Has significantly improved document-driven workflows and reduced processing time across finance and HR functions
Automation Anywhere has evolved significantly and upgraded itself to provide agentic AI and AI-based automation solutions for document automation. The product has matured considerably over time. We can create workflows that can call an API. We can include prompts in particular workflows for ChatGPT-related functions, connecting to an LLM and RAG to perform tasks. For document automation, modern features are available to train documents, ensuring high accuracy and repeatability over time. The system is very easy to use. I recently completed a course in document automation, typically designed for people involved in coding and technical aspects. Though I understand coding comprehensively, I don't do actual coding. The course was very accessible. Currently, extensive coding isn't necessary due to the hybrid model incorporating GenAI aspects, low-code, no-code capabilities, APIs, and numerous pre-built objects in Automation Anywhere. The features include GenAI-driven prompting methods and workflow creation capabilities. In these workflows, we can create decision boxes and call APIs without coding. We simply pull objects, drop them, connect them, and add minimal coding when needed. The most crucial aspect isn't coding but rather sizing the automation and fleshing out the details. Automation Co-pilot takes notes and performs automated analysis. It can extract details from videos, summarize conversations, and provide detailed information. During calls, it identifies instructions and performs tasks such as preparing reports and reconciliation. Automation Anywhere can also connect with Microsoft Co-pilot. Through Co-pilot, real-time operations can be executed, allowing direct interaction between vendors and automation through this component.

Business processes are automated efficiently with a well-designed interface
There is room for improvement in integrations and customizations for AgilePoint and other low-code, no-code solutions. Additionally, the marketing of such products should be more honest. They often claim to solve all process automation needs, but they only handle problems of certain complexity. AgilePoint cannot handle highly complex processes like ERPs.

No-code workflows have streamlined daily operations and support seamless cross-application automation
Microsoft Power Automate's no-code workflows help my team in daily operations to a great extent. Automating a particular activity may not be so useful, but when you connect the whole workflow, then it starts helping a lot. I cannot say much about the best features in Microsoft Power Automate because I have not used it personally, but first of all, it is very easy, it is a low-code platform, and Microsoft has a lot of integration with Microsoft technologies, making it very easy to connect with MS Teams and different Microsoft products, including MS Azure. From that point of view, it provides a lot of connectivity options. From a cost point of view, Mendix is much more costly compared to Microsoft Power Platform, allowing us to develop applications very quickly.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"One of our customers here in the Middle East has saved around 10,000 man-hours for a telecom company with the help of 50 to 60 robots initially, and now the same company is using around 4,000 robots now."
"I would rate this solution a ten out of ten."
"We were working on a system called AS 400. Automation Anywhere performed well on that old system. It handled complicated processes. I had to review different menus and screens and give resources, storage, and databases. That's complicated."
"Automation Anywhere has a drag-and-drop feature eliminating the need for extensive coding."
"In my day-to-day applications, I can integrate Automation Copilot easily as I can embed it within Workday, BambooHR, and Salesforce, allowing business users easy access to Automation Anywhere without logging into multiple applications, thus saving 85 to 90% of the time."
"There are many features of Automation Anywhere that were found to be most valuable like WLM, PDF integration, Advanced Excel Commands, Terminal Emulator and its commands, Interactive Forms building features of A2019 which helped us in developing UI for our front office automation and integrate it with multiple rest APIs."
"We get positive feedback from the client regarding the processes that we have developed, as it saves a lot of their manual time and most of their work is done by the bot, without any human intervention."
"We have improved on IQ Bot collectively with the normal Taskbot that we use. How it got started was that we have a lot of scanned documents to input for our solution. So, I used to get a lot of scanned documents, and extracting or reading the data from those has always been a pain area. We always used to bring a manual person in to do it. Once a manual person did that activity, it was brought into Excel where I could run the bot. With the entry of IQ Bot, it now takes care of my scanned documents, which means IQ Bot does the OCR extraction and gives my data to the Automation Anywhere Taskbot. This means no manual intervention and end-to-end bot processing, along with a happy customer at the end of the day. We provide these services to multiple clients, so we have been doing this for all of our clients."
"AgilePoint's most valuable feature is process management."
"Anytime companies need any solution with workflow, they can base it on AgilePoint, because AgilePoint allows companies to design and implement workflows very fast using the system's interface."
"The initial setup of AgilePoint was very easy."
"AgilePoint's automation is excellent in managing different user roles and handling data associated with a particular instance of the workflow."
"The solution's workflows are its most useful feature."
"I like the design and the integration capacity, and it's also easy to use."
"AgilePoint has improved our organization by making form implementation easier and to plan for future growth."
"The most valuable feature of Microsoft Power Automate in the desktop version is web scraping because you can do a lot with it. I work in retail and you can study prices changes, which can give you a lot of information. The solution is no code which is a large advantage."
"I like the scalability option and the simplicity, the way we can really use the interface to easily scale up."
"It works best to build cloud flows."
"WinAutomation is very easy to use; it's a code three platform that works very easily with documents to create custom automations and also allows users to share their automations with colleagues, so users can send and receive automations quite easily."
"Good core applications."
"If you are looking for a low-code, simple to deal with email and extract a spreadsheet, then Microsoft is a good option."
"Power Automate, compared to Softomotive's product, offers the most in terms of versatility."
"This solution improved the reporting in our organization. The financial department was doing a lot of copy pasting from different sources to create financial reports. Through ProcessRobot, we were able to automate all those copy pasting and produce all those financial reports overnight."

