A company can benefit from using Nutanix Unified Storage (NUS) by narrowing down the number of vendors they work with. Instead of using a NetApp filer or a Windows file share, NUS is a good choice because it's leveraging the Nutanix file system, which has been around for a long time and is really solid and secure.

We have been using Nutanix Unified Storage (NUS) for a few months now. We have been using the Nutanix Files shares as the GPFS file systems which we are using with the Nutanix Storage. The Nutanix Files shares in Kubernetes are also being used in our premises.

The features of Nutanix Unified Storage (NUS) that I appreciate most are the protection it provides from cyber threats, the resiliency it provides, and the data copy features, which are really useful.

From the cost perspective of Nutanix Unified Storage (NUS), when compared to SBCs, it presents a significant cost benefit, and it comes inbuilt. Another benefit is the reliability.

The performance of Nutanix Unified Storage (NUS) helps to reduce IO. When discussing read-write rates, it performs effectively.

My impression of the cybersecurity features of Nutanix Unified Storage (NUS) when dealing with unstructured data, such as ransomware threats, is that since it is more encrypted, it is more reliable from both the support perspective and the chat perspective.

The reliability and stability of Nutanix Unified Storage (NUS) is good, and the disaster recovery component is something impressive for this product.

Our main use cases for this platform are that it holds all of our production virtual machines and all of our SMB shares.

What I appreciate about this platform the most is that it takes up very little rack space and it is pretty easy to use.

Our use cases for Nutanix Unified Storage include file shares, which are easy to set up without having to have a server do that same thing. We don't have to keep on continuing to upgrade operating systems. It's easy for replication and disaster recovery, as we have two files clusters that replicate data back and forth, and it's good for DR purposes.

The cybersecurity features of Nutanix Unified Storage when dealing with unstructured data and ransomware threats are very good. We have that feature turned on, and it has helped protect us from ransomware attacks. It provides good detection capabilities.

We're in Azure. We use files as a target for hybrid and on-prem things, and also for storage in our Azure environment. It works well in regard to securing workloads and all that stuff. It works effectively in securing workloads.

It has helped reduce our total cost of ownership in regards to spinning up another virtual machine just to handle a share. We also use it with Varonis, which enhances security management. The API hooks into different products, such as Varonis, giving us insights into what's going on, which is why we don't use Data Lens as much. Nutanix Unified Storage has saved us approximately 5,000 to 10,000 dollars over five years. Previously, we had a SAN that was very expensive to maintain due to power consumption.

We're not doing a lot of AI tasks yet, but we're looking into that. From a latency perspective, we haven't experienced any issues. The cluster is pretty resilient, and we appreciate the ability to upgrade to new versions of files without any downtime.

Our use cases for Nutanix Unified Storage (NUS) today involve working at an engineering firm with CAD drawing, among other things. The main uses for SMB storage include massive amounts of data, close to two petabytes worth of data, which consists of tons of graphics or layering. Architectural or engineering environments require layer upon layer of files to work cohesively as one for the actual final product or engineering design. Therefore, we need flexible, fast storage in order to allow the engineers to perform their duties.

The qualities of Nutanix Unified Storage (NUS) improved our company by giving us the flexibility to expand as we grow. With our old traditional storage environment, SMB, it's very chaotic to try to expand, whereas with NUS, you can just add another node. You expand a cluster on the fly, and it's done; you don't have to reconfigure anything, run tons of cable, or worry about fiber channel or any other backend storage rates or protocol nodes. It's just a quick, easy expand on the fly—no interruptions to the business. The same goes for any type of data protection and replication factory for a DR scenario; it's automatically happening. You expand at the primary and at the failover site, and then you're done. Ease of deployment and expansion is key.

Right now, my main use cases for Nutanix Unified Storage (NUS) are running most of our server and database. When you are selling; you are selling all in a box, and the minimum storage is more than the maximum that we need. It means that I have enough storage to do whatever I need there. I manage everything in Nutanix Unified Storage (NUS). 

The main purpose that I used it for in the beginning was for Citrix, and for Citrix, everything was on Nutanix Unified Storage (NUS); all the database, all the file server, and everything was on the servers.

In the beginning, when they sold us Nutanix Unified Storage (NUS), they told us the performance would be 30%. Then we came to them and said, 'You are a liar. It's not 30%, it's 800% increase.' The processes that we used to do over five or six minutes now only takes 20 seconds. It is much faster, much smoother, and I don't need to deal with all the network and everything; everything is in one place. Everything is within one box. It works without any interruption.

Our primary use case for Nutanix Unified Storage (NUS) is that we have all the critical workloads, such as SQL DBA and application servers. More than 1000 critical applications are running on Nutanix in our environment.

The most valuable features of Nutanix Unified Storage (NUS) are its unique storage features. It provides robust performance, and we are using all NVMe drives. Our SQL database previously was on SSDs, which had less performance on VMware; after migrating to AHV in Nutanix storage, we are seeing a significant difference in I/O performance, and the database performance is excellent compared to the previous setup.

The performance of Nutanix Unified Storage (NUS) increased almost 50%. Earlier, we experienced many issues with latency and SQL performance, but now we are not receiving any incidents. 

We have additional benefits from using Nutanix Unified Storage (NUS), as we are using it for Nutanix files and Nutanix objects, which are performing exceptionally within the system. We are mostly using all Nutanix files within their cluster, and our performance is very good compared to our old NAS storage.

I assess the scalability of Nutanix Unified Storage (NUS) to be one of its notable features, as we don't see any issues; it's seamless to attach additional nodes whenever we need to scale or if we only want to increase storage. We have the option of adding only storage nodes, which is a very good feature.

We use Nutanix Unified Storage (NUS) for storing the profile and related data for all of our end-user computing VDI sessions like their FSLogix profile and O365 data.

Prior to having NUS and Nutanix Files, we were hosting profiles on some older Dell Isilons. Due to their age, they were using hybrid storage, so we had some old-style spinning disks in addition to all-flash, which create a performance bottleneck. Nutanix's platform and the NX hardware that was purchased with it allowed us to move profiles to an all-flash solution. We're also able to utilize a 25 gigabit per second transfer speed, as opposed to the 10 gigabit per second maximum for the Dell Isilons.
