I am a consultant working with Dell PowerEdge T-Series as an engineer with these hardwares for customer sites.

Majorly, I work with the 560 model and the 760 XS model from Dell PowerEdge T-Series, and I believe the 561 is for a single standalone server, which allows for custom configured storage on that server. We use the 761 for cluster purposes if we want to create a cluster of servers for redundancy.

What I appreciate most about Dell PowerEdge T-Series is the customization options available. You can specify a certain size of RAM and Dell provides it on the same size of hardware, ensuring you remain within the same specifications. Additionally, you can request how much storage you want, for both bootable and non-bootable drives, which allows for greater storage on the same hardware configuration.

Using Dell PowerEdge T-Series has affected the overall flexibility of my operations because they provide customization according to our needs. I can specify the size of RAM, processor, and storage details for both standalone servers and clustering, which allows for the flexibility we need based on the data storage requirements.

Regarding improvements for Dell PowerEdge T-Series, in a cluster scenario, I can see limitations, as you can only create a cluster of a maximum of three physical servers. While three is sufficient for 90% of scenarios, some sites with valuable data may want to have more options for backup servers.

Regarding the scalability of Dell PowerEdge T-Series, I believe that while standalone servers can support around 10 to 12 hard disks, with some disks reserved for redundancy, it would be beneficial if more storage options were available post-configuration.

I have been working with Dell PowerEdge T-Series for around five years.

Dell PowerEdge T-Series is very reliable, and I do not receive complaints from customers regarding hardware issues, as I manage sites where the hardware has been functioning effectively for over 20 years without constant outages or shutdowns.

I find that using Dell PowerEdge T-Series helps reduce unplanned production downtime, although most shutdowns we face are due to power failures. There was an instance at a site in South Africa with Dell PowerEdge T-Series standalone servers where one server heated up due to cooling issues, but I was able to retrieve the data after seeking Dell's support.

I often communicate with the technical support of Dell PowerEdgeT-Series, especially currently as I work on a case involving unexpected shutdowns at a large site. Sometimes the responses take time because we need to provide various logs for investigation, leading to delays in getting results, which is frustrating as it could be more efficient if all required logs were requested at once.

In the installation process of Dell PowerEdge T-Series, we start with the power cable and check if the system recognizes all hardware, such as storage, RAM, and CPU memory. We configure the required RAID, install the operating system—often with Dell doing it beforehand for Windows 2025—and then set up the management IP for remote access, which makes it straightforward without needing to connect physically to the server again.

I participated in the initial setup of Dell PowerEdge T-Series up until it was delivered to the warehouse, where we unpacked it, placed it properly, and configured it, ensuring all cable connections were correct and testing every scenario before sending it to the customer sites.

I believe that using standalone Dell PowerEdge T-Series servers helps reduce total cost of ownership, while for the cluster servers, I am not personally involved in the budget discussions, but I do notice that customers readily accept standalone servers, though the cluster ones can be pricier due to the need for additional storage and expansions.

Assessing the energy consumption of Dell PowerEdge T-Series, I find that all the servers come with two ports; one for backup, allowing them to run on a single power port, and a second port for emergency use if the main power supply fails, which is quite helpful.

In terms of my impressions regarding Dell PowerEdge T-Series' impact on our sustainability goals, I think it requires less power energy to run compared to other servers, even at the UPS level, where it runs smoothly without complete shutdowns.

Dell PowerEdge T-Series serves as a file server, DNS, DHCP, AD, and print server.

The processor and the memory are the features I appreciate most in Dell PowerEdge T-Series. The amount of memory that came out of the box was substantial, and it was not difficult to get it up to speed. It was very easily upgradeable.

Using Dell PowerEdge T-Series has helped to reduce unplanned production downtime. Currently, that server is staying up longer than my virtual machines are.

The availability of Dell PowerEdge T-Series is significant, as it allows us to be more agile.

I have seen ROI with Dell PowerEdge T-Series. It has helped us manage our network much more effectively. Because of its availability, I do not have the downtime that I was experiencing previously.

Dell PowerEdge T-Series can be improved by keeping up with the times. As we move more into AI, the newer processors going into the servers will be great.

