to predict future IT needs, we can just scale up as we want, and that helps with a lot of agility in deploying stuff in our IT infrastructure."
"This solution features ease of use and market adaptability."
"We are mostly using EC2 compute and other resources. Most of our managed services are in AWS, which some of our clients prefer."
"Accelerates innovation through fast experimentation cycles in an agile, flexible, and scalable platform."
"Amazon AWS is stable and we have not faced any issues."
"Cloud Management has been a valuable feature."
"A scalable and secure product"

Cons

"The solution should have more integration."
"It is not robust."
"A big area for improvement in Alibaba Cloud is its support. Another area for improvement in Alibaba Cloud is SDK-based service because sometimes, the SDKs don't work correctly. Support for API-based services also needs improvement in Alibaba Cloud because, at the moment, it's not that stable."
"Customer support has a lot of room for improvement. There's just general documentation, general customer support, and general maturity of the processes are all lacking when compared to Amazon or Google."
"I wouldn't recommend Alibaba. I think other companies should just use Azure instead, as it's a much simpler solution."
"The solution name is not favorable in some markets and could cause us some problems gaining customers."
"Regarding security issues, Alibaba Cloud is more complex and better suited for developers and R&D teams. On the other hand, Google Cloud is more convenient for new users."
"The majority of the tools and processes, in general, have a lot of room for improvement."
"Deploying AWS is complex in the beginning."
"Its interface could be better because there are so many services right now in the product that it is quite difficult to navigate around in this. Its interface could be a subject of improvement."
"The cost of the product is an area of concern where improvements are required."
"I'd like to see AWS implement consolidated billing for businesses operating under one group. We want to consolidate the functionalities but keep the billing separate. That is a challenge we've faced, and I feel it's something they can improve on. For example, maybe you have three businesses that are operating under one group, and you want each entity to have a separate bill for the respective workload that they're using."
"It's expensive. It should be cheaper."
"I generally don't like the user experience of Amazon. It's not the best."
"They're really good on the business computing side, but there are other services where they can do really well. They can improve the data analytics platform and the data warehousing platform."
"There is room for improvement in pricing."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"We cut our costs significantly by migrating our infrastructure to the cloud. Alibaba Cloud employs a pay-as-you-go model, so that minimizes many costs for us."
"The cost is better than similar solutions."
"The solution's pricing is the same as AWS'."
"I noticed on the pricing that it's quite expensive. It is the price you pay for making a practical choice for enterprise-level companies since it has so many features and it fits an enterprise-level company just like our company right now."
"On a scale from one to ten, where one is cheap and ten is expensive, I rate the solution's pricing a three out of ten."
"The price of Alibaba Cloud is good. If I was to use Microsoft Azure I would have to pay 30 percent more."
"I don't know the exact cost. It is cheaper than AWS."
"The product is not that expensive."
"The pricing may vary and is often influenced by marketing strategies."
"They have a pay-as-you-go subscription."
"There are no additional costs beyond the standard licensing fees."
"It is decently priced. The competition is also bringing its own cloud offerings, such as from Oracle."
"Technical support is expensive."
"When I first started using the solution I used a free trial, and then we upgraded to a pay-as-you-go subscription. We have an allocated budget of $50."
"The price of the solution is reasonable."
"Some customers will provide their own license and others will purchase it directly from AWS."