Cons

"Version 11 is a bit heavy. At times, it takes a toll on the computing resources."
"Automation Anywhere could be improved by staying more current with Microsoft products through packages."
"When I used this tool in the bot, it did not work. I got this issue when using the document automation learning instance."
"I had an issue lasting for the better part of three years, and it was quite severe."
"The scripting can be a bit difficult."
"The AI centricity is a bit behind compared to the way we see Microsoft and AWS doing it. This is the feedback that I have also given to them. They need to expand themselves to provide more services than just RPA. Only RPA may not be enough for us, and it would not be our preferred choice for an automation tool."
"Cost-wise, it should be reduced."
"There are a few features that we would love to have: running on the cloud, running on Linux, out of the box integration availability with larger ecosystems like Salesforce, Workday, or Microsoft."
"Technical support is very slow to respond and they need to be quicker in getting back to clients when problems arise."
"The solution should be able to support Docker. This would help make scalability easier."
"They should add more information about functionality."
"While the platform is good and it has a lot of options, I would like to see more alternative features in future versions such as connectors to IDM. Currently, they have only ADFS and Okta."
"Integrations and customizations should be improved in AgilePoint and other low-code solutions."
"It could be more flexible, but it's already a good solution for the designer."
"Some issues with AgilePoint's design, AI and UX are some of the major problems we deal with when handling our company's business models or processes."
"We are looking to see more features implemented there are already available in UiPath or Automation Anywhere."
"I've had issues with reordering columns. When I tried to do it, it seemed to take a long time, and then, later, it gave me some kind of error."
"Power Automate cannot handle high end projects and, from a developer's perspective, it's a little difficult for enterprise size companies."
"We haven't gone into depth to explore the integration with AI, so I am not really sure."
"It doesn't have any OCR capabilities."
"The tool must be more stable."
"For simple use cases, it is easy to use but as soon as it becomes complex then it doesn't fulfill the requirements."
"I rate the technical support from Microsoft Power Automate a four out of five."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The Community Edition is a good offering from the company."
"Despite being less expensive than UiPath, Automation Anywhere remains cost-prohibitive for many small and medium-sized businesses."
"We have a three-year contract with Automation Anywhere."
"Automation Anywhere's pricing falls within the mid-range, but the long-term benefits outweigh the initial investment."
"The setup cost depends on multiple factors, so you need to get details before choosing."
"The pricing of AA is similar to UiPath."
"Complaints are generally about the cost of IQ Bot, which is higher than its competitors. The base model’s pricing is comparable to other platforms with attended, unattended, and IDP capabilities as well."
"Our annual licensing costs for the entire company are $100,000."
"Price-wise, AgilePoint is a cheap tool and a standard application for running analytics in an IT environment."
"I think the price is reasonable."
"It is more cost-effective than local tools."
"I believe the pricing has changed recently. We had purchased one license per server, and it was about $2,000. It was a one-time payment. It's possible that they have recently implemented a new cost structure and now have yearly subscriptions."
"Microsoft Power Automate is expensive. The full license is quite expensive."
"It costs us nothing because we use it on the built-in cost that is a part of our existing license for 365. To use it more extensively, there are different pricing models. Its licensing is complex. It is complex to evaluate the cost in advance. As a result, people don't use it because they don't know what overall cost they are going to incur. There are too many criteria to figure out how much it is going to cost you to use the product to its full extent. Its licensing model should be improved, and the pricing should be more visible and transparent."
"We are just using the free products at the moment. We are using the ones that come with the license that we have got."
"The licensing cost for us at this time is between $8 and $20 per user, per month."
"Initially, we had a Microsoft account for Office 365. Later, we discovered that our license included access to Power Automate at no additional cost. There was a small fee for additional features, but it was negligible compared to the benefits. There are not any additional fees required to use the solution."
"The licensing price should be more cost-effective."
"The solution is free with Microsoft 365."
"I give the cost a three out of ten."