We have been using Dell PowerEdge T-Series for about five years.

Tech support for Dell PowerEdge T-Series is good. I have not had any issues. A couple of times I have had to make a call, and they will send somebody the next day with parts, so I have not experienced any issues.

Before considering Dell PowerEdge T-Series, we had old HP servers and some old rack servers that were off brand. Once we became a Dell shop, we moved everything to Dell, including servers, Chromebooks, desktops, and laptops. Using one vendor has made it much easier to manage.

My experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing for Dell PowerEdge T-Series is positive. My sales representative from Dell is great, so I have not had any issues with that at all. She answers pretty much right away.

When we were choosing Dell PowerEdge T-Series, we were considering other options. We were looking at the latest HP. However, once we started looking at the specs and everything, Dell was the way to go.

If I were talking to a peer considering Dell PowerEdge T-Series, I would say that the big thing that sold me on them outside of the specs was that the support and the ease of contact is much easier than any other vendor I have used. I would rate this product a 9 out of 10.

My main use case for Dell PowerEdge T-Series involves it serving as a file server.

What I like the most about Dell PowerEdge T-Series is the simplicity to update. It is easy with Dell PowerEdge T-Series because when we enter the service tag number, we can go to Dell directly and update all the drivers. The simplicity is what stands out; if I go with Lenovo, it is super complicated.

Using Dell PowerEdge T-Series has reduced unplanned production downtime, though quantifying exactly how much is difficult. Using Dell PowerEdge T-Series has also affected the overall flexibility of my operations and business.

What I want to see in the next release for Dell PowerEdge T-Series is not much more than what they already have; it is fine now.

I have been using Dell PowerEdge T-Series for five years.

I evaluate customer service and technical support with Dell PowerEdge T-Series as very easy. We have the self-dispatch, so it is super easy. We call for a drive, they send us a drive, so we do not have to call them repeatedly. It is very easy.

Prior to adopting Dell PowerEdge T-Series, I was able to find a solution to address similar needs with Lenovo in my other company, not in this one.

Using Dell PowerEdge T-Series has helped reduce my total cost of ownership, though we will see after. I think it is around 20% what we are looking for in terms of cost reduction.

In the evaluation process, I considered other brands, but they are not good alternatives. Lenovo is the hard way when just trying to update the system, and when we try to call them, it is very difficult to join their service system.

Checking the price could be advice I give to other people; Dell PowerEdge T-Series is a little bit higher than the other brands. Dell PowerEdge T-Series looks very effective for energy consumption, but we do not really manage the power since we have a big plant, so we do not focus on power. The easy management from Dell is what led me to consider a change. We never tried running AI workloads on Dell PowerEdge T-Series, but we are getting into this business, and that is why we are here. I would give this review a rating of 9.

Dell PowerEdge T-Series is definitely suitable for office use cases. I had one client who couldn't afford the rack series or the R-series, so he was asking about Dell PowerEdge T-Series and how it would work. He needed two sockets and we recommended that if he wanted to go larger, he could get Dell PowerEdge T-Series server with two sockets, but we would recommend the rack instead. We would definitely recommend the rack because if you don't have a data center and you need just one computer for a very specific use case, maybe some advertisement using a bit of AI, definitely go for Dell PowerEdge T-Series. But other than that, the rack servers have more use cases than Dell PowerEdge T-Series because they have more power under the hood.

I have been using this solution for around a year so far.

The form factor is a key differentiator. Dell PowerEdge T-Series are technically computers similar to the ones we use daily. They are tower computers, the ones we used to put on the desk. If the customer doesn't have a data center, or they don't have a rack, or they have limited space, they definitely need Dell PowerEdge T-Series. First of all, the form factor is important. Second of all is the price. Usually Dell PowerEdge T-Series is cheaper than the R-series because it is upgradable, but you need to pre-configure it first. The PowerEdge R-series has more PCIe, it has more stock, it has more availability in the market, more spare parts. With Dell PowerEdge T-Series, most customers just buy it and never upgrade it. But when it comes to the R-series, they later upgrade RAM and upgrade many other components. Usually Dell PowerEdge T-Series has less computational power than the R-series. Depending on which one you buy, you would have limited upgradability. Overall, it really depends.

