We use PowerEdge XE for a transactional system. In the future, we'll use it for warehousing data and analytical queries using AI/ML. We typically use Dell PowerEdge-based custom nodes and set up our clusters on them. They don't have a large user base. We primarily use them for data-intensive operations on three-node clusters in various deployments.
Deploying PowerEdge servers is straightforward. The servers come fully assembled, and we only needed to set up our cluster. We have five or six in-house clusters. Deployment takes no more than a couple of days with two people. We have an engineer who handles the rack mounting and some configuration. I was responsible for the software aspects. There isn't much maintenance after deployment unless we have a hardware failure.
