One of the cheapest products that also provides prompt support
It is fine if users want to use the product for a general purpose. If they want something with more options, they should choose other solutions. Veeam Agent for Linux has only basic features, and the configuration is not as good as other products. Veaam can create backups of the virtual environment, physical environment, and Office 365. You can also create backups to the cloud. There are many options. Overall, I rate the solution an eight out of ten.

Continuous replication and backup simplify customer service across enterprises of any size
Veeam Data Platform provides me with the most useful features such as application restore, single file restore, backup and replication, and continuous replication. We utilize these features for management and the customers we serve. Veeam Data Platform provides features such as immutability and ransomware protection. While we use other applications for ransomware protection, we rely on Veeam Data Platform for encryption.

Pros

"We've found the product to be very useful and has very good capabilities."
"It's simple to use."
"The Veeam Backup and Replication Suite is very user-friendly."
"It is very good, and it fits the purpose."
"The initial setup was straightforward. It's not complicated. It takes around half an hour to implement, but it depends on the performance of the server that you are installing the backup software on."
"It's most compatible with VMware. It can restore single files instead of having to restore the whole machine, once again leading to savings for the company."
"In one balanced solution, one single management pane, I can take care of everything, even my cloud infrastructure."
"Veeam has a "next, next, finish" installer, and the overall deployment is straightforward."
"If you have a lot of central sites and remote sites, you can easily set up the replication and make it easier."
"We are satisfied with the technical support."
"I would highly recommend it, since the solution is very simple to implement, monitor and manage."
"Veeam is highly scalable. In one scenario, we started with 2,000 users and scaled up to 24,000."
"Once you get it set up, everything is smooth, and the recovery is excellent."
"Veeam Backup Replication is stable for VMware, it works well."
"It is a very good product; it does what it takes to backup virtual machines, it is easy to set up, and it is very quick."
"What I like most about this solution are the simplicity and the price-performance ratio."

Cons

"It could use deduplication features."
"The integration needs improvement. It should be easier for my admins."
"I rate Veeam Agent for Linus six out of 10."
"More Linux systems should be made compatible with the solution."
"Their technical support could be better. I will often find a solution to a problem before they get back to me."
"The solution is rather expensive and I think the price is too high."
"In terms of the physical environment, I'd like them to integrate it with other kinds of solutions."
"In terms of the physical environment, I'd like them to integrate it with other kinds of solutions. We don't just work with Microsoft or Linux, but other kinds of infrastructure data as well."
"No issues as such with stability and scalability, but from the deployment perspective, we expect it to support a hybrid environment - multiple-edition deployment within one single Veeam Backup Server instance."
"As with any product things can break down."
"Veeam Backup is not enhanced. There aren't any enhancements yet and they are still using traditional methods for snapshots and to perform the backup, like many other vendors. Another improvement would be simplifying and integrating their software."
"If you upgrade too quickly, you may have issues."
"It should support physical servers, and as far as I know, v9 will do this."
"The cost needs to be considered."
"Veeam Data Platform needs to improve data backup for Oracle admin. It needs to improve its stability."
"Its native capability for talking to the public cloud needs improvement. Connecting to a public cloud is a little bit more of a challenge when it comes to Veeam than it is with Rubrik or Commvault. There are still some hoops that you got to jump through in order to send Veeam backups out to public cloud repositories. It is not as simple as it is with other products."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"We have purchased a license to use Veeam Agent for Linux and the additional support. The overall cost of Veeam Agent for Linux is expensive."
"Veeam Agent is one of the cheapest products in the market."
"It's a subscription based license, which is started on a yearly basis. Currently the licensing is split between three editions: standard, enterprise, and enterprise plus. As long as you check the comparison between the additions and make sure that you have what you need, there are no extra costs with Veeam."
"The solution is rather expensive and I think the price is too high."
"There's the principal license for Veeam Agent for Linux, and then you need to buy additional licenses for your machines."
"The costing is very competitive."
"Licensing costs are monthly."
"Licensing costs are $300,000 USD yearly, and we pay for three years at a time."
"Compared to other enterprise solutions, Veeam Backup & Replication generally offers a competitive price point. However, there has been a noticeable and concerning increase in pricing, particularly in the year 2023. The rate of price hikes has been significant, with prices escalating three times during the first quarter of the year. This trend indicates a substantial shift in the pricing structure, which may have implications for customers and their budgeting considerations."
"The solution is fairly priced. I rate the pricing a five out of ten."
"The product is not that expensive."
"On a scale from one to ten, where one is cheap and ten is expensive, I rate the solution's pricing a five out of ten."
"Its pricing is really good."
"I consider that the product's price falls under the middle range category."
"When I did a tech refresh, we took out a subscription for the coming five years."
"I don't pay for the solution, so I can't comment on the cost."