I would recommend the R-series.

The valuable features are significant. Under the hood, because we are currently a Dell Platinum partner, we would advise customers in buying Dell technologies because at the end of the day, this is our bread and butter. Usually under the hood, it is all the same. What is different is the Dell software, the lifecycle management, the things that Dell offers, which are for example, the integrated Dell Remote Access Controller and some Dell proprietary hardware. These are what make the difference. Other than that, it is all the same. If the customer wants to go with HP, wants to go with Lenovo, wants to go with other-based servers, and they are only looking at the price, then they might think Dell is more expensive than others. But what we usually tell our customers here in Saudi is that the ProSupport that Dell provides is top-notch. In case you need anything, Dell directly can support because they have warehouses here and they have a lot of spare parts. While other vendors do not, especially here in the region. This is one of the points that we raise with the customer. But at the end of the day, if they want a specific server or they want a specific vendor and they want this vendor, then under the hood, we tell them it is kind of the same, but of course with Dell, you get more software, more support, and additional benefits.

Servers in general have definitely changed the way things are. Almost all the clients I have worked with definitely have PowerEdge servers which are used to house their VMs and which are used for their computation power. PowerEdge servers themselves have different types. Some are made for storage and have more storage capacity, some have better compute. It depends what the end user needs, and once we position that server for them, it will definitely help their business grow.

When you talk about AI, you are definitely talking about GPUs. NVIDIA is the one who is selling the AI. A lot of AI servers that are coming with Dell have seamless software integration. Most of the time we do not have to upgrade any drivers, the switches that come with the PowerEdge servers, which are NVIDIA-based switches, they run flawlessly. Even the NVIDIA data link, if I am not mistaken, between the GPUs themselves works flawlessly through the design. It is designed from the ground up to be an AI server. The competition, including HP, has HPC, high performance compute servers. But what I am seeing in the market is that a lot of the time they are going towards Dell technologies. Dell has a campaign here where if you buy AI servers, they might give you a resident engineer to train your team on the AI servers and they would give you support more time than others. They are trying to differentiate themselves from the competition by showing the customer that if you buy their servers, they will give you more support, more time, and more hands-on experience. They will train your engineer and they will give you a resident engineer for a time being. This is a selling point that they are using.

For Dell PowerEdge T-Series, definitely provide more options. They definitely need to do something about the shortage. I know it is global and they, at the end of the day, buy their CPU, GPU, and RAM from different vendors, but there should be a fix for all the shortages that are happening because the prices are growing exponentially. Some of the things from last year to this year have gone up by 100%, 150%. You are talking about if a server cost around $100,000, now it costs around $200,000, $250,000. Definitely the client will look and ask why they need to put this investment. Dell gave an overview to people and to the clients through official emails that they have shortages. So if you need anything, do some forecasting. But here in the market, a lot of forecasting did not take place. The geopolitical issue that happened between the Gulf and Iran definitely affected the pricing. As vendors, either they should have more stock here or they should find another solution. It is not just about Dell PowerEdge T-Series or about the PowerEdge server, it is across the board. The whole portfolio is having shortages now.

More functionality is needed. The software needs to be upgraded with the current generation. The user interface should be redefined a bit and made better and more intuitive. They should give more options when it comes to Dell PowerEdge T-Series, maybe better cooling which would make us have more performance. We can upgrade the CPU and later on the GPU. It has more functionality. I should not be locked in to specific types of GPUs or CPUs. I can use whatever I want, the same on the PowerEdge servers.

In R-series functionality, it is not really a Dell thing, but the hypervisor, because we usually run PowerEdge as a bare metal, and you get a lot of things out of it. Usually the servers do not fail much. We have had the servers running for years now and they have never failed.

