SAP NetWeaver is going to be soon out of the picture. Now we have SAP S/4HANA, which is the recent technology from SAP. Many companies are migrating from SAP NetWeaver to SAP S/4HANA. Going forward, SAP still supports SAP NetWeaver, and it can fully add more functionalities that it is currently adding in the latest versions also. Whichever functions they are adding newly in SAP S/4HANA, they can add it into SAP NetWeaver as so that SAP NetWeaver also does not become obsolete and becomes useful to the customers who are currently using it. SAP has come up with an in-memory database called HANA, and on top of it, SAP has introduced SAP S/4HANA so that it runs seamlessly on the HANA database. SAP NetWeaver can also run on the HANA database, but if the compatibility with HANA database could be improved for SAP NetWeaver, then it will be more useful.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"From a testing standpoint, ignoring license and cost issues, it's not a bad product."
"This tool has great scaling capabilities, i.e., no limitations."
"It is the central point for all our data storage. We have one single version of the truth that we can communicate to all our customers."
"SAP NetWeaver is doing its job, and it performs well. In the last year, I have not had any problems with it."
"The human capital management module is valuable."
"With SAP, you can trust what it tells you."
"We can use different transaction codes to check the performance of the system, and if we are unable to access a particular transaction, we can still check the table to see what is happening."
"The stability is not an issue, and I would rate it at seven out of ten."
"The integration feature is valuable."
"It saves a lot of time, a lot of paperwork, and it is value for money."

Cons

"My concern is with Automation integration."
"We have had issues with the performance, and performance is key: We are limited by the number of instances running because it is at the end of service life. The product is not as scalable as we would like it to be."
"SAP NetWeaver should be better integrated with other products outside of SAP."
"It should have the ability to connect with other databases."
"SAP is likely transitioning to S4, so it is unlikely that they will continue to use NetWeaver."
"The solution needs to better integrate Salesforce. It is a key player in the market and a lot of companies are looking for a lot more integration around it."
"SAP NetWeaver it's still complex for a normal user unless you memorize those action codes."
"Has become somewhat unstable recently."
"The product documentation can be improved."
