What is our primary use case?
I have worked with Juniper Mist Wired Assurance for three years, with general experience in Mist for wireless assurance, wired assurance, wireless insurance, and routing insurance. It is a different kind of cloud service.
I am also a consultant for Juniper Mist Wired Assurance.
Juniper Mist Wired Assurance is developed only for enterprise use. Juniper has different solutions for data center, such as Apstra, and different solutions for ISP, but Mist is only for enterprise. It may be used with SD-WAN solutions, but that is another routed insurance. There is one insurance for SD-WAN and wired assurance only for enterprise.
What is most valuable?
Juniper Mist Wired Assurance is a great solution for the enterprise area because it allows for easy and very fast deployment and easy maintenance. Juniper Mist Wired Assurance provides services such as AI assistance, which helps find different issues, and a virtual assistant that recommends what you should do to resolve these issues. It is a very scalable solution because we can deploy thousand switches in several minutes.
The capabilities of Juniper Mist Wired Assurance that I find most useful include zero-touch provisioning. We can deploy any switch from the box by only connecting the switch to the internet. Each switch has a QR code on the box that we can scan to add the switch to our organization, and the switch gets all needed configuration that we have prepared before. We can use different templates for each site or the same configuration for all switches in the organization, regardless of how many sites we have.
The real-time anomaly detection of Juniper Mist Wired Assurance is effective because this solution uses AI and a virtual assistant, allowing us to decrease the quantity of problem cases. The virtual assistant quickly finds different problems on the whole network and sends messages to the administrator or system administrator with recommendations on how to resolve the problem. End users cannot open a ticket because the administrator resolves the problem.
The predictive analytics tools in Juniper Mist Wired Assurance include premium analytics as a different license. When we use this analytics, we get a lot of useful information over a long period of time. We can get information about the whole network, as well as about end users and devices, such as computers, and everything that connects to the network. This solution allows us to check the quality of network transmission. It constantly uses Marvis Minis, which is a cloud service that checks every hour if the network works properly.
The automated network health metrics in Juniper Mist Wired Assurance utilize templates that are used by automatic tools in the Mist cloud. This very simplified deployment and maintenance approach works for all networks. When we need to change one function on all switches, we can use this template to do it very quickly and automatically. We can also use settings to update all switches to the recommended JTAC version of JUNOS, and this task will be done automatically.
The impact of AI-driven insights on operational efficiency in Juniper Mist Wired Assurance helps improve network reliability and allows us to find and resolve any issues quickly.
What needs improvement?
Regarding Juniper Mist Wired Assurance, everything works perfectly. I do not know what we can improve in this solution. The interface is good, and the functionality is good.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have worked with Juniper Mist Wired Assurance and general Mist for three years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The reliability and stability of Juniper Mist Wired Assurance are very stable and reliable because Mist cloud uses different cloud providers, such as Google and Amazon, for redundancy. These clouds are on different continents. For Europe, we use Google cloud and Amazon cloud on the Europe data center. For North America, we use other data centers in North America with Google and Amazon. If one part of the cloud experiences an outage, all traffic is rerouted to another cloud. In my experience, I have not had any issues with Mist cloud.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
I rate the scalability of Juniper Mist Wired Assurance as 10 out of 10.
How are customer service and support?
I often communicate with the technical support of Juniper Mist Wired Assurance and sometimes open cases. These cases are resolved quickly, and I recommend using Mist support for resolving different cases.
A specific case that I raised with Juniper Mist Wired Assurance involved a Juniper switch installed in the global cloud that needed to be transferred to the EMEA cloud. We had to ask support to delete this switch from the global cloud before we could install and deploy this switch to the EMEA cloud. If we need to transfer a switch from one organization to another organization that uses the same cloud, it is not a problem. However, if we need to transfer a switch from the global cloud to the EMEA cloud, we need to create a support ticket.
How was the initial setup?
The usual initial setup process for Juniper Mist Wired Assurance requires that we first have a subscription for this service. Juniper Mist Wired Assurance is a separate cloud service. Once we have the subscription, we only need to add our devices to the profile, which can be done within several minutes. It is very quick and easy.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The pricing of Juniper Mist Wired Assurance is high. However, I think it is worth the money because it simplifies maintenance for big networks. If you have a lot of sites, you need only one or two administrators on a central site, and it allows monitoring of thousand switches. This solution is not cheap.
What other advice do I have?
Juniper Mist Wired Assurance is developed only for enterprise use. Juniper has different solutions for data center, such as Apstra, and different solutions for ISP, but Mist is only for enterprise. It may be used with SD-WAN solutions, but that is another routed insurance. There is one insurance for SD-WAN and wired assurance only for enterprise.

I would rate this product a 9 out of 10 overall.