Technical support receives 8 out of 10. It depends on the client, actually. If they bought ProSupport Plus, the support is almost immediate. Usually if the client bought ProSupport, the normal support, it is not immediate. Sometimes we had one customer who had to wait two days to receive actual support even though Dell replied on the email, but their issue was kept there for two days. Depending on the type of activity, the support might accept or might reject. If it is a software update activity and the customer does not have ProSupport Plus, Dell will simply say it is not up to them. They direct you to align with another team and you have to pay for an upgrade for a software upgrade on the system. I guess 8 out of 10 is fair because it depends on the level of support, but it should be even for customers who did not buy the highest tier of support. They should still receive their fair share. It should not be bound only by money. But again, we run in a different world.

Before Dell technologies, I was mainly working within the financial sector and especially in the banking sector. My knowledge is mainly in software and hardware. I have been in the hardware industry for maybe two to two and a half years now.

Purchasing is through distributors here. In Saudi, we should buy from distributors. We cannot buy directly from the vendor unless we are a Titanium X Partner. Our partnership does not allow us to buy directly.

Energy consumption is something that is not really looked at here in most of the clients that I have worked with because here energy is more abundant than other places. For example, in Europe, energy is taken more seriously than in the region here. People should be more knowledgeable about the energy consumption here. Unfortunately, I am not too knowledgeable. Usually what we do is that we do some calculation on the power and usually get some uninterruptible power supplies or UPS that would handle this. Usually, since we do not work in designing data centers, we do not go and understand how much power withdrawal is happening throughout the whole data center.

We are losing so many deals because of the pricing.

Our main use case for Dell PowerEdge T-Series is hosting central live storage, handling local print services, and managing automated backup for our team.

We configure Dell PowerEdge T-Series as a central print server, allowing us to manage print queues, deploy drivers automatically to user laptops, and monitor ink levels across the office network.

Beyond backup, a major benefit of Dell PowerEdge T-Series is its quiet operation and high reliability. It runs 24/7 in our office environment without overheating or disrupting our daily tasks.

The best features of Dell PowerEdge T-Series are the integrated iDRAC remote management tools, which allow seamless out-of-band monitoring, and the robust hardware stability that ensures consistent uptime.

Out-of-band monitoring through Dell PowerEdge T-Series lets us check hardware health, update software, and reboot the system remotely, even if the main operating system crashes, saving us from driving to the office.

I would also add the strong built-in security features of Dell PowerEdge T-Series, such as cryptographically signed firmware, which protect our server from unauthorized changes at the hardware level.

Dell PowerEdge T-Series has greatly improved our office productivity by keeping our shared file and backup system constantly online with zero unplanned downtime since it was deployed.

Dell PowerEdge T-Series's redundant power supplies and early hardware alerts have saved us from at least three major hardware-related crashes this year, preventing roughly 15 to 20 hours of potential office downtime.

The power management tools of Dell PowerEdge T-Series are excellent. Through the dashboard, we can monitor real-time power capping and thermal metrics, which helps us minimize waste and keep the server running cool under heavy load.

The security features of Dell PowerEdge T-Series are very strong. Dell's use of silicon root of trust and secured-component verification ensures that any AI workload or data we process on the server is well-protected at the hardware level.

The predictive analytics and AI-driven telemetry for hardware health in Dell PowerEdge T-Series are highly accurate. It reliably catches fan anomalies or power fluctuations early with virtually zero false positives.

Dell PowerEdge T-Series hardware itself is excellent, but the premium licensing cost for advanced iDRAC remote management features could be lower or more flexible for small businesses.

Providing more step-by-step setup guides or video tutorials directly inside the support portal would make initial configuration of Dell PowerEdge T-Series much smoother for smaller teams.

Dell PowerEdge T-Series is exceptionally stable. The server has been running continuously under consistent workload without a single system crash, blue screen, or unexpected hardware failure since it was deployed.

The scalability of Dell PowerEdge T-Series is excellent. The chassis offers plenty of hot-swappable drive bays and PCIe expansion slots, making it incredibly easy to add more storage or upgrade components as we grow.

Overall, Dell PowerEdge T-Series is a highly dependable tower server for any small to medium-sized business looking for strong local performance, excellent remote management, and high uptime.

We are using the application server where we have installed the Ubuntu operating system on top of that, and then the MySQL database is installed on the same server.

