Efficiently manage applications with secure single sign-on and streamlined operations
Access Manager allows us to efficiently manage a broad spectrum of applications while ensuring secure, single-page application access. Its ability to consolidate applications on a single interface streamlines operations significantly. The product is highly secure and reliable, especially in managing user access across various platforms. Multi-factor authentication enhances security by requiring additional verification steps.

Centralized access has improved privileged control and now provides strong audit visibility
I believe StrongDM can improve its initial setup and onboarding experience for larger enterprise environments like Scania, where we have a lot of processes. Integrating different teams, access policies, and existing identity workflows requires substantial planning. Additionally, I think the dashboard customization and reporting could be more flexible for operational teams, though new teams find it manageable. Once the platform is fully integrated, it provides significant value. Apart from the onboarding experience, I would also mention that the templates for enterprise onboarding and policy setup could benefit from innovative thinking tailored to organizations managing large AWS and Kubernetes workloads. Enhanced customization in dashboards and reporting would further ease operations and provide better insights.

Pros

"In general, the customization that is offered is very good, and the company that I am working with currently is using this feature quite extensively."
"Stability-wise, I rate the solution a nine out of ten."
"The most valuable features of Oracle Access Manager are the single sign-on capability and a very robust platform that can take a high number of authentication and authorization requests, and it is very flexible."
"The product allows customization via custom code."
"My company has used most features of Oracle Access Manager for various implementations, but the most helpful feature of the solution for the business and customers is single sign-on."
"Before using OAM we authenticated via RSA Web Services, Web Services are quick but OAM lets us be scalable and provides a performance improvement."
"Access Manager allows us to efficiently manage a broad spectrum of applications while ensuring secure, single-page application access."
"The scalability of the solution is good. We haven't felt we've been restricted from expanding as necessary and we haven't heard of any issues from our clients."
"I absolutely would say that the best features of StrongDM and what I appreciate about the solution is that time to onboard is absolutely minimal."
"Since using StrongDM, I estimate around a 60% reduction in effort compared to other PAM tools."
"StrongDM positively impacts our organization in many ways, mainly in cost savings from the time saved, and it has significantly improved both security and operational efficiency for us."
"The best features in StrongDM are that it is the easiest product in the market for this situation with easy access."
"All of the logging is handled for us, including for auditing purposes. Looking through the audit logs is not a painful experience."
"StrongDM positively impacts my organization by helping with compliance and audit functions."
"StrongDM has positively impacted my organization by saving me a lot of time as a security auditor, because I have to navigate settings and configurations to check the presence of certain security controls in place."
"Since using StrongDM, I estimate around a 60% reduction in effort compared to other PAM tools."

Cons

"The product is complicated and difficult to install and configure."
"In other products, we can customize on the GUI end, whereas in Oracle, we need to take a backup of the JAR file and then customize it...and during this process, sometimes the WebLogic admin console will go down, which will impact the process."
"The performance of Oracle Access Manager could be improved. It should be quick to install, but it wasn't, so this is another area for improvement. The Oracle Access Manager console also has room for improvement because it's slow."
"It needs to be simpler to install and simpler to maintain."
"The initial implementation can definitely be improved because you have to work on several components to configure it correctly."
"The solution's lifecycle management is troublesome. Also, another area of issue in the solution is the part involving documentation of certain features."
"I would expect a product with a reputation like Oracle to be very stable and it is not in my opinion."
"There could be some improvements in the documentation and overall knowledge base of the solution."
"I think StrongDM could improve by focusing more on network device management by allowing the addition of PAM for network devices, managing legacy network equipment, or helping to initiate enterprise onboarding where a lot of complex environments and initial setup are required."
"We've had a few issues with the stability of this product in the past."
"My thoughts on the pricing of StrongDM is that it is expensive."
"StrongDM lacks the capability for web application injections or password injections, so we need to rely on other tools such as HashiCorp for non-human accounts or DevOps scenarios."
"I rate the stability of the product five out of ten because crashes sometimes happen when we are working on it."
"Additionally, StrongDM has limited MFA and passwordless options, relying heavily on time-based one-time passwords (OTP) or Duo, lacking support for true passwordless setups like biometrics or hardware YubiKeys, and it does not support per-session MFA."
"I think the stability of StrongDM is about four to five due to the occasional crashes that I mentioned."
"I believe StrongDM can improve its initial setup and onboarding experience for larger enterprise environments like Scania, where we have a lot of processes."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The product is a little expensive."
"On a scale where one is a high price, and ten is a low price, I rate the solution a one. Purchasing a license for the solution is very expensive now."
"The tool is affordable."
"I cannot comment on the exact pricing because Oracle has different licensing models for other clients, making it flexible."
"Can be expensive as a solution."
"The price is really good and it is flexible because they have CPU licenses. The license is a one-time-only purchase."
"The licensing is per user per month."
