We use Symantec Asset Management Suite for patch management. We deployed the agent on the end users' systems and we are using it for software distribution.
Plenty of features, stable, and scalable

Symantec Asset Management Suite has better features than some of its competitors, such as the Microsoft Configuration Manager.
What needs improvement?
The solution has not been updated in a while and parts appear to be outdated, such as the pictures. It is a reactive product in terms of development and features. They do not follow the market trends or have many innovations.
I have found Symantec Asset Management Suite does not integrate well with Microsoft solutions, which in the corporate world is a large disadvantage. They are currently lagging behind Microsoft.
The cloud version of this solution is not very convenient or comparable to other solutions, they need to improve it.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have used Symantec Asset Management Suite for approximately 20 years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The solution is stable and reliable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The solution is easy to scale up to approximately 10,000. However, anything over that many packages can be difficult to view.
This solution is ideal for medium-sized organizations that have 2 to 15,000 user devices.
How are customer service and technical support?
The support from Symantec or Broadcom is not very good.
How was the initial setup?
The installation is straightforward and falls in the standard level of difficulty.
What about the implementation team?
We do the implementation of the solution including maintenance.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The price of the solution was reasonable a couple of years ago but now it is expensive.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
We have evaluated Microsoft Intune.
What other advice do I have?
Symantec was purchased by Broadcom and the product is continuing as-is. We will replace it with Microsoft Intune for some customers.
I would recommend this solution to those that want to have something stable, are not a large corporation, and want to keep their own on-premise infrastructure. For those who want to try the latest technology, I would recommend Microsoft.
I rate Symantec Asset Management Suite an eight out of ten.