The best option in Dell PowerEdge T-Series is that we can easily move from one location to a second location. We do not require a rack setup; we can put it onto the table easily and then move it from one location to another location. If the office is shifting, whether temporarily or to edge locations, a tower server is better than a rack server.

The iDRAC tool is excellent. With the help of that iDRAC tool, we can easily manage multiple servers from a single location. We can manage, deploy the operating system, and take remote control from different geographical locations with the help of the iDRAC tool.

I do not think there is any such improvement needed from Dell PowerEdge T-Series. Everything looks adequate. There is no challenge as of now in the tower models. For the tower model, I think we have to make more cores into the CPUs so that we can use it for more usage and more use cases.

I have been using this solution for approximately three years.

There is no such challenge. The deployment process is straightforward. We have to boot the system with the help of a bootable pen drive and then easily install the operating system. There is no such issue we are facing in the deployment. We can easily create the RAID configuration and then install the operating system. There is no such difficulty for us.

If there is any downtime, we always have the cluster, so we can move the workload from one node to another node. Then we can put the server into maintenance mode and easily work on the server part if there are any challenges. There is no downtime required.

The solution scales up.

For Dell technology, I would give it a nine out of ten. Most of the time the queue is lengthy when I call the customer support. That is why I reduced the score by one point. But from the technical perspective, there is no challenge. However, the queue is always a little bit lengthy compared to other OEM support, such as NetApp or HP.

Our preference is basically Dell, and then if there is no option available in Dell, we go to the second OEM such as HP. Our preference is always in Dell due to the support.

The configuration is not a big challenge for us. We have an in-house deployment team who can deploy everything. If it is a tower model, we have to put it onto the tables and then we can easily install the operating system. We have the in-house capability to do everything.

The hardware pricing has drastically increased since the last couple of months. I think Dell has to reduce the commercial part. The pricing is very heavy today. Not only the tower model, but I have also noticed that most of the OEMs such as Dell, HP, and Lenovo have also increased their prices. To make more customers, I think Dell has to reduce the commercial part. This is the suggestion from my side.

Some solutions, such as HP's ML series, are also available. We are using that as well. However, the major part is Dell only.

In Dell technology, we are using Dell storage, Dell servers, and Dell desktops as well.

We are using the SR, which is the rack series basically, R and T. These are rack and towers. In rack, we are using 760s, 760, 760 SS, and 770. These are the models which we are using. We have the Dell PowerStore as array storage.

We are working with the tower server and proposing it to our customers. We are not using the tower three servers in-house. Most of the servers we are using are rack servers for our internal purpose.

We have already conducted multiple events for Dell PowerEdge T-Series. We are educating the customer that it is better than a rack server if the office is at an edge location.

Regarding the energy perspective related to Dell PowerEdge T-Series, it depends on the workload. If in the rack model they are using the AI kind of workload in that environment, the server is not basically energy efficient. We always require more power consumption for the AI workload for the GPUs. But it is totally dependent on the workload. Since the tower model is made for edge locations and easy to move, in that scenario we always recommend going with the tower server model. That can help us to save energy in terms of cooling situations. We do not require much air conditioning to cool the servers.

In other technology or other OEMs, there are very limited options in the tower models. In Dell, we have different multiple tower models which are available only at Dell. Other providers have two or three models such as HP's ML series. There are multiple options to choose the right fit server as per the customer needs in Dell. I would rate this product overall a ten out of ten.

My main use case for Dell PowerEdge T-Series is primarily for on-premises virtualization. We run a mix of VMs for ERP, file services, and some light analytics workloads.

For ERP, we host the application and database VMs on Dell PowerEdge T-Series. It handles our daily transaction processing, and we rely on its stability to keep things running through shift changes without interruptions.

Reliability is the best feature Dell PowerEdge T-Series offers, first and foremost. It simply runs. Additionally, ease of management with their tools and solid remote management capabilities save us time when we do not need to be on-site.

Sparse part availability has been good. For example, we can check hardware health and apply patches remotely with Dell PowerEdge T-Series, which means fewer after-hours trips to the data room. Once we caught a failing component early through alerts and scheduled a replacement before it caused downtime.

