Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The virtual appliance for VMware vSphere is easy to deploy, easy to manage, and we have no need for additional Windows licenses.""The user interface is good, and it's user-friendly. I also like its usability with hyper-convergence products like Nutanix and others in the data infrastructure.""NAKIVO is easy to use and pretty easy to set up.""Backups are working smoothly with Nakivo Backup.""It has saved us numerous times from power outages and server failure.""It is affordable.""You can have it setup and running within a few minutes.""It is fast, simple, powerful, and has a price without competition."

"Performs the backup properly and protects our data.""The solution is easy to use.""If you have an idea of what you are doing, it's very flexible and very stable.""I like that it supports HPE UNIX servers since many backup solutions do not - this is the main reason why we chose this solution.""The solution allows us to be able to backup and exchange directly, to backup Microsoft exchange.""Backup of SAP/Oracle -- they are more robust than the competition.""I like that Micro Focus keeps a separate catalog of our data.""It works excellently only with Oracle."

Cons
"Updating VM Tools on a replicated VM could be better.""One of the things I liked least about this software is when an update was pushed to one of the servers we had, somehow we didn't receive the update and needed some quick troubleshooting.""I would like to have a built-in SNMP client, which is important if we want to monitor it using Zabbix, Nagios, or another monitoring solution.""Space is always an issue.""It would be good if I could have a remote upgrade of our Synology Transporters, but the manual upgrade is easy and no problem at all.""In the press releases, it would be useful to make sure that the manual space reclaim procedure does not have to be performed but that it happens automatically, thus optimizing the use of space.""It would be helpful to be able to have a custom footprint so that only the required features are installed.""In the future, it would be nice to have support for Zimbra email, Collabora Office, and the NextCloud content collaboration platform."

More NAKIVO Backup & Replication Cons →

"It's very expensive compared to Veeam and other similar solutions.""It would be ideal if they could improve their level of support.""Micro Focus Data Protector must improve its overall evolution record. They need to focus on hardware based instant recovery, client recovery, and cloud ability. Now there is no cloud ability.""I would like to see a better user interface in the next release.""We have a lot of requests for the Micro Focus team, particularly in terms of the Japanese data pattern, as it's not as good now. The Japanese data pattern accuracy of the Micro Focus Data Protector needs to be improved because there are a lot of false negatives and false positives. We are currently testing this and our product team has been communicating with the Micro Focus team.""The GUI could be updated. The GUI hasn't changed since version 6. It's on version 10 now. The reporting could also be better. Also, while Data Protector is excellent for backing up physical hardware, it needs more features for backing up VM images because many environments use hypervisor.""Many of our users complain about the GUI. You still need to rely on the command line interface. Because it originated as a Unix system, Data Protector is still a command line-driven solution, which makes it seem rather dated compared to systems that are built around a GUI from day one. It doesn't affect the functionality, but some people don't find it user-friendly.""Micro Focus are improving Data Protector with every new version and since we began undergoing training with the latest version we have not faced any real challenges yet. However, their support does need to be improved, in my opinion. In certain critical cases that we've had, they did not provide a satisfactory level of support."
