Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The main reasons that our customers like Acronis are that it is very strong and easy to use.""The ability to clone backups.""The best thing about it is that we can back up pretty much everything we want to. We don't have to have multiple solutions. It can back up any physical or virtual server, including servers in Azure. It can back up SharePoint, OneDrive, and G Suite. Everything we need to back up can be backed up, and that's why we like it.""It is a very fast and reliable backup, which requires less management and restores quickly.""The tool’s licensing and pricing are economical for SMB customers.""The most valuable features of Acronis Backup are cloning and many other capabilities. For example, you are able to clone the whole operating system and drive. Additionally, the solution is a complete package.""The solution is stable and reliable.""The most valuable feature is the quick restoration. We can restore the data quickly."

"NetApp Cloud Backup performance is good and they have beneficial technology.""Scalability is very good.""One feature that works well for us is that the Cloud Manager is a completely agentless solution. There's a similar dashboard on both the versions for on-premises and the cloud, and with reference to the Cloud Manager, it's a little faster because there's nothing to be installed as such. Being agentless, it doesn't require any agent to be deployed on the targets where the backups are triggered."

Cons
"The initial setup was complex. We had to deploy it through an external consultant team.""We have sometimes issues with the child copies and other similar functions, but it's normal with any backup solution. We need to fix those issues first in order for us to be able to do the backup properly.""The solution needs to have better stability. I would like to improve the tool’s support through calls.""In the span of six months, maintenance is done at least twice and you are told that it is coming up, with apologies for the inconvenience. It's a distraction, and it interferes with the backup schedule.""I needed tech support to straighten out an issue with cloud backup. I have troubleshooting to do with failed backups.""They can include something called a backup appliance. Although Acronis is a software-driven company, it would be good for customers to have some kind of backup appliance on top of a lightweight operating system. This will also reduce the cost. Currently, the customers have to buy the hardware in addition to the operating system, which increases the overhead in terms of procurement.""The new version has anti-malware and software management features, but these features should be enhanced. It is working as an exclusive solution along with the backup and recovery.""We needed to have help from the vendor for implementation. The vendor used two personnel. We have system administrators and they do the server backups themself."

"NetApp Cloud Backup could improve by being easier to use. Veeam solution is easier to use.""One area that can be improved is around how we define the different KPIs. In particular, the business KPIs. I have my own in-house application for the business KPIs, so for example, with our policies around retention, which is a period of seven years, I have to read these parameters from other applications and I need them to integrate well.""Integration and reporting could be improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Doing what this is capable of doing, the cost of it is in line."
  • "Pricing is what it is. I don't shop around once I find a good solution. I insist they maintain ongoing support year after year for updates and tech support."
  • "I would say that at the pricepoint that it's at, it's definitely worth the money."
  • "It has already paid off itself in the first few months that we implemented it."
  • "When it comes to elements like cost, I think it is the only backup solution which has perpetual licenses, whereby you buy the license once and for all."
  • "I like the pricing, and that it is easy to use and has performed well. "
  • "Our licensing fees are on a yearly basis."
  • "The pricing is comparable to the newest solution available on the market, Altaro."
  • More Acronis Cyber Protect Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "Our usage depends on the number of licenses we have. On the cloud, it's a pay-to-use kind of model which suits our needs well. Once we have the Cloud Manager installed, the licensing process is okay, regardless of whether we're running backups in the cloud or on-premises. Sometimes, we have to restrict the number of users as per the contractual agreement and in this case we simply cut down on the licensing."
  • "Cost could be lower."
  • "NetApp Cloud Backup has a subscription-based model and it is paid annually."