Dell PowerEdge T-Series has positively impacted my organization by being steady and reliable. We have not had major outages, which has kept production schedules predictable. That stability alone has been a significant win for the business.

We have seen roughly 20% fewer unplanned downtime incidents because of Dell PowerEdge T-Series compared to our old setup. That stability keeps production teams moving without IT fire drills. Additionally, remote management has saved us 20% in administrative overhead because the team does not need to be hands-on as much.

A couple of things could improve Dell PowerEdge T-Series. Updates could be streamlined. Compatibility checks sometimes add friction, and a more unified update process would help. Additionally, licensing clarity could be improved. It is not bad, just not always as straightforward as you would want.

Performance has generally been solid with Dell PowerEdge T-Series, but more proactive alerting out of the box would be beneficial. I would rate Dell PowerEdge T-Series an eight out of ten. It does what we need and does it very reliably.

I chose eight out of ten for Dell PowerEdge T-Series because it has been really dependable, but a smoother update experience and clearer licensing would bump it higher. Perhaps more proactive monitoring built in would also improve the experience.

My main use case for Dell PowerEdge T-Series involves deploying them as servers to smaller businesses, animal clinics, or venues. We use one for ourselves as our main data server and Active Directory server.

A specific example of how I've deployed Dell PowerEdge T-Series for our own company is that we have it deployed as our print server and our data file server backup right now, so I've set up a RAID of multiple drives because the front of the server supports six to eight drives. We're using it for our backups and to connect to printers.

In my experience, the best features Dell PowerEdge T-Series offers include the fact that you don't need a rack; you could free stand it or stand it upright. It allows you to have multiple power supplies and supports easy access to drives.

The easy access to drives has helped me because it can be stood upright, doesn't need to be in a rack, you can have it on a desk or underneath a desk, and easy access to drives makes it easier to replace failing drives or to upgrade storage.

Dell PowerEdge T-Series has impacted my organization positively in that it has been a good server.

If I could wish for one improvement, it would be to put more support for drives, as it has good hardware overall.

The most valuable aspect of Dell PowerEdge T-Series tower servers is the iDRAC functionality for remote management. It is important to note that not all tower server models support iDRAC. For example, the T360 and T560 do support iDRAC functionality, while the T160  model has different levels of support. The T160 model is more than a desktop and is classified as a server because it supports server operating systems.

During our discussion about functionality, we focused on remote management capabilities using iDRAC. The top models are equipped with this functionality, which provides significant value for remote server management and monitoring.

Dell could enhance tower servers by improving energy consumption efficiency and reducing heating issues. Additionally, there is potential for expanding iDRAC functionality to entry-level models and introducing additional management features that would benefit smaller deployments.

The solution is actively being used in production environments.

Stability cannot be completely guaranteed with any infrastructure solution. Following Murphy's law, potential issues are unpredictable. High availability solutions are necessary to reduce the likelihood of problems, but there is no guarantee regarding complete stability or the ability to predict every issue that might occur.

Dell support in Serbia is excellent. They maintain a hub with spare parts and provide them very quickly. For common spare parts, they typically deliver next business day response. Most incidents are resolved within one or two business days, which is better than many other vendors offer. While there can be some challenges with specific or uncommon equipment, the support for Dell PowerEdge T-Series tower servers and rack servers is consistently fast and reliable.

The setup process for Dell PowerEdge T-Series tower servers is straightforward. You do not need extensive technical background to complete the setup, as it can be accomplished in fifteen minutes to half an hour depending on your preference and specific configuration needs.

It is advisable to work with a company that will manage and support the product after implementation.

Based on my experience with tower servers in small companies, these systems can be managed by a dedicated person or as a part-time responsibility for a system administrator. Even low-cost tower server models such as the T160 and T360 function reliably without significant differences in operational capability. The functionality either works or it does not work, and with these models, it consistently works. While energy consumption should be a greater concern, newer generation Dell PowerEdge servers are increasingly focusing on energy efficiency, heating reduction, and overall power optimization. I would rate this product a ten out of ten overall.
