AI-driven insights have transformed enterprise network management and reduced issue resolution time
Juniper Mist Wired Assurance is a great solution for the enterprise area because it allows for easy and very fast deployment and easy maintenance. Juniper Mist Wired Assurance provides services such as AI assistance, which helps find different issues, and a virtual assistant that recommends what you should do to resolve these issues. It is a very scalable solution because we can deploy thousand switches in several minutes. The capabilities of Juniper Mist Wired Assurance that I find most useful include zero-touch provisioning. We can deploy any switch from the box by only connecting the switch to the internet. Each switch has a QR code on the box that we can scan to add the switch to our organization, and the switch gets all needed configuration that we have prepared before. We can use different templates for each site or the same configuration for all switches in the organization, regardless of how many sites we have. The real-time anomaly detection of Juniper Mist Wired Assurance is effective because this solution uses AI and a virtual assistant, allowing us to decrease the quantity of problem cases. The virtual assistant quickly finds different problems on the whole network and sends messages to the administrator or system administrator with recommendations on how to resolve the problem. End users cannot open a ticket because the administrator resolves the problem. The predictive analytics tools in Juniper Mist Wired Assurance include premium analytics as a different license. When we use this analytics, we get a lot of useful information over a long period of time. We can get information about the whole network, as well as about end users and devices, such as computers, and everything that connects to the network. This solution allows us to check the quality of network transmission. It constantly uses Marvis Minis, which is a cloud service that checks every hour if the network works properly. The automated network health metrics in Juniper Mist Wired Assurance utilize templates that are used by automatic tools in the Mist cloud. This very simplified deployment and maintenance approach works for all networks. When we need to change one function on all switches, we can use this template to do it very quickly and automatically. We can also use settings to update all switches to the recommended JTAC version of JUNOS, and this task will be done automatically. The impact of AI-driven insights on operational efficiency in Juniper Mist Wired Assurance helps improve network reliability and allows us to find and resolve any issues quickly.

Load balancing and secure access have supported complex migrations and automation at scale
NetScaler has positively impacted my organization because I work for a system integrator and deploy it for customers. Many customers are really happy with NetScaler, except for the pricing, as Citrix has changed a lot of their pricing in the last two or three years when they transitioned to Cloud Software Group. However, despite that, I know customers are really satisfied with the technical capabilities that NetScaler provides. While I do not have specific outcomes or metrics from my customers, I think using Core Logic has made it much easier for the big municipality I mentioned to implement NetScaler as a total solution, thus speeding up their automation. There are likely many benefits, but I lack benchmarks or timing figures to quantify that.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The customer chose this solution because it helped reduce the number of trouble tickets. It’s easy to deploy and troubleshoot, as the solution uses AI to identify root issues."
"The most valuable feature of Juniper Mist Wired Assurance is zero-touch provisioning for query edge switches. You can connect the switch directly to your edge locations and then directly onboard, similar to the Cisco Meraki solutions."
"Juniper Mist Wired Assurance is a great solution for the enterprise area because it allows for easy and very fast deployment and easy maintenance."
"The product greatly improved our organization in terms of making configuration, deployment, and firmware upgrades easy for multiple automated devices."
"Citrix is a complete solution for those looking for an all-in-one; it's all there, the NetScaler gateway, remote access, internet access, optimization, load balancing, Citrix desktop publishing, and VDAs, so you can create a complete solution with Citrix."
"I can turn on features without actually owning a license. I can test them out, I can use them for a while, and then I can be licensed up. That's awesome. I don't have to have a license immediately before I can start to deploy things rapidly, rapid deployment is a plus."
"Allows the user to easily scale out application delivery. Provides secure remote access. Ease of management and business continuity support. Powerful, reliable, and feature rich solution all in one appliance."
"High availability, performance, and security are the main pillars. It enhances the security for accessing the applications."
"SSL Offload"
"Compared to other solutions, Citrix ADC is much more robust in terms of the native integration to cloud platforms, and it is far more robust from an operational point of view as well."
"The web application firewall is one feature I found valuable in the solution."
"The solution can scale."

Cons

"The platform’s monitoring tool is not up to the mark. It is not proactive enough and lacks some capabilities. Additionally, they should work on providing integration with other vendors."
"The configuration aspect of the solutions is relatively new, but I have had positive experiences. However, for more advanced tasks, such as VXLANs on the EX platform, Juniper Mist Wired Assurance may not be the best option due to certain limitations. Nonetheless, it does have a CLI override feature for specialized configurations that cannot be done through the GUI."
"This cloud solution is built on microservices, and Juniper continuously adds new ones to enhance performance or introduce additional services."
"The product provides some templates to integrate with applications like MS Exchange, MS SharePoint, SAP Enterprise Portal, and others. However, the last update for these templates was 2013 (lots of applications are running on versions newer then 2013)."
"The customization has always been a key area where some improvements are required. In the beginning, everything was for customizing the outer shell of it. You had to use the command-based utility and you had to do a lot of manual work. They have improved it a little bit and now there are some GUI-based functionalities that can be used. However, more can be done that doesn't require a lot of intervention. Right now there are some features, there are some customizations that can be done, but it's still very tedious, very cumbersome, a lot of work. So that could be simplified."
"I would like to see support for scripting, like "iRule", which gives you the option to implement any configuration which is not available out of the box."
"The user interface could be more friendly. Some wizards and other documentation for administrators, as well as some use cases, helps us to understand the solution."
"Citrix ADC can be really complex. It isn't very simple like some other appliances that I've worked with. You need a lot of skill and experience to manage it. I'm not talking about a year or two. You need at least four years to understand it very well. It is not that easy to learn. They should make it a lot simpler for users to understand the management of it. They can also provide some additional training. The material they have on the site is not sufficient enough for you to understand how to manage it. Their training is expensive, and not everyone has the funds and experience for it. Citrix isn't very popular around these parts of the world. So, it can use some more marketing, sales, enlightenment, and advertisement. These could bring more market for them. Basically, there are just a few companies that really go for Citrix. Most of the companies go for VMware because they marketed themselves more than Citrix. There isn't much difference between Citrix and VMware. VMware is a little more robust than Citrix. Citrix has focused more on desktops rather than server virtualization, and that's the advantage VMware has over Citrix. Citrix also needs to educate and inform users about the infrastructure that is supported with a version. Currently, if the customers don't look at the datasheet, they might miss this important information."
"It was challenging explaining to customers that it's no longer NetScaler but ADC, and now it's not just ADC but also the rebranding from NetScaler."
"The WAF component needs to be simplified so that it is easier to use."
"An area for improvement in Citrix Web App and API Protection is for it to give real-time notifications and alerts. It would be practical if the solution warns you if there's an attack or if the load or traffic volume increases or decreases. An additional feature I'd like to see in Citrix Web App and API Protection is a prediction or artificial intelligence on what is happening, for example, attacks."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"We have a yearly licencing fee, and there are no additional costs."
"Price-wise, I feel that the solution is a little bit expensive."
"Licensing is adequate. I wanted to have a more prominent license, but until I do they don't give enough support. The additional cost would be too much."
"This product is more expensive than some of the competitors."
"We are quite happy with price. It's not too high."
"The licenses for this product are payable as a yearly subscription, and carry a high price-point. The subscription scheme is quite complicated, and costs will increase with each additional feature that is required, outside of the basic setup."
"The license for Citrix NetScaler is on an annual basis and it is reasonably priced."
"NetScaler does the same thing as an F5 and it's cheaper."
